When you've quite finished dissing the site for the sake of it, maybe you could take some time to read the explanations being offered in the thread from SO, and other staff, as to the concept we're trying to put across?

Might help you understand things better.

What you see in that one post is mockery?

That is your opinion, but I did post three times in this thread, all three posts have a combined meaning, and it was my way of making a point. My first post was an opinion on the subject, the second and third to show how with a few changes the same problems will occur. Politics seem to always find the most despicable ways to divide people. Race is simply the current tool being used.

Don't judge me entirely based on one post.

There was no mockery.

Deny ignorance?

I have no fear of pissing of racist fools.

I'm not imply you are such a person, but concerns over a potentially slower pace of new content never factored into this decision to piss off racist fools and send them packing from ATS.

This thread and ones like it cause more problems than they fix. I honestly wish moderators would just interject in the user created content they hold too much sway to start discussions because they stand out too much. If they start a thread on ice cream it would get 100 flags.

That is my rant. To put it simply i hate this thread.

LMAO - yeah, I think you ought to be deciding how the owners of the board use the board.

Why don't you go play in another free-access thread started by yourself on this board, which is owned by some one else whom you don't want to have the rights of use you are afforded on their board free of charge. That way you can address the all-consuming issue of who is getting what number of flags.

P.S. To put it simply I hate your post.

Don't get all upset it's ok moderators are big boys and can handle criticism just like i can handle yours of me i was stating my opinion on this thread just as you have there is no difference.

I welcome moderators points of view in threads created by users. IMO it is self serving to create your own opinion threads in your own forum

Its just that moderators hold a lot of clout and there are many sheepish people out there that when they see a moderator comment gush with glee and the following 10 comments are just "well said" or "great point" or "great to see moderators that are so fair and just"
it makes me cringe even if its true.

There are moderators here i like and ones i dislike just based on their comments i don't know them in rl they are all probably decent hard working people but i mean this racism business is just being talked about too much everywhere and it sucks to see it on ATS too. Even worse is that the thread was made by the site owner.

No one wants to see racism its just so straight forward but a thread will just inflame the issue just like msn is inflaming it in the mainstream media.

Sure some people who hate Obama are racist but many black people hate Republicans because its "a bunch of rich white guys" its the same thing. It exists it will happen but the majority of us aren't racist and overall everyone needs to just learn to deal with it.

I understand why you are doing this. My problem is who gets to decide what is considered "rascism" and what is not.

Can I say that acorn is bunch of crooks?

Or does it become rascist when I say acorn is a bunch of minority crooks who have spent billions of taxpayer dollars just to help out minorities get one over on the man?

When does it become rascist? When I use the "n-word"? Or is it a subjective view that a moderator gets to decide? If so, then you are inherently adding moderator biassness in to the equation.

Politics is about policies and ideas. Its about consensus, discussion and compromise. Its about persuasion and understanding.

Its nothing to do with trying to belittle people, and make them out to be inferior because of their skin colour. Any skin colour.

It may not have been directly stated, but this thread IS about an assumption that anyone opposing the president is racist because he happens to be of mixed race. It IS about the political ideology of those making this decision.

Where has anyone belittled people and made them out to be inferior because of skin colour? Where is that so rampant on this board that there needs to be a rule about it? Where?
Interesting that you chose one line to use in your argument to dismiss my entire post.
Now if you would address the rampant hatred and disguised call to violence against gay people. Why is that allowed with hardly any sign of moderation.

If this is nothing to do with politics, then where are these racist threads about skin colour? I have not come across many posts that could be considered racist. There are religiously intolerant threads and posts, there are homophobic threads and posts, but where are the racist ones?

Define for me if you will, what threads have been so bad that this decision and rule has been introduced or stressed firmly now. If we are given an example of what this is actually about then maybe we can understand and abide better by the rules.

If you really don't know the answer to that then I'd say, see ya later. You may have a better time on face book or something.

Edited for spelling.

Very clearly, it is not.

Your assumption is misplaced.

When excuses are constantly dug for to dislike someone you can be sure that there is an underlying unspoken reason. Most likely one that the individual would never admit to as it would exhibit motive.

IE: "He's a muslim! Oh, did you hear what his Christian pastor said! He's a muslim! He's a socialist! He's a Communist! He's like Hitler! He isn't even a American Citizen!" Notice the contradiction in the first part.

If you think that Obamas views on defence, health care, the economy, the middle east, foreign policy, education and other political aspects are based on his skin colour, then I think you have a problem.

He is a democrat politician. His ideas are cradled in the various beliefs of the democratic party. His political ideology is based there. Thats nothing to do with his skin tone.

Maybe if you read my posts above, you would have seen your answer. Its obvious you didn't. Maybe you should?

I'm going to ignore the rest of your post because - quite simply - I do not believe, for one second, that you have any interest in listening to what I have to say. Numerous explanations have been made on the reasons behind this move, and me listing posts and threads for you to try and justify racism and bigotry is not going to happen.

All I'm trying to do is find out what is and is not acceptable.

So far I've come up with:

Rascism: No
Rabid Homophobic posts: Yes
Rabid anti-truther posts: Yes
Rabid anti-christian, jewish, muslim posts: Yes

Am I missing something?

Why not just say that the illegal activities of Acorn are well known. You can leave the man and the minority crooks out of it.

You see how these threads go? People just start shouting at each other and no one changes their opinions.

In the end this thread will end up becoming 100+ pages of people shouting at each other and will always be on the recent posts page.

NWO loves when we debate this stuff, it is a prime distraction because it will never have a resolution there are too many layers it just divides everyone.

SO you have been conned. Ha ha. To me it is funny because I see the con. Having read 18 pages of this thread I finally saw it. I may have an advantage over most ATS's on this because I do HATE. I now know what Hate is! When you hate so bad that it makes you physically sick to be in the presence of those people you get to be able to sense real hatred. Rather than tell you the con I would rather you see it for yourself.

Pop a cold one, read a book, do whatever it takes to clear your mind and come back and read this whole thread. Don't worry much about the words at first. Look for the hatred and mark that post down. When done come back and read what that post is saying after seeing the hatred in it. I think you will be surprised by what you find.

SO you are correct that there is a problem. It is just not what you think it is. Having seen the problem I have no solution for you. I hope you do better than me.

For those of you who think they know who THOSE PEOPLE are I am referring to mark yourself down as a closet racist. I am referring to LEO's of any race. I gave no indication of who I was referring to.

Be happy ATS members. Most of you have made me proud! You are adults and most of you are NOT racists by your posts. You talk about differences without HATE. Maybe Obama is right and the time has been reached where most of us can talk about racism and clear the air. It gives me hope for the U.S. a commodity I was running short of
