This article is creating a lot of controversy and debate here in Canada this afternoon. Personally I don't see the problem in shipping these body bags and being prepared. If anything the real complaint should be that these body bags weren't sent soon enough. Instead the complaint is that the body bags WERE sent to the reserves. Considering Aboriginals were hit hardest during the 1st wave here in Manitoba and deaths are occurring all around the globe I don't understand why the First Nations are complaining about receiving body bags. Other cities and provinces stocked up on body bags also. What's the problem in being prepared? I'm confused!

I think it is mainly because the Natives in Canada, especially in the more remote parts of Manitoba, are all but extinct as it is. Imagine you are in a reserve, people dropping like flies around you, and your requests for government aid materialize in the form of face masks and body bags. What kind of message does it send?

Because lets be honest, the people on Parliament Hill would be more than happy to see the Natives wiped out and their land claims evaporated, especially where I am here in BC.

Natives in Canada, are in a very hard time right now. Their culture is vanishing, and the worst drug they face is not even alcohol, it's gasoline. They are inhaling gasoline by the gallon and not even spending the money on booze.

I'm sure whatever was sent to them, they'd complain about.

If I was on a reserve watching my people fall to the point of gasoline addiction, and suddenly a bunch of body bags were delivered, I'd be outraged.
