A British Chinook helicopter has been deliberately destroyed after being badly damaged in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has said. The aircraft suffered what officials have called a "hard landing", while on operations near Sangin, Helmand province, on Sunday morning.

Iirc this is the second we have had to destroy in just over a week? how long can we keep up with this considering we were already short of helicopters? i believe they may be in the process of shipping out another to replace the first they had to destroy? (saw a fuselage being carried on the back of an artic heading towards Brize Norton last week with the rotor heads on a following truck) but surely there are only so many we can replace before we are placed in a very difficult position?
