Mt. Hood National Forest on path to limit off-road vehicles

Forest officials Thursday released a draft plan that would ban any cross-country travel by such machines, confining them to designated roads and trails to limit their environmental impact. Like all national forests, Mt. Hood is creating a "travel management plan" to comply with a 2005 rule change by the U.S. Forest Service. In the past, all areas in most forests, including Mt. Hood, were open to off-highway vehicles -- a category that includes motorcycles and Jeeps -- unless they were marked off-limits. Under the new rules, all areas are presumed off-limits unless specifically designated for off-highway vehicles. The Mt. Hood forest has about 3,383 miles of roads in different states of repair, and the forest's two preferred plans released Thursday would limit off-road vehicles to 99 or 325 miles of roads and trails in select areas.

This is where, basically, the government makes the wilderness off-limits to civilians. I never wanted to believe that our government would do this to us, but new laws limiting our access to natural land and resources are emerging, and leaving me feeling troubled.

In this map, much of the land is marked RED = Little to no human use.


This is a really troubling description I found online, of Agenda 21. All of this stuff we can see happening already. Of course, it's easy to see how Agenda 21 fits in with Codex Alimentarius.

You will find that this agenda includes but is not limited to the following issues: cap and trade (cap energy usage at present or lesser levels), global warming, population control, gun control, open borders and illegal immigration, higher taxes, refusal to drill American oil, education restructuring, international IDs, natural health supplement control (vitamins, etc.), farming reform, control of private property, food control, a national animal identification system (NAIS) and UN global governance.

Space is a major issue for both the NPA and the hunters. The areas open to hunting are strictly limited. Parks and nature reserves are off-limits, and hunters are not allowed within 500 meters of a settlement or 100 meters of a lone house or cemetery. Some areas that are home to endangered species are also closed to hunting. Menahem sees the area restrictions as yet another attempt by the NPA to limit hunters. "They want to close hunting areas, to limit us," he said. "It's not enough that our country is so small... the small area we have is being further trimmed."

I might simply be paranoid, but it almost seems like Agenda 21 might be real, and might be happening.

I think everyone at ATS is already familiar with Agenda 21. If not, do some reading and keep on the look out.

I looked at your link about Agenda 21. It appears the agenda was approved by almost 200 countries back in the mid 90s and upheld again in early 2000's. But what about now? Do you have any links?

Ever hear of WALKING into the wilderness?
Vehicles cause huge damage to wilderness, as a matter of fact it ain't wilderness if you let everybody drive right in. Jeeez!

I don't really have any recent links pertaining to Agenda 21. I mean, aside from recent articles talking about limiting hunting and access to forests and natural resources...

You know that song that goes " This land was made for you and me"

Did i miss the lyric where it says " this land is made for the united states government to do whatever it wants to and on and to limit it's availability to the civilian population"

Not that it would rhyme with the tune but maybe I just missed it... :-)

Considering Oregon is home to the last of the truly Virgin Forests in the Continental United States (meaning no cutting, harvesting, development, motorized vehicles, et cetera for over 500 years), we take our Forests very seriously out here.

I spend most of my weekends hiking through this last truly Virgin Forest, or in the many other Old-Growth Forests around here. The idea of making more Old-Growth Forests protected and closed to motorized vehicles, development and logging is a great idea.

To any of you who have paid attention, you saw how upset Northern Californians and Oregonians got when Bush opened up the Redwood National Parks and Monuments to deforestation, the value Northern Californians and Oregonians put on the protection of their forests shouldn't be much of a surprise. Regrettably, since Bush opened the Redwoods to logging, over 97% of the Redwood Forests have been destroyed. These are trees that are thousands of years old, grow over 300 feet in height, and diameters up to 26 feet at the base!

I want my children and my grand-children to be able to enjoy the very same forests I grew up in. I know these very same trees will remain for 80 to 100 generations after I am gone, as long as they are protected and valued by those who come after me. If it means closing these areas off from logging, development, and motor vehicles, then so be it!

Ancient forests are far better a place to visit when you don't have the roaring of engines and the whomping sound of bass speakers to distract you from the quiet beauty you can find there.

Basically they are trying to maintain all people in specific areas in order to know their locations - the Real ID will help the gov., which is being passed at the moment, know who you are - in order to control them and they will mask it all under "environment" and of course, environment-nuts will go for this. The relocation of people in order to concentrate them into smaller areas to "save the environment" will also be believed by the masses and seen as a good idea. But nature depends on us as we do her so this is all a bad idea, to be honest. And when nature thinks there are too many people, she will do her worst and doesn't need man to help.

If you look the black areas on the map in the video, there are alot of them but they are still small. I am betting there will be a need for a massive population reduction through swine flu vaccinations, Codex Alimentarius, and another 9/11. Three happened already (the Oklahoma City bombing, 1993 bombing of the WTC, and 9/11) - why not another? The scariest thing is that this is all out in the open and they know people will not bother to note any of it.

Good find, this goes to show exactly why Obama has chosen people who want UN control over everything, want to give out our sovereignty, and in general prepare the roadmap for a One World Socialist govermnet.

Most of Obama nominees are advocates of UN control, gun control, population control etc...
