A new awakening is happening to America right now. Americans are finally waking up, and realizing that they have lost any control or influence they thought they had over their representatives. The representatives answer the the special interest, and seek to please lobbiest, not their constituants.

The greed of our government and its' non chalant movement to tax us at the drop of a hat, has finally started to awaken even the heaviest sleeper citizen. Even die hard Dems and most independants, the ones that got Obama elected, are uttering a collective WTF. But I guess even Dems and independants are domestic terrorists, now that they have the gall to qustion messiah Obama.

The kool -aid drinking socialist, facist, pinko commie you know whats
in Obama's cabinet just don't get it. They will never understand regular people. Plus, how long can you call people names who don't agree with you, before that group strikes back?? How utterly stupid is that of the Obama klan to think name calling would'nt offend their base, and all other Americans. The Obama administration continues to amaze the public with their minor league handling of a major league issue. They have drank too much beltway party punch, and are now strategizing how to put on another coating of lipstick to dress up the health reform porker. It isn't going to work. The American people called the bluff, and the Obama people don't have the hand of cards to play out the issue. Bluff time is over, either you have the support to pass the bill, or you don't. Put up, or shut up.

If I remember correctly, for this last 2008 election, sponsoring was evenly distributed between Dems and Reps. :

"For the first time in over two decades, the cash was evenly divided: each party received roughly $107m. "

www.economist.com...

Companies usually sponsor both parties, "just in case" the other side wins nevertheless. But they mainly favored the republican party during last years (because they were GARANTEED to win - remember Florida) and on average gave 70% of the money to the Republicans, and only 30% to the Democrats.

For the last elections, they felt the wind changing and probably decided it was so tight that they should sponsor each party equally because they were absolutely not certain who was going to win.

So to anyone believing that the Obama administration was not linked to industrial and financial interests, well... sorry. Your political game is always rigged. In 2008 they basically bought both sides of the game, so whoever was going to win, the people lose.

I'm happy for you that you begin to see this now, but I hope that it isn't too late. You lived this way for decades believing that America was a democracy, but from a foreigner's point of view, it has never been.

www.amendment-13.org...

The Original Thirteenth Article of Amendment
To The Constitution For The United States

"If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them." [Journal of the Senate]

Here it is, it should be put BACK into the Constitution. Lincoln DID NOT free the slaves or abolish slavery, he NATIONALIZED IT!!!

The current thirteenth amendment was ratified in 1865? Wonder why they removed the original? It all started back then and we have been asleep since. Wake up call needed!!!!

If the original was put back in place, most congresspeople would have to give up their position and Lobbyist would be gone forever and WE would have our country back, it's just that simple.

Many people have worked on getting it, the original thirteenth amendment, back into the Constitution. But unless ALL OF US get on board, it will never happen.

Wasn't the original and ratified 13th amendment to the constitution destroyed in the war of 1812 by the british and elements of the former confederacy,to allow the british scumballs and lawyers to bring us to where we are now?,with the help of corporate personhood and the defeat of the republic which was killed by the central banks, and the adoption of an unconstitutional "money" monetary system...............Which,by the way is what democracy loves more than anything else,"Money For Nothing"
It was a combination of things, and it will take a combination of changes to fix The Problem.
First off,we gotta try to agree on what is important, and stop bickering about incosequential BS.......
The Original 13th Amendment needs to be re-inserted into the matrix...

It's easy, fry anybody caught donating money of any kind to any politician. The voices of individual americans would not be drowned out, since none of us offer money when making our voices heard, we just send an email or whatever, and are promptly ignored.

As far as most American's go,they are only about as awake,as if a bug landed on their face while sleeping, they will be in a deep slumber again, unless something much more "sensational" happens.....arghhhh.

TPTB do play both sides, pay one half of the population to shut up,and they only go after those who speak out,Hence, present day.......

