again..where were you when Fox did the same to Left Wing protests..???

Lets be honest. Fox is one voice in a sea of left wing parrots. When the anti-Bush protests were going on, Fox provided a different point of view from everyone else in the MSM. There is no doubt that they went after protesters a few times, like when code pink and Berkly tried to kick out Marine recruiters. However, every single other network news was supporting these protests.

Now, its just the opposite. Every single MSM network+Hollywood, but Fox attacks and demonizes the protest. In both cases, Fox is the lone voice. No matter how you look at it, the left wing MSM is a much larger problem. They have a lot more power and influence on the population.

Good thing you progressive types are for gun control.

You're weakness is inherent to the system you support; that is you expect to be taken care of. People who love freedom have to take care of themselves. Guess which type of attitude will dominate over the other?

Not to mention it is the freedom lovers who have the guns to defend the constitution and our freedom from your agenda.

You have a right to your beliefs but you do not have a right to trample on my freedom and I and the protesters in D.C. today choose to employ the first amendment and then as a last resort the second amendment to make sure that does not happen.

The same is true for all except the infirm, the very young and the very old.

What say ye about these groups?

The very young are taken care of by people who can take care of themselves and choose to raise children and take on that burden on their own. As well the old chose to save and invest money along the way so they could take care of their needs as well once they are retired.

It is the socialists who do not follow this line of thinking. It is the progressives who cannot take care of themselves in the first place then decide to bear children and expects someone else to take care of them. That is the wrong attitude.

We all fall down and we all need help once in a while but we should not be a burden to our fellow man. That is to say I don't want to pay for your laziness nor do I expect anyone to pay for mine. If I take care of myself then I have earned the right to live how I wish with no limitations as long as I do not harm anyone else.

I could not say what I wanted to say. Hello kraken, endisnighe here, for your information I have been opening eyes to the Two Party Paradigm since my father (AF Major-N. Korea and Vietnam Vet) opened my eyes when I was 10-32 years ago. Have not paid taxes since Reagan stole the Social Security Funds and began this downward spiral. Sorry for your upbringing, I am sure your parents never taught you anything about politicians. The only place you probably learned anything, was in public schools. Was your favorite class social problems taught by some left wing nut?

Once again someone thinks they know exactly who I am from one simple question. You know nothing of me, my upbringing or my parents. That kind of info is none of your business and really doesn't belong in this conversation.

So the orphans can be dropped off at the trash dump legally as in Rome?

As well the old chose to save and invest money along the way so they could take care of their needs as well once they are retired.

And what of those who by no fault of their own have lost everything? Throw them away too?

Who is sounding like a Nazi now?

It is the socialists who do not follow this line of thinking.

No, it is the civilized. You espouse Roman values, I espouse Celtic and Scandanavian values.

It is the progressives who cannot take care of themselves in the first place then decide to bear children and expects someone else to take care of them.

I don't recall any stipulation on be fruitful and multiply.

That is the wrong attitude.

Says you and your Roman ilk.

We all fall down and we all need help once in a while but we should not be a burden to our fellow man.

Indeed we shouldn't, yet some cannot help but be that way. The man with pancreatic cancer, the woman whose house was flooded in New Orleans, the child thrown away on the side of the road.

I'm all about self reliance... I even made a thread on it (check my signature). But there is a huge difference between being self reliant and being completely devoid of compassion for others.

That is to say I don't want to pay for your laziness nor do I expect anyone to pay for mine.

You assume all need for support comes through laziness.. what a simpletons way to reduce reality... sad indeed. Your day will come, and I hope your words echo back to you in full THX.

If I take care of myself then I have earned the right to live how I wish with no limitations as long as I do not harm anyone else.

[edit on 12-9-2009 by Anonymous Avatar]

HAH! Not so.. that is an illusion. Might makes right, and nothing more. You have no rights which are not protected by others. This you have forgotten.

You owe everything to your fellow American who consents to protect your right to live how you wish. Yet you feel you owe nothing to the society in which you find your fortune....

That is the the attitude of a pariah. Though you say you wish not to be a burden, your very stance is a burden on society in which you have your very life.

It's like they took every Wal-Mart shopper in America and teleported them all to DC at the same time. These people might really believe in what their protesting, but it takes big industry lobbyists to get them out of their chairs which they've obviously spent A LOT of time in. Seriously, there's more love handles than gadsen flags. More hunchbacks than nice racks.

Oh yeah, and not a single person of color in sight. Or a cop in riot gear.

Obama was sent a message today, but it wasn't from middle America. It was from corporate America.

And BTW, this is how you protest the global financial elite.

Great photos!! Thank you for posting them. Seems like people were having a pretty good time. I would have loved to go, but I'm too busy trying to make more money in this evil capitalistic system while I still can before it's taken away to pay for everyone else.
I am thrilled to see such a big turnout, it's good to see real Americans come together and unite against their government. Funny how history repeats itself.

Thanks again SD!!!! I really enjoyed those.

That's the sad part. "Collective action" designed by corporate America or those that do their bidding is "patriotic", but "collective action" designed by organizations that truly support We The People against corporatism are "communistic", "socialist", non patriotic.

I saw a number of blacks and other minorities there. The Asians could have been tourists, however.
Unlike liberal protestors, we are civilized, so no need for police in riot gear.

REALLY???

WOW, whoddathunk that the Founding Fathers were Liberals???

Last I checked, The 1st Amendment guarantees the right to freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.

I wonder if James Madison considered himself a Liberal

The asians could have been tourists? Were they wearing cameras around their necks and asking you take a picture of them?

As for the police presence, it's not that you're more civilized, it's that you're the status quo. You were all just asking for a tax cut.

The police presence at the G20 protests later this month will be much more heavy handed and intimidating. They're already fighting it by denying permits for march routes and places to camp and what not. The reason they're doing that is because the protesters will be there to embarrass the established global order.

I'm not saying the protests will be larger. In fact I doubt it. The anti-globalization movement essentially died on 9/11. Now, after 8 years of economic PLUNDER by the financial elites the economy is in shambles and you so called "patriots" have the gall to be outraged over anything.

You weren't outraged by war spending, jobs going overseas, or the fact that the middle class has been steadily losing ground to the super wealthy for years!

Get a clue! You protested against your own interests today.

Wow man. Do the rules of simple equity no longer apply? The USA (and merely British America before then) was PROFOUNDLY "conservative" if by "conservative" one means Protestant Christian, White, Anglo-Saxon, hard working, risk taking, law-abiding and patient people who loved their God and their families. Oh yeah, and who happened to build a great state from scratch, from the very living rock and wilderness itself.

One might expect a Leftist, that is to say, a Bolshevik or Jacobite revolutionary, would understand the status quo owes you nothing but resistance and violence. One need never be "fair" to the revolutionary, especially alien revolutionaries from Eastern Europe's ghettos with very large, very inappropriate chips on their shoulders.

NOTE: Since this is ATS after all, I should clarify my use of the word "alien". I do not mean little green/grey or silver men. I mean persons without claim (a-lien); foreigners; interlopers; outsiders; etc.

Asian tourists really do carry cameras around their necks in DC and take pictures of everything.

Actually, we want the government to abide by the Constitution.

War spending got us out the the internet bubble recession and the hit the economy took after 9/11.

Unions drove American jobs to the 3rd world.

The vast majority of the wealthy in America became wealthy through hard work.
