Grew up in London, Swiss Cottage/St. John's Wood area. My backyard was Primrose Hill Park.
Primary school in Hamstead, secondary in Knightsbridge.

For all the differences, still miss it.

England has its pluses as well as it's minuses. Here in the states you can see the differences right off. Healthcare, shopping, pay and the like.

But for all it's faults, the land, the culture, the people. . . still miss it.

It is why I see more similarities with Brown and Obama than most would.

It is also why if a spark does ignite, would burn not just here, but everywhere.

it could burn everywhere, we'll have to see when it happens because we all know its going to happen.

If it could wait for 2 months for me to pass my driving test i would be a help for everyone

Next I could see a grass roots movement to get honest public servants elected into office, in all areas of gov't. I would bet on the Libertarian platform for that.

I am usually an idealist and hopeless optimist, I have to admit I've run out of steam.

The notion of getting honest public servants to fill every elected office seems about as impossible to me as ensuring all religious leaders are holy, and making ice cream free to everyone for ever.

I do not think that it will ever happen. The system is set up to prevent that, and the populace is too disinterested to do anything.

I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.

"Why hasn’t they're been a spark yet?"

"Why hasn’t they're been a spark yet?"

Here is a thought! What if the fuse had been tried to be lit several times but was successfully extinguished by those who had the intelligence to foresee the consequences. Did someone try to light this fuse in the Moffet AFB incident with the missing nuke. What about the more recent incident involving the Artic Sea, the ship alleged to have bee hijacked involving rumored NUKes headed for Iran was this another attempt to light a fuse? And if these are attempts to light that fuse, how much longer before one is finally lit?

I bring this up because I am reminded of what a person who I admire and trust once told me. "Earth can be looked at as a school for learning. Those who learn advance a grade. those who don't are set back a grade. Here in this school one lives out their karma. they are paid back for the good deeds and their bad ones in lives and likened to school grades. There are those who have lived lives without harming others and have therefore graduated form this school called Earth. These are powerful beings. they see misery, death, as well as happiness and potential in the people as they go through school or lives to better themselves. These beings remain impartial and unaffected by what they see these school kids doing. Because they know what a disservice it would be to choose sides and protect one from the evils of another. Nobody learns, nobody wins when the school is interrupted. This game of school has been going on for thousands of years with few interruptions. The only time this school game has been interrupted is when the entire school itself is threatened. Then everyone loses. When someone threatens to blow up the entire school will these powerful beings be known."

Every time someone say's, "It's a miricle we are not all dead" or It's a miricle this planet has not been blown to bits with all this hate and Nukes everywhere" or as the OP puts it, "Why has a spark no been started" I am reminded of the story above.

We live in interesting times. Something’s are happening now which cannot be explained in physical terms alone. Those who are insane and what to blow up the school and everyone in it are about to be introduced to this miricle. and they are not going to like it when they are sent back to school all the way to first grade. ……But that's life!
