where is the surprise when Glen Beck and fox are telling viewers to be at this demonstration?

Its not a grass roots thing,a certain media station is a sour loser from the last election and is taking back handers from the pharma/insurance companies. The current economic problems we are facing were caused by your last goverment and my soon to be replaced goverment!

I LOL at some on this thread with mouth full of rotten teeth(Must have a british bood in them) and knackered bodies who marched against this even when there insurance covers hardly anything for them. They realy are turkeys voting for Christmas!

I think the liberals need to fight for health care if they want it,dont allow decrepid old farts on the other side of the political spectrum dominate the air waves and net band width with bare faced lies.Take it too them

As for this topic, looks like 100 thousand to me-thats still a big group!Well done Beck

Quite simply, If you were not in attendance you have no clue as to the size of the crowd. The amount of gridlock. The side streets that funneled in.
I was there. I never stepped foot on Pennsylvania Ave. You could not get to it. I am an area resident. I drove. Why? Because I knew Metro would be a mess. I figured I would park far away and walk to the Capitol. Locals usually would never drive in. We know better.

There were over 450 buses of people. People took Metro, We drove, we walked many blocks just to get there. RFK stadium was used for parking.

Everyone that attended had their own issues for being there. It was peaceful. People were respectful of each other and of the Capitol. Trash was put in trash cans. People cleaned up their trash.

An announcement was made, the Capitol police said we did not have a permit of the Mall and must move. The people’s response, "It's our Mall" .

The bottom line is, you can argue number all day. Those of us that attended KNOW. You can speculate on the peoples reasons for being there.

For my self this is an issue of we have allowed the power to shift from the people to Big Gov. Many are waking up to this fact.

It's about the Constitution!

How ironic is it that this is the first I have heard about this march and the number of attendees? The media would never say there were so many people in Washington DC marching against obamascare! The media is so out of touch with more then half of the American people! GO USA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BOOOOOOOO obama and his socialists puppy dogs!

And can i ask you WHY you attended?

What was the reason for you to go ?

2 basic questions here

1 do you think being ripped off is ok?

2 do you think the government is trying to "rob" you ?

and then be for you answer this

Do you Print the money you claim to be yours ? NO

Do you understand what the Government IS? / its programs ?

because all i seem to hear is KEEP GOVERNMENT OUT

when the basic fact is that YOU pay for EVERYTHING not the government

the is one word GOVERNMENT is one confusing and 2 stupid...

we SEND them to REPRESENT US because WE ARE TO LAZY to BOTHER to do it..

and you wish to go protest about HEALTH CARE? fine

Now GO and protest about the FED go an protest about the fact the USA spends MORE than ALL the nations ON THIS PLANET ON ITS MILITARY THAN ALL THE OTHER NATIONS ON EARTH PUT TO GETHER

then come back to me and go and PROTEST and argue over 250k 1.5 million

DOES IT MATTER? i mean really? cmon?

538 has a good article on the number that attended this event. The Obama inauguration was close to 2 million. There is no way that tea bagger crowd was even close. It appears the large number reported was a deliberate lie.

538 - Size matters, so do lies

But yesterday, someone told a real whopper. ABC News, citing the DC fire department, reported that between 60,000 and 70,000 people had attended the tea party rally at the Capitol. By the time this figure reached Michelle Malkin, however, it had been blown up to 2,000,000. There is a big difference, obviously, between 70,000 and 2,000,000. That's not a twofold or threefold exaggeration -- it's roughly a thirtyfold exaggeration.

The way this false estimate came into being is relatively simple: Matt Kibbe, the president of FreedomWorks, lied, claiming that ABC News had reported numbers of between 1.0 and 1.5 million when they never did anything of the sort. A few tweets later, the numbers had been exaggerated still further to 2 million. Kibbe wasn't "in error", as Malkin gently puts it. He lied.

Apparently I was unclear in my post.
I understand more than many people.
All of the above reasons you site and many more would be of little to no issue if the government was held to what our constitution allows.

