Disclaimer: This post is not intended to be taken as mockery of anything or anyone.

It is quite possible that despite the best intentions here that ATS could alienate a lot of people who have been more than frustrated by the current government, and in particular having their opposition and criticisms labeled as being racist or racially motivated.

The left are trying to silence dissent by applying race to it, and no matter how hard you try, many are going to see this as taking a side in defense of that.

Very touchy issue, in a very important time. Defining racism now must also be able to accurately assess the political motives of all involved especially those making the allegations of racism.

Taking a stand against racism on ATS in the current political climate is not going to go well.

Why not just say that the illegal activities of Acorn are well known. You can leave the man and the minority crooks out of it.

But, it loses some meaning without knowing the full story. The whole reason of their crookedness was because they were helping each other out. I would condemn a company predominantly white helping out white people to evade taxes also. But the story loses meaning when we aren't told that what they were doing was actually race motivated. For fear of being labled a "rascist" for pointing it out.

Hence why I asked if I was missing something. Thanks for pointing that out.

Do you need a paragraph to describe to you what could be said in a couple of lines? I certainly don't.

Actually, I anticipate the opposite.

It's my sincere hope that this action results in encouraging a new wave of more serious and meaningful criticism of the new administration, their policies, their people, and their propositions without fear of racism being senselessly injected into the conversation.

If there's one thing that's sorely needed, it's the very-harsh very-sober analytical scrutiny of this administration without the distraction of racism.

Can you provide links? Yes. Can you avoid using terms such as the man and minority crooks? Yes. Can you get your point across and glean information from posters who also use their brains? Yes.

The whole point is, we are held to a higher standard. If you really have come to a conclusion on this topic already than you need no further information. If you really want to learn what others have to offer, use your brain.

IE: "He's a muslim! Oh, did you hear what his Christian pastor said! He's a muslim! He's a socialist! He's a Communist! He's like Hitler! He isn't even a American Citizen!" Notice the contradiction in the first part.

And none of those examples are anything to do with racism. People are denying ignorance by attempting to prove that this man is lying by pretending to be one thing whilst there is evidence he is another thing.

Moslem…is a religious distinction…that would be religious intolerance if it was spoken of in a derogatory way.

Christianity is a religious distinction…insults against Christians would be religious intolerance not racism.

Socialist…..is a political distinction and ideology…nothing to do with race.

Communist …is a political distinction and ideology….nothing to do with race.

Associating someone with Hitler is associating them with the ideology of Hitler and has nothing to do with race.

American citizen…. One would presume it would be important that the president would be eligible to hold such a powerful office. When evidence is presented that makes one suspect this is not the case then surely the whole point of a site like this is to look at that evidence…and deal with the evidence that occurs without having to endure accusations of racism.

If people were directly saying….I hate him because he is black….THAT is racism. I have yet to see an example of what this thread is really about, other than mods making odd posts about there being no such thing as race anyway, or disrespecting people for not being able to see where the racism is happening.

SO stated

However, racism disguised as political criticism is on the rise, and will not be tolerated.

Which leads me to believe this is about the president.

That is what I have been hoping for all along, and I sincerely hope it can happen here.

I don't envy you, there are elements on both sides of this current body politic that would rather do anything but have "very-harsh very-sober analytical scrutiny of this administration without the distraction of racism"

I wish you and your staff all the best, but as always, I have learned to expect the worst in people.

I hope I am wrong.

I guess I've just been missing all these rascist threads that have propelled the site owner to take action against. But, I have read a plethora of threads that would involve any of the above mentionted "people" that I listed. It's possible I'm just not reading the right threads.

Actually, I feel there is far-more knee-jerk "you're a racist" being tossed about by defenders of Obama, than racist tendencies within "mainstream" media criticism.

It's "about the President" in so far as his ethnicity has rekindled the ugliest side of humanity in this country -- both for critics and defenders. Our staff elected to say "enough" to rise above the ignorant fools, and attempt to refocus the debate back on real issues during this time of incredibly numerous issues.

The racism we see is clearly a divisive strategy, expertly aligned to existing prejudices, to create yet another distraction from the long list of critically important issues facing the nation and the world.

If you think that Obamas views on defence, health care, the economy, the middle east, foreign policy, education and other political aspects are based on his skin colour, then I think you have a problem.

How on earth did you make such an assumption from anything I wrote? Where did I say that? THAT in my view is a racist comment. How dare anyone assume and state such a thing…especially a mod.
The problem is the exact opposite of that. That people who oppose his views on healthcare, policy, middle east, economy etc are unable to freely criticise for fear of being accused of basing criticism on his skin colour....when actually MOST do not even think of his colour...EVER....until it is pointed out to them that they are basing it on his skin colour. So just who is being racist here?

Numerous explanations have been made on the reasons behind this move, and me listing posts and threads for you to try and justify racism and bigotry is not going to happen.

Maybe you just read and did not take time to comprehend what I said, But I find your post utterly insulting. You are accusing me of racism and bigotry on what grounds? Disgraceful.

It is interesting that your very avatar conjures up an image that brings to mind the BNP. It instantly conjures up a racist organisation. I am sure it is unintentional, but you see, racism can be assumed from many things where it does not exist.

I am in total agreement with that statement. I apologise for making an assumption that you were leaning the other way.

People are not going to say that though. Especially in this day and age, so they dig for socially acceptable excuses to dislike him. And the digging has become painfully obvious. Especially when parts of it are in contradiction from one moment to the next.

It may not have been directly stated, but this thread IS about an assumption that anyone opposing the president is racist because he happens to be of mixed race.

Your words from above, yes?

The problem is the exact opposite of that. The people who assign the motive to skin colour, the people who use skin colour as a motive, and the people who try and hide behind one to justify the other.

Maybe you just read and did not take time to comprehend what I said, But I find your post utterly insulting. You are accusing me of racism and bigotry on what grounds? Disgraceful.

I accused you of nothing. I said I would not spend time digging out threads in order that attempts could be made to justify racism and bigotry.

Oh. Low blow. I'm wounded. Hurt even.

Its the Union Jack. Its existed in its current form since 1801. It predates the forming of the BNP by 181 years. If you want to try and assign a racist connotation to it, thats your problem, not mine. If you want to try and make me out to be racist, I suggest you use the search function and read my posting history, which speaks for itself, and when you have done, maybe you'll come back and apologise for the insinuation?

Ahhh. If only we could take some pill to make us all think of things with love; there are reasons why we love as well, right?
Answer: Normal human emotions.
Unfortunately we cant love or like everything.
I think sometimes, all this political correctness does is to feed a more hidden, deeper seeded hate.
It seems to create more liars than anything; if not hypocrites: which are just as despicable-soon people wont have the guts to be anything more than 'Yes Men'. But I suppose its come to that already.LOL

Satire is just as aggressive as an outright attack; but is 'corporately acceptable'- What was that thread I saw earlier; men are loosing their Kahuna's by becoming chemically castrated?
HHHMMMMM.......it seems there may be some substance to that.

So - what you are threatening - is that if the board owners continue to try to force decorum, civility and intelligent discussion - you will take your "click" elsewhere? Perish the thought.

1) Not defending political correctness sorry. I am denouncing bigotry over superficial differences. *otherwise known as racism which is solely based on pigmentation*
2) I neither hate nor love most of humanity. Forget there is an emotion called indifference?
3) Don't question my manhood boy.
