why not land a mass-driver on phobos, and crash phobos into mars?
Phobos orbits about 9377 km (5827 mi) from the center of Mars, so it wouldnt take much to decay its orbit.
at 22km wide,1.072 × 10 to the 16th power kg, phobos would put on a great show.

its going to hit mars in 10 million years anyway,

www.universetoday.com...

maybe mars had more moons, they crash to planet causing great floods of the past on mars.

Never heard of of one of those before.

peace to you all the same

a mass driver would eject rocks and dirt of phobos in planned direction so the opposing force would alter the orbit of phobos. it could be nuclear or solar powered. this idea has been thought of for deflecting earthbound asteroids.

what a novel idea. I have an image of a gigantic machine able to chew up tonnes of materiel at a time with the ability to throw the chewed stuff into space with enough velocity to escape the atmosphere of mars.. wow.

peace

To the OP:

I like the way you think. If we're gonna have wanton destruction.... might as well have it on a planetary scale.

and..

Hahahahaahah

Between that... and Dan Tanna's depiction of the fish alien...

and defcon05's plotting of planet x's orbit....

I don't know which is funnier... Salut.

I have taken the drawing as created a digital artist rendering. I think the mystery is solved, it is none other than General Ackbar.
