The United Nations fact-finding mission into the Gaza offensive describes Israel as perpetrating war crimes - a police state which persecutes minorities - and tars the Palestinian leadership in the Gaza Strip and West Bank with similar accusations.

If its findings and recommendations are accepted, the International Criminal Court in The Hague could call a summit meeting between the leaders of Israel, Hamas and the Palestinian Authority on the defendants' stand.

But the ultimate adjudicator on the report's fate will be Barack Obama, who now has another whip with which to flay Benjamin

This is a very interesting article because it shows that even Israel can be held accountable for it's behaviour towards other nations..

To me though, it leaves one question ringing loud..

..that is, if Israel is going to be dragged before the Criminal court for war crimes, shouldn't also certain members of the George W Bush administration also spend a little time facing up to some real questions in the Hague as well?

I absolutely accept that there more than likely were war crimes commited by Israel in their assult on Hamas earlier this year, and if found guilty they should be brought to justice.

But what i don't get is why Bush, Cheney or Rumsfield are not being charged for crimes against humanity for the numerous torture that went on in prison camps during the Bush years?

And that's not to even mention the countless unacceptable war crimes that have occured in Iraq and Afganistan since the US launched it's ILLEGAL invasion back in 2001.

I'm not even going to get into the whole 9/11 inside job discrace... that day is coming soon enough though... look at Charlie Sheens recent campaign to meet Obama, things are really heating up. Which makes me fearful that the powers that be will try and pull another false flag to distract people away from these issues.

No offense, but when did Israel ever care what the UN thought about them? I say this not in a flippant way, but Israel what do whatever it deems in it's best interest, regardless of world opinion. There is not much hand wringing in Israel over it's treatment of Gaza.

Like it will mean a thing. No one wants to call out this crybaby nation.

Should not the leaders of a country do what they deem is in the best interest of the nation they are responsible for?

Well in light of these revelations, is it really that far-fetched to believe what the germans said of the jews during world war 2, and if it turns out that what they said was the truth then it means we've all been living a lie, and that millions upon millions of innocents were murdered for nothing.

That's a blindly ignorant statement that ignores every fact about the nazi's. You should be ashamed of yourself! You cannot be that old if you think so naively!

I wouldn't take too much stock in a UN 'fact-finding' mission. Anti-Semitism is the group think of the UN. They will condemn Israel, of course.

The fact that a Court is 'International' does not in and of itself mean that is not a biased court. Who established the Court? What powers empowered it to operate as a Court? Chances are the very same people and powers many of us would like to see tried by it.

Justice is often blind, and the scales can often be tipped through intercedence that undermines the very notion of Justice.

The International Court is simply another way for the Powers that Be to persecute with the veneer and patina of Law and Legitimacy those people and nations that the Powers that Be are having a hard time controlling or conquesting.

When your friends with the Judge and the Court your speeding ticket is dismissed, if your friends of a friend of the Judge and the Court your fine is reduced and you can make convenient payments, when your the enemy of the friends of the Judge and the Court, your fine goes up, and if you can't pay it you go to jail, when you are enemies of the Judge and the Court, well they throw the book at you.

I wouldn't look for anyone with a name like Bush or Sharon being hauled in front of the International Court of the Haugue, and in reality never, if your name is Rothschild or Rockefeller, not a chance in a billion years, same is true if your name is Windsor, if you are a Somalia War Lord though...you got problems!

It's real easy for Israel to go to war again.

Just as in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973, they were attacked and responded.

Ok, for starters, the germans said that the jews have a stranglehold on international media, either controlling or manipulating, so those facts about the nazi's could be nothing more then grotesque propaganda. So the notion i put forward is neither blind or ignorant, but with the whole picture and the evidence that comes with that, actually comes forward with a feasible answer.

Jews have been at the front of minority rights, anti-racism,homosexual rights and the notion that there is no such thing as race / all races are equal and yet when it comes to israel, these things simply don't apply.

So before you go making emotionally charged statements saying im using blind ignorance, look at your own and look at the evidence!

Israel has always done what Israel deemed necessary to protect itself (without regard for other nations views). I don't believe that Israel cares what the findings are or whether they are brought before a court.

I am not defending Israel or condeming it, I just think they don't worry what anyone else thinks and that will not change going forward. If rockets target it's population again we will see them invade again.

That region of the world has had armed conflict for centuries and it will continue until the region is eventually destroyed. I think Israel will strike Iran in the next couple of months and have to strike Palestine/Lebanon in the aftermath of that attack.

Maybe I am wrong but the things I read make me feel that something will happen with Iran......we'll just have to wait and see......

Now this is coming from before the 1900's when nearly nothing on the list had been done, no world wars etc. and today nearly every single item on the list runs true as having been done.

and lastly an example is the USS liberty incident in which Israel attacked a US ship in the hopes of sinking it and blaming the arabs in order to bring america into the war.

I can't believe you are quoting from the Tsarist Elders of Zion propaganda.

Jews don't control squat as a whole. Sure there are some Jewish Individuals or Individuals of Jewish ancestry in the Infotainment industry, but that has nothing to do with Jews as an entire People.

There are over 1 million Haredi (Ultra Orthodox) Jews that are comprised of groups like the Hasidic Jews and the Chabad Lubavitch movement that have very little money, influence and many oppose Zionism.

Yet people want to lump all Jews together. That is prejudiced crap that ignores facts.