Just stop playing the game altogether, they may just notice that, and then you have something like this swine flu thing to scare the dumber ones into getting vaccinated, and those who refuse are then their excuse for going baaa, baaa, help protect me from the big bad unvaccinated heathens, the homeless, the poor, people who are different than me,people who are not in my political party,of different religions,of different races..........

The list of problems to use as an excuse to not address the real issues is nearly endless.

The next big distraction will more than likely be another phony emergency, probably a war,or some heinous attack on something that would not concern us if we didn't watch TV all the time and get the propaganda drilled into our heads..............

Entangling Alliances.........Conflicting Opinions.........

true lobbying is nothing more than legalized bribery and is corrupt on the face of it. But the real directors of this country are zionist jews.Jews control about everything in the united states except the pork concession on 33rd and 3rd street and maybe even that.if you dont believe me check out the history available on line for free. They got us involved in ww1 in exchange for the balfour declaration,i.e,. create their state country ,in ww they instigated it and then genocided gerany , their goal is to marginalize white america through mass immagration, race mixing and denigration of whate through their controlled media they own all the nmajor newspapers and tv station, publishing houses magazines etc etc, they are responsible for the degradation of amelika. of course with out the collusion of corrupt people it couldnt hapen . when you find out the inroads and history of these people you will be amazed. and i aint anti semitc i am preferring to kick all of them out of government olffices as traitors which is what they areno dual citizen ship what so ever.and tell them go to israel the most rascist unequal country ever invented, the non jews there are in hell. and we will be too here in our own country soon if they get their way and we do nothing.

NATIONAL STRIKE.

Don't give .gov or the greedy corporations any more money to use against us.

They want us as peasants on the land, let's live like peasants and make everything we need for ourselves.

Make our own food, electricity, clothing, transport.

After about 6 months to a year, something would have to break.
Americans are too gutless for something like that. In all honsest they don't give a crap they're too busy living thier self indulgant cunsumer life style. The rich give them just enough toys so that they don't question the system.

That's what i do. Never owned a house. Never owned a car except for beaters i buy for a thousand bucks. And never bought anything on credit. Buy most things at second-hand stores.

Unfortunately most americans are idiots brainwashed into buying expensive junk just for it's status value.

Well, Duh!!! Read up on the acquisition of mineral rights to the public diamond mine in Murfreesboro Arkansas. There was legislation in place that was to ensure the lands always remained public, but in just a few years of lobbying and likely lining a few pockets a company was able to get sole access to the land and its minerals.

The only reason the mine is still open to the public is the fact that after some yield tests the company found that the mine was not commercially viable. All the surrounding lands (mineral rights) were also acquired, and most have now been certified to the state for nonpayment of taxes. “The state will not sell the mineral rights, although I think they are available for lease.”

Here in America money talks and the masses walk.

One other great example is the campaign by William Hurst to cement his profits in the timber industry. Mr. Hurst owned a huge portion of the virgin forests out west and he wanted even more, hemp was at the time keeping profits marginal at best. He launched a campaign to get rid of hemp which was successful and as a result his lands more than quadrupled in value. Mr. Hurst was one the richest men of all times directly due to the unconstitutional laws he helped push through congress.

Oh and let’s not forget about Medicare B. This legislation was for big pharma by big pharma. No doubt about it, in fact that exact argument was used by folks in opposition. Even though the legislation effectively bankrupted the country it was passed anyway.

It seems America has always been for sale, it not a recent development or anything.

I for one would really like to see a detailed list of examples, anyone know if such a list exists?

We really shouldn't dance around the obvious.

There is a new (relatively speaking) 'first-class' citizen in the United States: The corporate citizen has rights and privileges that supersede the ordinary citizens'.

They are empowered by wealth. Most regular citizens are not.

They are protected by the federal government and any state government that is run by one of the 'parties' which are components of the federal governments party.

The federal government will send your children to die in foreign lands to defend the corporate citizen. Laws are changed and nullified by sheer corporate will alone.

Lobbyists are simply the pimps.

Our political careerists are the whores.

lol i would love to see the day everyone or a huge portion of U.S. citizens not work for one or two days. that would be amazing to see. unfortunately don't see it happening by our will.

