Amen, Bill, well said and well represented.

What so many people seem to forget and I keep trying to remind people, is that smoke and mirrors are constantly used up on Capitol Hill.

Distract us with news "tidbits", evade the truth through sound bytes, and divide us amongst ourselves because if someone can raise race as an issue it will deflect away from the current scandal, or if someone can raise the Healthcare issue they can easily distract you away from all the money that was stolen from the Bailout.

You will notice that nothing in the "Bailout" has assisted American citizens, at all.

Was Obama elected to destroy the country?

What a ridiculous assertion. Let's show a little chart with alot of RED on it showing how Obama is "destroying the country" and say nothing about the 8 years it took to get us here:

- September 11 and Bushy's eye off the ball.
- 2 failed and COSTLY wars of choice.
- One of the LARGEST financial system meltdowns in US HISTORY.
- The deepest recession since the great depression.
- Lost standing in the world community.
- A failed auto industry.
- An INHERITED deficit.
- Lost Moral ground with torture as a policy and a practice.
- The outright abandonment of New Orleans during and after Katrina.

The list goes on and on. And we're supposed to fear the liberal in the group? Shoooot. After the mess we just went through, let's try a little socialism.

The President has an important motivator role to play in the classroom. No President in recent history has inspired so much attention. He SHOULD use this influence to get kids to do their best in school.

Forgive me, but this is strictly a republican play, my friend.

Repubs did it with Clinton, making a huge deal about an extramarital affair (effectively, by the way. Credit where credit is due).

Dems did it to Bush, but there's a laundry list of coherent reasons why Bush needed to just go away. History will indeed judge him in the top 3 of WORST presidents of all time.

Repubs are now doing it to Obama. True to form, they're reaching, calling him a communist, saying he's a Kenyan, stating he's trying to indoctrinate children, etc.

hmmm. 2 failed wars, or Kenyan birth? Katrina or MaRxIsT!!! Total and complete economic meltdown or sex with an internal?

Not much of a comparison. This is a republican play. Not only that, the American people as a collective are stupid enough to buy it. "I WORRY ABOUT OUR FREEDOMS! OBAMA'S TAKING OUR FREEDOMS!!" haha, yeah. Sorry folks, Bush already to care of all of those for ya

That graphic guarantees the destruction of this country.

Clinton did it to himself by renewing the Office of Independent Council Act and also by signing into law an act which permits persons who are suing someone for Sexual harassment to use on-going harassment by the defendant as evidence in the plantiff's trial.

Clinton tried to use his power as President to interfere with the civil rights of Paula Jones.

He should have been convicted and thrown out of office.

I can't bear to watch the buffoons on Fox "news"...Steve Doocey gives me the creeps. The bubble-headed bleach blondes too....ugh. BUT, if that's the kind of crap they're selling you, then it's little wonder people are acting crazy over this issue.

Do you folks listen to yourselves? You get the creeps because of their racial attributes?

I understand what is going on. Pro-Obama people are having a different conversation than the anti-Obama crowd (me included).

We are saying that Obama is trying to indoctrinate our children in his Marxist ideology.

They are saying that the president wants kids to do well in school.

You see the problem. If you do not see what’s wrong with the President's ideology, of course you don't have a problem with him spewing it directly to your kids.

If the president believed in creationism, would you have a problem with him giving a speech directly to your kids telling them that the earth is 6000 years old?

Pick a side of the Global Warming issue, if the president's position is contrary to yours, should he be talking to children and promoting his view directly to them even if in your home you teach your children the opposite?

Politicians to campaign to voters, not children.

I also want to point out which side of the debate the Site Owner and his moderators – at least those which have posted a response mirroring that of the Site Owner’s - are all on. Be careful what you say about our dear leader lest you may get a warning or be banned all together. I have never been warned before even though I have been in some heated Israeli/Palestinian debates. Notice the two warnings I earn through one post on this thread.

With that, I bid you all good night and good luck. If am banned for the above comment, it has been a pleasure debating all the interesting issues we have discussed over the last eight months I have been a member.

yOU KNOW, i'm not a great Obama lover, but , come on, this goes beyond ridiculous. Come on, presidents have spoken to kids before,
What is the big deal here?

Is this speech to tell them to pick up arms and kill the parents after school??

I'm sorry, i know, Obama and whats going on in the background scares me and spooks me out, but I just cant see what the man could possibly say that is going to be devastating to anyone. Come on.

I will wait until after the speech and then let you know what is what.

Theres bigger fish to fry i think.

Just thinking outloud.

Didn't change the subject, just exposed your bias. Trying to bring you back to intellectual honesty.

If, as you state, this chart shows the destruction of our country, then any clear-thinking, objective person would then reason that the path towards this so-called "destruction" was set in the 8 years of the previous administration, and actually began manifesting itself in Bush's last year. Cause and Effect, buddy.

