Yep defo not an F-18!

I'd go with Harrier too right now - but don't those intaces look a little squared off to you?

I dunno - I've seen a few of these type of vids - here's a rocking A-10 one...

Now his 'hat' well I don't know the proper term for it but it looks like a ground crews headset. - edit: They come strapped on real good!

As as for the camera man - well wouldn't you flinch a little - I know I would!! - and the angle looks like the camera operator is crouched to make the angle make the plane look closer to the guy.

Its not a F-18. Its a french jaguar or something like that. Its a french soldier standing on the air field/road. And i bet its somewhere in Africa.

The cameraman was standing to the side.... aircraft push air to the sides at that spead like a ship cutting through water...

And the helmet was what my brother used to call a cranium when he was a "plane captain" in the navy

Looks like a Mirage F1.

Look at the anhedral of the wings, AND tailplane. This automatically excludes the Harrier, Super Etendard, Jaguar, and maybe the Alpha Jet.

It sounds like a Mirage F1, they are pretty distinctive...

Sweetest job ever.

Watch 1:05 - 1:15... 1:25 good lord.

Love the shape of the Mirage F1...

perhaps the vid in the OP was from the Wild Fly series?

I'm betting it's real. It's not the first time we've seen something similar, particularly with a French Aircraft. Also, it was likely not the wind that pushed the cameraman down, rather, the cameraman flinching. Even at airshows, people can miss camera shots because they're trying to protect their ears... because it's so loud, not because of the wind (although a B-1 almost blew me over once, the air was nice and toasty. )

Found this vid.

LMAO.

My understanding is you don't need perfect 20/20 vision. On the RAAF website it says 20/40 (worse than 20/20), unaided, unguided. I've heard other sources say up to 20/70, and then there's always Laser Eye Surgery.

Watch the end of Little Miss Sunshine. Dwayne says that if he wants to fly he will find a way to fly.

yeah its more of a slight blindness in my left eye that can only be sorted with a cornial graft. so Im hardly Top Gun material.Nowadays I guess i would also have a moral problem of dropping bombs on people. don't really like war. Just always had a fascination with Fighter jets.
