Thank you for posting all of this information! I have a wonderful, bright, healthy little man and I want him to continue being healthy and hopefully some day make beautiful grandchildren for me.

A close friend of mine however, she has a little boy a few months younger than mine. Her son had a birth defect and recently had to undergo surgery to correct it... I don't want to be too graphic, but apparently the opening of his urethra was not in the right spot. I don't think they really know yet if he will be able to function properly and procreate or if his defects are more than just the 'surface abnormality'.

I can't say what all the contributing factors were, but I know my friend has used pharmaceutical drugs quite a bit, both for recreation and for 'mental health' reasons. I think she was on birth control before she got pregnant and I believe she was also taking some sort of depression or stress/anxiety medication early in her pregnancy.

For me, it's heartbreaking how many people ignore the risks of harmful chemicals we put in our bodies, keep in our homes, and those in our environment. My friend does not listen to me when I try to tell her about such things... the attitude of "everyone does it, everyone takes it, everyone uses it, so it must be okay" is just astonishing.

Again, thanks for the information. I want to be more aware of these environmental factors and figure out what I can do to protect my kids as much as possible!

Thanks for checking out the documentry after watching it i want almost nothing to do with all the poisonous products that are destroying us and the earth. Watching films like this motivates to live a natural and minimalist life. I never would have watched this if an ats member had not shared this site in a thread i found a while ago.

You're very welcome. I'm somewhat insane at the moment from absorbing this information. If testosterone counts continue this steady decline, we're not going to last but a few more generations without some sort of evolutionary breakthrough.

Yes, not having anything to do with these products is a must, but it is almost a bit pointless at the same time. It's in the air we breathe! This is global and effecting all vertebra studied so far!

The part which was of particular disgust was John Kerry telling the scientist that he was against the American people for not doing independent studies! I wanted to throw my shoe at the computer screen

UPDATE:

Plastic chemicals 'feminise boys'

Chemicals in plastics alter the brains of baby boys, making them "more feminine", say US researchers.

Males exposed to high doses in the womb went on to be less likely to play with boys' toys like cars or to join in rough and tumble games, they found.

The University of Rochester team's latest work adds to concerns about the safety of phthalates, found in vinyl flooring and PVC shower curtains.

The article continues:

They found that two phthalates DEHP and DBP can affect play behaviour.

Boys exposed to high levels of these in the womb were less likely than other boys to play with cars, trains and guns or engage in "rougher" games like playfighting.

Elizabeth Salter-Green, director of the chemicals campaign group CHEM Trust, said the results were worrying.

"We now know that phthalates, to which we are all constantly exposed, are extremely worrying from a health perspective, leading to disruption of male reproduction health and, it appears, male behaviour too.

"This feminising capacity of phthalates makes them true 'gender benders'."

Yikes.

Hello loam and all.

I'd like to suggest to those interested in reading more on this subject to check out this book:

Detoxify or Die

It talks about the effects of environmental pollution on humans. Also mentions that the only way to get rid of many of these synthetic substances is to sweat it out. The author recommends a dry sauna as being ideal, but just exercising to the point of sweating daily would greatly benefit.

It seems most of these substances are of an unknown structure to our body, and it doesn't know how to detox them. Instead, it just stores it in various tissues that can cause major diseases over the years, and in the mean time wreck havoc on your state of well being.
