Nice, why would a passanger jet fy over the city? Judging by the map it coud have avoided the major city by loads.

It depends on where it was coming from and its approach path. If it needed to approach from the east (due to the wind conditions), then it would fly over populated areas.

As for why fly over the city...planes fly directly over cities all the time. As a passenger, I remember flying directly over Pittsburgh's and Philadelphia's downtown areas on several occasions. Heck, when you fly in to Reagan National Airport in DC, it seems you can almost touch the Lincoln Memorial (although it is across the river)...and don't forget about that plane that landed in the Hudson River a few months ago. Its flight path took it directly to the west of Manhattan Island.

HOWEVER, having said that, it seems to me that the video in question and my map show the plane well south of the "skyscraper" portion of the city.

Pardon me if I insert some civil research into this thread.
Both sides here seem to be curious as to what this object is, so let's proceed...

Haydn_17 - What news program where you watching this morning, when you filmed this on the TV?

And where do you live (what city, country...)

That should be a good starting point for acquiring the original broadcast footage.

Thanks for your help! Let me know and I'll try to find the original footage.

I'm pretty sure it's just a helicopter that changes direct toward the camera. that would explain how the light got seemingly brighter - it was just directed more toward the camera than previously.

At least that's my hoot on it.

Looks like a good one:

Very bright as they forgot TV cameras put up the vibrations of the UFO.
Not spiritual vibration but the levitating voltage of the proper Tesla coil.
High speed current is bouncing of the Foo, which goes slow to dim visible
light but not electronic radiation that shows up on light and electromagnetic
wave sensitive equipment.

^posted on youtube^

The UFO machine used to try and look like a civilian plane but now
go 20 30 mph to look like a chopper since so many are around.
The reduced speed turns down the generated light generation of
the air but not the radiation picked up by cameras.

Back to the drawing board for the cover committee.

From what they were saying, it seems the were talking about the death of Patrick Swayze -- which is another reason (besides the buildings matching up) that I think the skyline was that of Los Angeles.

No -- I saw that one on the website, too. That one is a "canned" obituary of Patrick Swayze. This seemed more like a news report -- perhaps the presenter was doing entertainment news from Hollywood...

...its hard to tell because we only caught the last part of the segment.

Soylent - I'm having a busy day here at work, I posted the email for their contact people...

Would you mind sending them a letter asking if we can have the file posted at their site?

Thanks

I live about 2 miles from an airport (luckily out of the flight path). Sometimes I go to the end of the runway to observe in a Wayne/Garth manner (just without the fantasising over Miss Bugs Bunny).

It looks just like a plane turning towards the camera, just like a plane turning towards the approach I'm sat at the end of. Of course it may not be, however that's what it looked like to me.

Apparently this is not the first 'UFO' to appear on the BBC Breakfast cameras.
It seems that they will at least look into it...

www.thesun.co.uk...

I've scoured the site for the video, but no dice. I found a page where the videos are supposed to be, but nobody is actually posting them. The links lead to a 'Sorry this video not available' page, for every day this week (didn't check further back...)

Soylent, did you contact them? Perhaps I should? let me know... I'll bet they'll give us the raw video...

It's all good mate, I should have been more clear when I was saying the quality was terrible.

To reiterate, the quality makes it very hard to analyse.
