Umm, because I like him...

And when the chips were down - at the end - He tried to do the right thing and we all know what that cost him now dont we.

See, I live in a country where I have a right not to like the President and Obama would hardly be the first. I'm not Government Issue anymore and I'm allowed to have an opinion again and I don't have to explain to anyone what it is based on unless I choose to do so.

So once again - pure and simple - I dont like him.

Oh please, now saying "Socialist" or "Socialism" is an insult?... Since when did that happen?... If a political candidate or president decides to implement laws, and program after program that is Socialist, I guess that doesn't make him a Socialist?...

If you want to anger a Conservative, tell a lie.

If you want to anger a Leftist, tell the truth.

If you want to see an idiot request a photograph of VINCE1974's face.

spent many decades fighting the advances of that system.

He doesn't know that, Mental... Bush is his hero and a liberator, the Iraq war was justified, and Obama was born in Kenya....

Danang, I will take your personal outrage as genuine, and I respect, and would fight for, your right to express it, organize with it, and try and change the system, lefty OR rightie!

Don't misunderstand, OF COURSE there is genuine concern. You appear to be one of them. There are MANY more, I'm sure. But as a majority, as a major movement, my point is that the numbers are not there. Your concerns are not mainstream. The reach is over-exaggerated by the right. Example: Tea Parties. They're all but dead with the exception of the sporadic congregation. Unless you ask Hannity, or Rush, but these are done. They SWORE it was the next big movement. It wasn't. It isn't.

[edit on 5-9-2009 by tommy_boy]

And by that, I suppose you're trying to get me to agree with you. I do not. The grassroots movement is not about appeasement, but about taking our country back and making the ones who make our laws accountable to the ones they work for.

Personally, I will not be happy until I see at least a hundred of the worst offenders swinging in the breeze in front of the Justice Department. And that includes Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and Hussein Obama. Maybe the rest will then understand who they work for.

I just don't get it. What is wrong with the President addressing school children? I want the president to be in touch with the youth, our young ones have quite a road to travel, you think our near future looks bleak, they got nothing! Nothing at all, no social security, no medicaid, it is high time our president got busy and one on one with students, prepare them for the future that will be theirs, it will be nothing like ours. So much propaganda.

Welp! For a moment there I thought I was debating a reasonable person. My bad.

Just another angry person that, on ATS, just hinted at the execution of the President, the Speaker, and members of Congress and Senate. REAL classy, and way to make the point.

What in the world are you talking about "documented millions going into the defense of the insurance industry"?.... Calm your mind for a second and stay on one topic if you can...

BTW, i am not going to do your work for you... if you are really interested in discussing those topics, you find them yourself.

Exaggerations? MORE exaggerated than calling the President a communist? Than claiming the President is trying to build his army by addressing school children? Pot calling the kettle black on that one. But I've come to expect that from you.

First of all again you are exagerating. I have said the programs he is implementing and the laws being passed ARE SIMILAR to what is seen in Communist nations, and yes even Hitler had many programs which are similar or almost the same as the ones being passed by this administration.

BTW, PRESIDENT OBAMA HIMSELF gave a speech on how he wanted a civilian military just as strong, just as well founded, and as well trained as the military... and Emmanuel Rahm hilsef has stated the training of these groups could be done in military installations like National Guard training bases etc... Are you going to claim this is not true now?....

As for the indoctrinating of children part we have had SEVERAL threads in which laws which were passed by the present administration, such as H.R. 1388 give power to the "Corporation" over all learn/based programs/education, as welll as Community Service programs, and this "Corporation" has power over all public, private schools and even reservation schools, and the "Corporation' is given power over what programs should be taught, and have power over professors, and students over what they should be teaching/learning...

of course i don't have a life...and neither do the other membes who are actually interested in discussion and not on just adding more flame to the fire, exagerating and lying because "you can't get past the "S" burned into your forehead"....

If you are interested, instead of generalizing, and taking comments out of context perhaps you should be discussing in threads that deal with these topics, and not just generalizing, and taking comments out of context when it suits you.

My point also SC! Thanks!
You know my little saying I always post on here?
Well it almost dang near explains almost everything anymore.

You know, land of the greed, home of the 'fraid?
I would have to say paranoid instead, but it doesnt rhyme as well....

You see these people don't really believe Obama is going to become a dictator, if so that very post would mean a death sentence, probably the whole family.

Its half act half programing - the problem is the two are melding into one = dangerous delusion.

Put whatever spin you wish on it, I simply don't care. I said what I said and I meant what I meant. The country would be much better off if the legislators knew who they worked for instead of thinking they work for the lobbyists. Hanging a few of them might get the message across. Spin that as you wish, doesn't bother me one way or the other.

I think that all the anti Obama stuff should have ended with the election, it just goes on and on......the children are important, why not allow the most influential individual in the United State speak to them???? Oh lord, I feel a song coming on...

I believe the children are our are future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to

This is pretty much the most frightening thing I've ever read on the entire internets, and I've been known to frequent some pretty shady forums.

Christ people, once you start calling for the execution of the 'other side' of the political debate, take a step back, a few deep breaths, and try and get your head straight.

Your post serves as an excellent example of whats wrong with the political discourse on ATS, and indeed in America as a whole.

Get a grip on reality, pal. I suggest you unplug your internet modem and remove yourself from the political arena before your manufactured anger drives you to doing something distructive.

What's wrong with telling kids school is not such a bad place? Think of those underqualified people who have no other choice but the Army to pay for their "start" in life. That's absurd. I don't understand the Republican side either. They are protesting because a black socialist say school is good? He may be black, he may be a socialist, but he said a good thing. Republicans always want to keep the people uneducated, that's how they win elections, out of stupidity and fear

It has got a lot more to do with jsut the president addressing children... It has to do with the fact that the president shouldn't be doing what THE PARENTS should be doing... Which is teahing personal responsibility to children, what goals the children should have, etc. The president is being put in a pedestal, as if he was the "sheppherd of the children" and that children should be looking up to him, and not up to the parents. Of course it isn't enough that children starting from seconddary school will have to do compulsory Community Service, instead of the parents deciding this...

If in your reality, pal, folks are hung for daring to have a different opinion than your own, then I don't want any part of it.