If only everyone would forget about what kind of purse they had or what new nikes were coming out and just looked at our govts. motives for one day.

then, i believe we might see some real change but there is one big hurtle in the way.... addiction to the controlled television.

honestly if i could coordinate it with enough people....... V for Vendetta, not the whole blowing buildings up but the TV bit. I believe that would work. Just doing it is the problem.

So many brilliant replies... thank you, and thanks for helping propagate the Marketwatch article... which is mainstream coverage compared to ATS, that's for sure.

The Marketwatch article takes an idea I first heard in 1993 from the guy that ran The Spotlight Newspaper. Willis Carto and the Liberty Lobby. I met with Mr Carto in his office on 3rd or 4th street South East on Capitol Hill, after the Spotlight had endorsed Ross Perot and I had been editor of the Virgina Newsletter for the Perot Petitioners LINK.... I recall him vividly sitting at his old desk, me in an overstuffed leather chair whose sides had been torn up by a cat.

There was a picture of Thomas Jefferson on the left side wall, with a little placard under it that said "Thomas Jefferson, America's first Populist"

Two windows stood on the left and right of his desk, and you could see the south half of the US Capitol dome... Willis pointed his thumb behind him towards the Capitol and said, "You know that EVERYTHING THERE IS FOR SALE, don't you?" This was in 1993.

If there are any ex-subscribers to Liberty Lobby's Spotlight Newspaper, here is a page that explains a great deal about the demise of that newspaper, after they tried to disentangle themselves (get out of bed) from the Scientologists..after a Scientologist worked his way up for almost a decade in the organization to become Willis Carto's right hand man and then sabotaged the operationLINK

"Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it superficial appearance of being right, and raises a formidable outcry in defense (sic) of custom..Time makes more converts than reason."

from the INTRODUCTION to Common Sense by Thomas Paine, Feb 14, 1776

So What do We do?
#1 STOP FILING TAX RETURNS. You will still be paying taxes - the compulsory deduction from your paycheck will continue. But change your filing status to 6 or more dependents and DO NOT file a federal or state return.
Millions of people already do this. IF the non-filers increase to a substantial number, say 10's of millions, it would be the most effective protest movement ever organized. No need for street protests, petitions, letters to the editor, etc. Just do not cooperate with the collection agency - the IRS.

They really have no Constitutional power or authority other than what we have given them by submitting to their demands.

That has to be one of the stupidist rhetorical questions i've seen on ATS.

Is the mayor's kid offering him birthday money in order to pass laws for his benefit? If so, then yes.

I have tried, in the last year to figure out what is really going own in our government. I know I'm a little slow sometime, but I finally figured out we are geting screwed by all the representatives from both parties. There are a few independants, like Ron Paul, but the vast majority are bought and paid for. Ask yourself, why does nothing ever change for the better. When either party has control of the house, they deficit spend. They don't do what they said they would do, and only seek constituents opinions when it's reelection time. Now, the Dms have control, and they are making up for lost time. The FED can't print , money fast enough for them not just to spend, but give it away by the billions. The public says stop giving it away, and Congress refuses. BOTH sides answer to special interest, and the ruling elite. they don't answer to their constituents as they have found out recently.

Our form of government has slippped out of our hands, bribed out from under us by a endless stream of entitlements to the masses. We have no one to blame but ourselves. We let them do it to us--we shouldn't be surprised.

Now it seems, Americans by an ever increasing number have awaken with a big "wait a minute" we're getting shafted, and our reps aren't listening to us. Yes, that's exactly right, and welcome to reality.

Things aren't going to change voluntarily. We will have to force change, whatever that means. Then, we will have "change you can believe in" , for real.

Untill then, we don't really have a Democracy, we have a Kingdom, with royalty, lords and ladies, barons, serfs, and slaves. you can figure out where you fit there. Is it time for real change?? That's for the common folk to figure out.. Tea anyone???
