there's a place in the very most North part of Scotland I heard about once - I want to see it very much - looked so beautiful in the photos - unreal - surreal

supposed to be one of the most haunted places on earth - incidentally :-)

do you have any idea what I'm talking about? because I can't remember the name...

famous for selkies too I think

started a file on it a while back - which was somehow mysteriously lost

all my things are mysteriously lost sooner or later

:-)

Ooooh sounds amazing! Not sure of the place you mean, but might be worth asking blondie about haunted places.

There's a beautiful place on the west coast called Mellon Udrigle, pure white sands, clear water, wildlife everywhere, and really deserted (mainly because it's a bugger to get to!)

So many childhood memories there.... Aaahh...

That's just an amazing place Spira!

I'll definitely have to check that out, looks amazing any time of the year! Why do lots of people have it in their heads that beaches are just for summer?!

you may be more biased towards winter beaches than most Mr. Hughness :-)

what with your attraction to cold stuff and all...

but - I agree - I am not opposed to cold places - and there is something about cold grey days at the beach that are just magical

something about this place though gets to me

but - since I don't know the area - at all - I'm sure there are plenty of others

It's the storms I love more than anything, such raw power shifting everything around you... Just awesome.

And the cool things you find on the day after! Beachcombing is brilliant..

I love storms too - all kinds

not that I don't respect the amount of damage they can do - and I don't really want any part of that myself

but there is something about watching them

I think I could become one of those tornado chasers with a little prodding

here where I live you can really watch the whole thing - see a storm moving in - it's beautiful

I used to love watching stormy seas when I lived on the East Coast---just watching the waves come over the sea wall

Used to watch them for hours.
Awesome stuff

Ms mirabilis, it was beautiful walking along the beach at sunset, just watchin the sun go down and collecting seashells

You can hear the sea if you hold some shells to your ear as well---and at Filey, they have a brig there that juts out into the sea with crabpools n stuff

I miss it soooooooooo much x
