U.S.A could take over the world if they wanted to. Could they???

i doubt with the type of admin. in office at the moment
we'll be releasing any mass destructive weapons to brother countries.
America doesnt work that way unless it's really needed.

Let's be serious though, no one country has the resources nor the fodder to take over the world.

Another simple reason why U.S. would never be able to take over major countries like China and Russia is simple:
1. nuclear deterrence. If U.S. tries to invade Russia by land, they know they will get nuked and the U.S. won't exist anymore so scratch that off the list.
2. invading China by land is a joke. They have like 1 billion reserve serviceman, more than 3 times the entire population of the U.S. The U.S. would be slaughtered so the only other method they would have is
3. nuke China. And yes in an all out nuke war the U.S. would beat China because U.S. has more nukes and more sophisticated nukes but guess what?
4. The radioactive fallout from nuking China would drift into Russia and destroy much of Russia thus causing Russia to immediately respond by nuking the U.S. and wiping the U.S. off the face of the Earth...thus impossible. As you can see it's a stalemate any way you look at it because of the two nuclear superpowers proximity to each other (Russia/China). You can't nuke one of them without the other initiating an immediate nuke attack back on you because you will have ruined part of the others' country. Just imagine Russia launching an all out nuke assault on Canada, most of the fallout would blow southeast and destroy and/or contaminate the whole eastern seaboard and kill cities such as Nyc and DC don't you think that would cause the U.S. to want to nuke them back? So it's the same thing here.

You can imagine how they would report to the US people on why they are going about attacking every nation on the planet :

Good Evening , this is Fox News. We are going straight to our washington reporter on todays breaking news on Al Qaeda cells being found in Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria ,..............(30 minutes later) ...... Virgin Islands, Yemen, Zambia , Zimbabwe.

Not really. US hegemony, for what it was, peaked at the turn of the century. It is now in decline due to rising powers in Asia. Economically, China and Japan hold the US by the danglies and even to a lesser extent EU countries such as the UK own alot of US debt.

The US enjoyed 15 odd years of unchallenged military supremacy. This is now on the wane, partly due to the economic crisis but mainly due to the big Asian powers flexing and growing. We are now in a mulit-polar world and not one single power could ever really "conquer" the world.

Can you imagine them trying to find all these countries on a map ? And trying to dig up reasons to bad mouth all these nations like they do Venezuela and Iran ? They would go frantic with the confusion of it all. We wouldn't need to bomb them, just send the medical orderlies over there to round up all the dazed and frothing at the mouth population and put them away in their fema camps.

Thier is no way the United States could ever take over the world, LOOK how long it took them in Iraq and that was just 1 country, to even have a chance to get even close we would have to have every adult 18 to 50 and then we still would not have enough speacially to keep control the world is just to big for the United States to take control without allies, doesn't matter though have you all forgoten the world is ending in 2012 we definitly don't have time we need at least 200 years to take control by our selfs we would be NUKED in the process.

What are you talking about? We already either run or subsidize 60% of it right now. And how is that going? Empire building and the NWO has to be stopped.

And Russia has the fastest planes, the most advanced rockets, and the most number of nuclear warheads.

So no, the US can't.

LoL the US would be out gunned, out numbered, out flanked on every location.

All the world would have to do is take out 16 of the US satellites and the US would be screwed. In other words a lot less GPS and communication to work the hardware needed to even defend them selves from a retaliation.

After just a few hours the US would have to fight the world just like they did in the second world war This gap ain't that big.

After a few weeks the US would have to replace their transportation with horses and cattle.

A lot of their defence industry is now sub contracted out to china now anyway . Soon as any kind of US war against the world starts up, I'm guessing those defence parts , components, munitions and supplies would come to a sudden halt. So, they would have only a limited time to achieve this goal before they'd have to resort to using abusive language against us.

We have toys that could dust Russian equipment that we don't even bother to bring out of mothballs... we sell 3rd generation stuff, use 2nd generation stuff and keep the real stuff to ourselves.

We could kick the living daylights out of the planet...

And therein is the problem and the real reason our half a Trillion black budget is useless and so is our other Trillion per year we spend...

We can BEAT anyone, anytime.

But we can't even use 1/10th of what we can do without giving it away, so we fight our wars even with smaller nations largely conventionally and take losses

And if we did use what we could... what good would that be?

We can't "occupy" the world all we can do is blow it up, that is essentially useless unless the "world" tries to gang up on us.... which will never happen.

So in essence we have paid for Bazookas to swat flies with... complete waste of money.

We can get the flies, but then we would no longer have a house worth living in...

Maybe we get lucky and Aliens invade and most of what we have built wont rot away the centuries

There would be one advantage to this kind of war . It'll be the only situation ever where you would not get killed by american 'friendly' fire.

The US wants world peace. It wants governments to be kind to their citizens. It promotes health and security, food development, self-defense, and cooperation with neighboring countries.

The US is not an imperialistic nation. We want our military to be safe and well supplied to prevent wars and terrorist attacks. We appreciate each veteran that serves. We do not want to waste their time or their lives in pursuit of conquering the world.

what i think is the american government has a specific aim to achive behind this all war thing... they are into some deep #.!

Dude, you are too funny. The scary thing is, I realy think you believe that. But what you don't seem to realise is if the USA went after the BIG boys and not some kitty litter tray country then the USA along with he rest of the planet would die, no ifs no buts ALL of us would be dead.

Now please don't think I'm bashing you or America, I'm not. There is however one fundamental problem, how would the US people react? the American people have enjoyed relative safety over the years even during the WW2 because of where the country lies and the fact that technology was not very advanced back then.

Think back to 9/11 when these buildings came down. Now imagine that devestation city wide, city after city, because now some countries do have the technology to deliver high Ex/nuke/bio whatever, right to your door.
