Dude, I already have a good story brewing. This has been an awesome thread in that regard. It's hard to keep people on track with the opening post. You get all kinds of people who want to discredit and say that you are talking bs. When all you really asked is if this has happened to anyone. I already told you that this has not happened to me thankfully and hope it never does. As far as looking into who it may have been you have received some good suggestions in that regard. So, how do you think you will handle this?

Hey Mr Toodles, I just noticed a quote you made on your post about dealing with psychological stress. You admit that, in your own words, you :

'have become involved with alot of writing outlets here on ATS as well as some outside of the site.' You also then go on to confess that,

"Creating my own worlds seems to be more than sufficient to keep me a happy person."

So I'm sure you can understand why some people would feel a little bit sceptical about these claims. It would be a shame if your profile here on ATS is tarnished now as being linked to pranks and hoaxes. Again, I find it an interesting story and will probably keep on reading the thread. And if this really did happen, I would be genuinely interested in hearing more.....

What I will do next is wait for the next time this person contacts me and outright demand to know who they are and what they want. It is probably then that I will trace their IP just to be safe.

Maybe you forget that writers also have experiences outside of their writing. Just because I have become involved in writing outlets as I so elegantly put it, does not mean that I make up my entire world. Yes, things happen.

Hey - apologies for the slightly strong language I used in my last reply! I just edited it to tone it down a little. I am interested in hearing more about your experience though, if you are willing to share.

It isn't a story yet. It's just ideas. If you want some of them just U2U me. Really, this has been a cool thread. It's your story though. This did much better than my thread that I started one minute apart from this one!

Well in all likelyhood, it was someone who either knows me and is messing with me or a complete lunatic who is friends of a friend. Either way, the details as to why I am a threat and how I will meet my maker were kept very vague.

I even dabbled in the idea of ME being insane and the conversations never having occured. But that was quickly dismissed when I saved the convo and was able to retrieve it later.

In any case, the usual contact seems to be delayed at present. Not sure why, but if and when it happens again (I am betting some time tonight) then I will post more details.

I will state once more. If anyone has a personal experience similar to this, I would definitely be interested in hearing it.

I wish you the best in tracking down this person. I myself have never had anything like that happen to me, but I am sure it is very disturbing. Let us know how everything turns out.

Well the communication has ceased. Too bad though. I suppose this thread was made for nothing.

that is possible. I doubt if they knew of me from ATS, but I could be horribly mistaken.

The person who was contacting me has decided to leave me alone. I am inclined to believe it WAS in fact someone from ATS now. I appreciate the support I received on this matter. Perhaps exposing people like this is all that needs to happen. Social engineering at its best, as an above poster mentioned. This is cause for me to rethink the way I go about life.