The 10th amendment spells it out very clearly. " The powers not delegated to the United States by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

If We the people had not allowed this to be disgregarded we would not be discussing these many issues.

Personally, Health care is not my major issue. Where did I mention health care in my post?
My issues are the Fed, illegal Wars, out of control spending, corruption, the Patriot Act, ect... Basically the overt usurpation of MY Rights as a citizen.

In my heart I wanted to be there. But, honestly, who really cares how many. The MSM is NEVER going to report this accurately as they don't want to admit success. And that's another thing, do numbers equate to success? How many people do you need in order to have a successful march?

What makes this successful or not is whether or not there is any impact from this. So far, I have't seen where one politician or lobbyist is shaking in their boots because a bunch of people marched in Washington. This isn't going to stop the corruption. People holding signs aren't going to cause lobbyists to "see the light" as they are corrupted.

Sure, we can all feel good about what happened and how many people showed up, but the government must once again fear the people and I don't think we're there quite yet.

We are closer then you think. How many people wanted to be there and couldn't. I went by myself. Being female not someting I wanted to do. But I felt if you don't use your voice then you can't complain. I could blog or whatever. Lots of good that will do. We need to be in their faces. Everyone I know was unable or unwilling to go. I debated not going. I would estimate personally 15-20 people I know that could not go but wanted to. I would think that is averagefor most that did attend. Regardless of where the numbers are that you think attended. Think of it this way and that is a huge number of like minded people.

No Way 60,000! I have seen pics that have over 60,000 in one pic and it doesn't even cover the whole group. Park Service estimated at least 1.2 million!

what i want to know is

why there were not 2 million people outside the capitol protesting when we were bombing an innocent people and causing death and destruction...

why?

why is this thing so much more important?

oh ya..because it will affect each and everyone of us throuh our walletsmoney (jesus we are pathetic)... where a missile going off above a town square maming an entire family has no affect on you or me...

well...being the dumb people we are...just because we dont realize the reprocussions now...i guarantee you..it will have an affect on us (america)..their will be reprocussions one way or another...

oh, and if you wanna take this is an Obama thing..then get real..i voted ron paul...period.

i couldnt get behind this if my life depended on it..due to the utter hypocrasy of the very same american people who let the war happen and sat there and cheered during "shock and awe"... but now are complaining "spending" has gone through the roof"...wtf??...

Pretty Obvious you don't get any of your current information from FOX. They blame Bush as much as Obama for current conditions. They do not play the race card like MSNBC and CNN, And, at two of the Tea Party Protests that I can vouch for over the weekend, featured African American Key Note speakers. Wow , how racist is that? The movement is not about Obama as a man, its about his policies for which we know that he is just a mouthpiece for the Democrats who got complicit with radical socialist-communist movements and organizations such as ACORN and SEIU and traditional left leaning labor unions for a power grab. You know they wanted to win at all cost. How many people do you think would have voted democratic and specifically for Obama if they ran thier campaign on the socialist-communist platform that they now espouse from office? And the Czars, how many is he up to now, 30+..These Czars are not elected officials and have no right creating policy for American Citizens.

Its about BIG GOVERNMENT. Not Race.

I was pointing the very same thing

www.abovetopsecret.com...

as you can see i am very aware of your "rights" and that is my gripe with some posts on here

In relation to health care .. i do not see why people would be so miffed when you have better things to kick butts about than universal health care

get what am sayin?

Odd...when they were lining the bankers pockets with colossal bailouts, the American people seemed to just shrug and go along with it, but as soon as someone suggests an initiative that actually helps the people, they are up in arms over it?

BTW....did anyone notice that there ALSO was another pre-planned event that day, on the Mall??

The "BlacK Family ReUnion"

Ironic, isn't it? All the protesters with signs showing President Obama with Hitler moustache or in clown make-up....

A certain, and one cannot deny it, element of racism at work there.

But, of course, as noted by local media, some of the "Tea Party" folks mingled at the ReUnion...because they had food.....
