Hey Mel,
Nice post, obviously a topic that people are passionate about.
I usually don't enter into conversations of this sort for reasons that I needn't explain to make my point. I just thought you might like to know
that there are people here, like me, who DESPITE their opinions on subjects like these, can express themselves objectively.
So, If I may, to satisfy my own curiousity, I'm here to ask:
So what?
I'm not trying to be flippant or rude.
I mean, if it is true that the phenomenon we currently experience have been commented on in the bible and that, therefore, the prognostications had
been made (at the time of writing, or at least Constantine's last edit...) How does that prove truth? Or for that matter, how does that provide
worth?
Is your argument that we should heed ALL prophesies from the bible based on our ability to determine them after they happen?
I have no problem with people believing in God, prophesy, the bible(s), aliens, whatever... But as a practitioner of reason and an expert in the
actuality of "truth" I must resist the temptation to "pick sides" and it seems that is what you post seems to do.
Respectfully,
Brian Taylor
PS. For the record, I believe in God, but I don't pretend to understand God, and therefore, discussion becomes speculation, which while fun and
possibly even productive, has nothing to do with Truth.
This may well be the one and only time you see an opinion expressed by me on such an important topic.... Enjoy ATS
