How does someone own a media business?

Would one have to go to a business college??? What degrees would you need?? I am currently working in at a telecommunication company that doesn’t give any overtime ect... I am looking to new alternatives. I thought about getting into the field of bio but realised I not strong in math. So I am wondering what business courses I need to take. Can I go to a college or would I have to go to a university?
