The first Western leader to expressly admit knowledge of an Iranian nuclear weapons program, French president Nicolas Sarkozy said: "It is a certainty to all of our secret services. Iran is working today on a nuclear (weapons) program." He added: "We cannot let Iran acquire nuclear" weapons because it would also be a threat to Israel." Sarkozy spoke during a meeting at the Elysee presidential palace with lawmakers from his UMP party Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The French president said he would not shake the hand (of Iran's president at the UN General Assembly) of "someone who wants to wipe Israel off the map."

DEBKAfile's militlary sources add:

French intelligence has thus gone further than US intelligence agencies which maintained in an assessment to leaked to the media on Sept. 10: "Iran has created enough nuclear fuel to make a rapid, if risky, spring for a nuclear weapon," and "Iran has deliberately stopped short of the critical last steps to make a bomb."

France is one of the five permanent UN Security Council members with veto powers. Together with Germany they have agreed to meet Iranian representatives on Oct. 1 for talks, although Tehran insists they will not cover its "inalienable nuclear rights."

Well of course somebody from the EU would be pushing for a war that does not need to happen. After all, the EU will play no small part in the establishment of the New World Order - coming to a union near YOU.

Those who think Iran will use this technology for evil purposes are blinded by their own ignorance. Iran is not a real threat to Israel...just look at the facts of the situation. Really think about it. Do you think Iran would attack Israel knowing what consequences it would result in?

Also it would be very unlikely for a country as small as Israel to be the ONLY country affected by a nuclear weapon in the area. In other words, Iran would be harming other countries too if they used a nuclear weapon on Israel. Please try and have a neutral stance on the situation, people.

First the French said that an attack on Iran s not the solutin and Diplomatic efforts ar to be persued

And this "Wipe out ISrael from the Map" ws already explained by Ahmadinejad that its a common saying over there...

, "Ahmadinejad did not say he was going to 'wipe Israel off the map' because no such idiom exists in Persian". Instead, "He did say he hoped its regime, i.e., a Jewish-Zionist state occupying Jerusalem, would collapse."[13]

Iran having a nuke may be a threat to Israel (if they did have one). But Israel having multiple nukes, hiding them, and not signing up to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is a threat to the world.

Of course if Iran had nuclear weapons ready to be deployed they would have already used them on Israle or the United States or its allies.They would be idiots to fire thoses nuclear weapons from there own country anyway.They would proberly fire thoses weapons from another country for two reasons.One
reason is to cover themselfs and put blame on another country.The second reason is to use forigners in the deployment of there nuclear weapons as to again cover themselfs and denie any involvement in the attack.They like north korea could pay other people big money in other countries to deploy there own weapons.Some africian countries would be a canditate there.

Or maybe they would not use them,just use the threat of their use to stop bigger bullying countries from messing with their territory?

I think Sarkozy may be biased in favor of Israel,as his mother was Jewish

A non biased person would maybe first start with the issue of the many non admitted Israeli nuclear warheads,and the fact that Israel has not signed the NPT,rather than whining on about Irans nuclear ambitions.
