Didn't we hear McCain and Sarah whats her face and assorted Repubs cry socialism BEFORE the election, and didn't Obama win by a considerable margin anyway?
And didn't we hear Obama in almost EVERY speech he made make it crystal clear that the central basis of his campaign was Health Care?
So whats with all this BS as if Obama somehow surpised us, snuck up on us?
Like him or not, he WAS elected and is doing what he said he would. Sour Grapes anyone?
I would hope for some answers even if Glen Beck and YouTube hasn't got anything to say about it!

The problem is the average Obama voter didn't know what socialism meant. Now that they're finding out, he is bombing in the polls.

OHHH! Thank you so much for clearing that up!
Gee i thought they would have known what Socialism was considering GW bailed out the banks a year ago, and McCain wanted to BUY every mortgage in the country!
Falling in the polls huh?
Well, that happens to all sitting Presidents ( meaning they were elected ),
Obama isn't doing too bad considering! But, go back to Dreamland!
Any other takers out there? bet not !

which is the part he is doing well at? he's got two big wars going. he's spent more money in 7 months than all other presidents combined and quadrupled the national debt. he's taken over whole industries and blatantly surrounded himself with radicals, appointed czars to run parts of the economy which is completely outside constitutional process. He rushes through enormous bills that he doesn't pretend to understand the contents of, by saying it's an emergency. He's insisting on health care reform that is massive but without any clear plan, certainly not one he himself understands. his support from the people is plummeting because of his administration's complete lack of transparency and his party's determination to insult citizens who ask questions. beyond that, he's kept in power bush people and bush policies. so what part do you think is going "not so badly"?

Your post reminds me of a story I heard just before the election:

An elementary school is holding elections for a new class president. The 1st student goes down the list of the things he will do if elected like promising shorter tests, book drives, more art class, etc..

The 2nd student stands up and promises 'Free Ice Cream!'

When the teacher asked the student how he would pay for the ice cream, he had no idea but it didn't matter because he won by a landslide

What charming little stories!
But you MIGHT answer my questions.
Why the big "surprise" routine, except that YOUR GUY LOST!

Eight months into a Dem President and you panic! Amazing.
I didn't do that with Bush, if you have any perspective at all, you would give it a chance ! Particularly since Obama will be President at least three and a half more years anyway, despite your knee jerk reactions.

From the New York Post today
Poll Disaster For Obama

THIS week's polls are a disaster for President Obama. The Rasmussen poll has his approval dropping to 45 percent, after several weeks at 49 percent. The Zogby poll has it even lower -- at 42 percent.

Worse yet, he's losing his political base:

* People un- der 30 -- long a key element of his support -- give him no better than break-even ratings, with 41 percent approving and 41 percent disapproving of the job he's doing, according to Zogby.

* Only 75 percent of Democrats, who formerly have supported Obama strongly, now approve of his performance in office. Zogby reports that this represents a slide of more than 10 points over the summer.

* Even among blacks, only 74 percent approve of the job he's doing (also a drop of more than 10 points).

* Hispanics, who voted for him by a margin of more than 40 points, now break even (36-36) when rating his performance.

Independents, the key swing group in our politics, now deliver a sharply negative 37-50 verdict on Obama's job performance. The elderly also give him negative ratings by 42-51.

The only people surprised are the ones who weren't paying attention last fall and voted for him because it was the cool thing to do or who voted for him for a variety of other superficial reasons. Now that reality has set in and people can see his policies in effect, as the poll numbers reflect, a good number of them aren't liking it too much.

But for the rest of us? No, its no surprise at all. I was familiar with his platform early during the campaign cycle last year and had him pegged as a socialist well before the first primary was held, as did many others here and elsewhere.

Yeah this has crossed my mind too, he's doing what he said he would do during the election is he not? And for some reason everyone is flipping out. Including his own base! weird. It's like no one even payed attention to what was being said in the campaign...barack just got voted in because he's a celeb...and the "anti bush". I'm pretty sure no one was listening. I hope this is a wake up call to all the fools still supporting the 2 main parties...

You are correct in that he is doing everything he said he would do but here's where the issue is; during his campaign last year if he would have said: "I am going to get this country back on track by passing a stimulus package and making sure most of that money goes to the banks as well as place our unemployment rate at 10%" Do you think he would have been elected?

No one wanted to ask him HOW he was going to afford all of these wonderful things yet so many are surprised.
