* Radeon HD 5870 is anywhere between 5~155 percent faster than GeForce GTX 285. That's a huge range, and leaves a lot of room for uncertainty.
* When compared to GeForce GTX 295, its performance ranges between -25 percent (25% slower) to 95 percent (almost 2x faster), another broad range.
* When two HD 5870 cards are set up in CrossFire, the resulting setup is -5 percent (5% slower) to 90 percent faster than GeForce GTX 295. Strangely, the range maximum is lesser than that on the single card.
* When three of these cards are setup in 3-way CrossFireX, the resulting setup is 10~160 percent faster than a GeForce GTX 295.
* The Radeon HD 5850 on the other hand, can be -25 percent (25% slower) to 120 percent faster than GeForce GTX 285.

That's pretty fast but 3 vs 1? I wonder how fast they are with a GeForce GTX 295 in SLI dual or quad?

Yeah.I regret buying another gtx 260 before waiting for the newATI/Nvidia series.I didn't think the performance increase would be all that great compared to the jump say the 8800gt made...Plus SLI scaling is bad in most games. For me anyway.

If you don't like your GTX 260, I'll trade ya my GeForce 9600 GSO for it.

I've got a 640mb 8800gts based on the G80 chip, it plays crysis at near full detail, GTA IV has no problems, somehow I don't think i'll be upgrading, besides i've only had it a couple of years and it cost 400 quid (about $600?) when new, I get good performance on all the latest games couple with my E8400 C2D (o.c'ed to 4.23Ghz), I can't really justify buying something better just yet.

lol No i like it,but single card solutions are far better imo anyway than SLI setups. Most of the time i have it turned off because like i said..the scaling is very bad hence performance increase is nothing to write home about, sometimes i get even worse performance along with micro stuttering. Not going to upgrade though...my next upgrade will be when the I7 price is much much lower.Right now i still have my E7200 cpu...it gets by though since its overclocked to 4ghz.Plus if you are playing at a low resolution cpu plays a more important role along with what type of game it is.GPU doesn't get utilized as much at say 1280x1024 compared to 1920x1200.

Ps this is the first time i have logged into BTS!