8 years of crap means consequences in future years. What dishonest people like you try and do is blame a less-than-1-year President for all of the mistakes of the previous 2 terms. You try to re-write history. We're not gonna let you do it.

If these future deficits hold true, then they are (yes) in part because of the liberal agenda of Obama (he won, remember), but more so because of the damage that needs to be repaired because of the incompetence of the guy that previously held the office.

You just don't want people to realize that this has been a runaway train for quite sometime now. You want to blame the guy trying to stop the train rather than the guy that broke off the brakes.

How do you write this stuff with a straight face... And void of ANY facts?

Please quote or link to the exact part of the speech where Obama will say something that remotely mirrors your "creationism" argument? You know, any part where he states something like:

- "When you grow up, join a union!"
- "Republicans are the devil. All of them!"
- "Go home and tell your parents that it's OK for some government bureaucrat to kill granny!"
- "Do everything Uncle Barack tells you to do, even if your parents disagree."
- "Sneak out at night and go to your nearest indoctrination center."
- "Don't believe it when they tell you that lower taxes are good! Supply-side Economics bites!"

Not sure what this has to do with anything, but you should attend a town hall to see exactly who is stifling who's freedom of speech.

And this is where you break away completely with reality.

The President is not a "Marxist" - that's a blatantly idiotic claim.
It's ridiculous, but you'll keep on claiming it, no matter what.

How the hell is anyone supposed to take your concerns seriously?

Guess what? - A "liberal Democrat" and a "Marxist" are two different things, whatever you like to tell yourself.

I doubt you'd find anything anything I said worth listening to if I loudly & repeatedly claimed that conservatives were NAZI's

Obama could sacrifice his own life by rushing into a burning building to save babies and old women and the right would claim he set the fire by being careless with a joint laced with coke.

Funny thing is Bush was the one who liked those, lol.

That's exactly right, xmotex. But aside from the fun in exposing these factless people, there's no getting to them. Our only hope is that those that read these boards looking for genuine, fact-based dialogue will also do their homework. These people are just extensions of the town hallers: Alot of loudness, alot of shouting, alot of big inflammatory words, but rarely any substance. These are the same people that "fear" for their freedoms when Obama tries to break up the healthcare monopolies, but don't say a word when Bush signs the Patriot act, spies on our own, expands Presidential powers, and leaves millions for dead in Katrina.

If that was what he was really about, it would be fine. That said, I have no problem with helping others, but I will not be forced or have my children mandated to participate against our will. As for diversity, how do you achieve unity through diversity? And, how does spreading the wealth from those who earned it to those who didn't, build a work ethic. If I disagree with him, by virtually all his most intense supporters , I am a racist. That promotes unity. If he thinks he can divide us or our families and conquer, believe me he will do it and then try to convey a "Who Me?" attitude with the Obama style and charm to disarm his critics.

You are being deceived if you believe he is about anything other than about power. Always has been from his very beginnings.

Don't get me wrong, Bush is no better and really started this ball rolling. Obama has simply picked it up and is running with it. I wouldn't let Bush talk to my kids either.

Well stated. At least you have a balanced point of view. Personally, I don't trust any of them and I make it a point to never believe their words or put them on a "proverbial" pedestal. In the statement I made before I posted to you, I basically said that the only conspiracy that the politicians consistently perpetuate is that the rich continue to get richer, while the poor get left behind. The fact is, if we continue to fall for the ploy of voting in a two party system, then we are equally at fault for playing a game that already has predetermined results.

I went back to your previous quote:

I think it shows the depth of public malcontent and distrust of the Obama administration and its policies. And, to an even greater extent, distrust and discontent of our government in general.

It absolutely is not the case that people are growing weary of his policies. I assume, since it is the biggy, you are referring to healthcare. Fact is that for every poll you can swing to infer below average approval (and it's usually a Rasmussen Poll), you can find more that say the opposite.

It's really not, as many on the Left would say, a frenzy drummed up by the Republican party and Fox News. Fox News isn't much better to me and many others than CNN and to label this as something manufactured by the Republicans is to misunderstand the movement entirely.

Wrong. There is no organic "movement" here. MSNBC and all other left-wing news outlets aside, do your homework. These are carefully orchestrated with a ton of money. Healthcare is quite possibly THE largest lobby in Washington. This is NOT grassroots, no matter how hard the repubs are trying to show that Obama is not the only one that can organize at that level. And the genuine drones that are following this astro-turf are brainless and do not think for themselves. Listening to the things they say is evidence of that.

- "I'm afraid for my freedom!!" cmon....
- I don't want a communist country." you don't even know what communism is...

It's not just Left against Right, it's "Throw all these bums out and start over because we've had enough."

On this, we agree
