My image shows our home the Earth, surrounded by people in unity. The people change in color to represent all people. The dove is an international symbol of peace and the text speaks for itself "One Home One People".

I attempted to make it look like it was constructed of fabric just like a real flag.

  • The motto "Unus Terra, Unus Lugum", meaning "One Earth, One Union"
  • Combined United Nations and European Union to form a union of the Earth.
  • I don't like the concept.

I like your image there Daemos, perhaps you may want to upload it to MATS so it can be displayed on the thread?

Thanks.

I wasn't sure exactly what to do to have the image show up, but now that I've uploaded it, then embedded it, it should be fine. In any case, I appreciate the advice.

[EDIT] Well, gah. It appears it still doesn't appear, despite showing up in the "Preview". I assume it's cause of my post count, but oh well.

I had a quick go at giving it a real life fabric look, just for fun!

The Earth is the white circle in the center of the design, although this could also symbolise the universe as a whole. The blue ring around that is the ancient and universal symbol of unity, wholeness and infinity. Outside of that are two people joining hands, embracing each other, each of them on different sides of the Earth / universe.

I was going to have a two-tone image of the earth in the center, but having a plain circle which symbolises both the earth and the universe as one will have a longer lasting effect as we eventually move out into the cosmos and interact with other intelligent beings.

Oh yeah, 'flagged'... sorry I had to, excuse the pun

Here's my submission:

The 'motto' is Unus Mundas, Unas Consilium, latin for One World, One Purpose.

This is a great thread.

SD...Boy George? Elton John? John Boy??

ANYWAY, wish I knew how to do better picture thingies....I still ain't got it yet.

BTW, who are judging this fine event?

OH, and fwiw....IF I could figure out a neato submission to the contest, I'd imagine it would in some way convey the Earth in a way that would be meaningful not just to those of us who consider it our birth planet, but will convey something that is relevant to our place in the Galaxy, as well.

For any other intelligences that may happen by our cul-de-sac neighborhood in the dusty spiral arm of obscurity.....
