anyone else notice this?

Other Signups

41953690525 people have signed up to attend this event.

says 41 billion people signed up to attend this event.....

last check i saw there were only 6 billion, most of which in india and china

on topic, i think its obvious the reason why people are being called domestic terrorists. fox news is calling people out now, and its pretty obvious that people that support obama feel they need to reciprocate.

i think this is all of a bunch of crap IMO

health care would be a good idea, if it didnt cost so much. we need to fix the other stuff first, so we know we can pay for it. get rid of all the talk about chipping people, too.

Did you even bother to read the article linked to the OP?

As soon as the site started to gain attention, the page was taken down, and replaced with less inflammatory content, but the screenshots remain. For a few hours this morning, Obama’s own website told the American people exactly what the President thinks of them - clearly, concisely, and to the point.

The Heritage Foundation preserved the screen shots.

Terrorist....Shall we count the times this term has been bandied about?

Terrorist fist-bump anyone?? Remember Fox News, Rush and the GOP once called our current POTUS a terrorist? For as simple a thing as greeting his wife???

Like those opposed to the war in Iraq...Encouraging Terrorism?....

Driving SUVs, Buying drugs.....Funding Terrorists?

Shall we even talk about the word Nazi? Socialist?

These are words that have enough emotional punch that they make people stop thinking.

Either side of the aisle...lets STOP the BS. STOP bickering like idiots over this stuff. Stop shouting ...Hitler, Nazi, Terrorist...

These words are designed to distract the discussion and play upon emotion.

Stop acting like a crazed mob of easily manipulated idiots.....

FYI ...at least OFA immediately changed the words when called out on this junk. Rush/the GOP would have doubled-down and rather than retracted his dumb words...he would have screamed it from the roof-tops. Proudly owning the whole Hitler, terroist, Obama must fail no matter what rhetoric.

That’s also assuming it actually was posted in the first place, there seems to be a stream of proven falsehoods, blatant lies and outright propaganda concerning Healthcare reform emanating from the far-right.

It makes it hard for me to take anything at all they say about the issue seriously.

But as far as "TERRORIST"???? Second verse -- Same as the first... it's been going on for a while now. Lizard brain anyone???

FEEL ..DONT THINK. Fear, anger, hate ...primal emotions...wired to pre-empt logical thought.

Say the right word..bring up the correct hot-button issue....engage those emotions...disengage logic and thought...derail civil discourse of an issue.

Tactics used by Dems, Reps and everyone in-between.

Noooo - Organizing for America is _certainly_ not affiliated with Obama in anyway.

He only announced it's creation, that's all.

Fallacies of logic (Otherwise...the ways we BS and are BSed)

argumentum ad populam

The informal fallacy of persuading someone to accept (or reject) a conclusion by arousing favorable (or unfavorable) emotions toward it or by emphasizing its widespread acceptance (or rejection) by others.

* This is what happens when we toss around emotive words like Terrorist or Nazi....etc etc.

An ad hominem fallacy:

(1) Person A makes claim X
(2) There is something objectionable about Person A
(3) Therefore claim X is false

A relevant example when folks respond to Healthcare Reform discusions and debates by calling President Obama a Socialist or comparing him to Hitler...

(1) President Obama proposes healthcare reform.
(2) The GOP does not like President Obama and wishes he did not win the election.
(3) Therefore Healthcare Reform is not good for the country.

See the disconnect? See the BS?

This is a clever hoax, I searched the organizing America website and found nothing even close to a shred of evidence for it.

I even copied and pasted the title of the blog in the search box and couldn't find the page what so ever.

It seems they found the Template for the Blue State Digital CMS that they are running and failed to take out certain criteria before making a picture of it.

Aka The little boxes in the right hand corner don't pop up at all and Ical is a mod used for calender work. KML and XML don't show up on any other part of the site even when I signed up and posted a fake blog.

But for all those hackers out there if you wanted to use a program called brutus to gain entry to the site. my.barackobama.com... is the login screen for organizing america website :::Wink::: Do some research before you post

Officially Debunked have a nice day

[edit on 2-9-2009 by warrenb]

As long as I have the template that they are useing I can do the very same thing.

It's only a hoax in the sense that it appears to be Obama but it's not his official website. It is however, a real website by the "Obama for America" organization.

Look at the list of people who are in this organization
it's amazing:
www.nndb.com...

even Oprah Winfrey is in there haha

Ya It is a real site as far as the organization is concerned that I agree with the fact someone made a clever fake to stir the pot then has it on a free speech website trying to psych people out is nothing short of being a true domestic terrorist. isn't that how you win wars confuse your enemy and destroy from within.

Very odd that the chief left wing domestic terrorist who formed his vision hanging out with other domestic left wing terrorists would call those who didn't buy into his vision right wing terrorists.

Actually, not odd at all.

I retract my statement, the website is not controlled by the White House.

I do object to Public School cult of personality Indoctrination from the White House though. www.foxnews.com...

Obama will deliver a national address directly to students on Tuesday, which will be the first day of classes for many children across the country. The address, to be broadcast live on the White House's Web site, was announced in a letter to school principals last week by Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
...
But in advance of the address, the Department of Education has offered educators "classroom activities" to coincide with Obama's message.

Teachers are also given guidance to tell students to "build background knowledge about the president of the United States by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama."

During the speech, "teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful."

For grades 7-12, the Department of Education suggests teachers prepare by excerpting quotes from Obama's speeches on education for their students to contemplate -- and ask as questions such as "Why does President Obama want to speak with us today? How will he inspire us? How will he challenge us?"

Activities suggested for after the speech include asking students "what resonated with you from President Obama's speech? What lines/phrase do you remember?"

I think this is more Rockefeller than Obama. I feel sorry for Obama. Just not sorry enough to let demonically pocessed descendants of robber barons control my healthcare.

Not to be snarky...but who do you think is controlling it now?

President Obama is not descended from "robber barons" BTW.
Probably the least pedigreed POTUS we have had in this country.
Whatever your political ideology I think you probably understand that?

Yet you would prefer the status qou as to who controls healthcare? Confused.

This is a collection of excerpts removed from context to fit a given theme.

FOX news is looking to play upon their viewership's view of Obama supporters being idolizers without rational thinking skills. It's a steady drumbeat.

Whatever party you support...I think you are bright enough to get that.

whatever happened to goodwill to all?

the NHS (healthcare), for all its failings, is a good idea. they need to get it right. i personally don't mind my social security money helping to pay for others to be treated because thats exactly what i've come expect myself.

i think free healthcare for all is the way forward for a lot of nations. it would break down social barriers if everyone was "treated" equally. And just like the UK, you can always go Private.

I'm sorry if i don't make sense to some. It's just that i don't see what the problem is. I'd have thought it was good news.

There is no such thing as free anything. If person A gets it free, person B pays twice. Also the healthcare bill has a lot more in it than just, "healthcare". The Constitution, may it rest in piece, does not allow for the federal government to control healthcare. Good will is not good will if it is forced upon a person.
