found the violin to be shrill - really?
my favorite - after the cello - but nothing wrong with the viola
I am no musician - and I am aware that musicians do hear music very differently from those of us that don't play or write

YET lol
Yeah,if you can imagine the difference of standing 20 ft away and hearing a violin played as opposed to having it gently nestled between your chin and shoulder A few inches from your left ear. I was a little sensitive to the higher frequencies at that time.

I like all the string and wind instruments, not just orchestral ones.
I would love to be able to play all of them.
I tried keyboards, but I totally suck so bad. I'm totally dyslexic with keyboards for some reason and doubt I could get a left handed keyboard made up lol

I almost hear visually - if that makes any sense

You most likely have talent as a painter or a graphic artist of some sort or even have great insight into the imagery involved in the written word.
Have you pursued any of those arts ?
It's kind of reflected in your choice of ATS name in a way.

(The music thread)

it's been dormant forever - and I know for a fact that a lot of really good music is still missing - please post some of your favorites - they can't ALL be there already

Sure I be glad to add to A great archive That I revisit often.
I pretty much like all the music related threads.
Sometimes I take breaks from ATS because I become busy.

I don't mind A little ambiance myself at times. I think it's a fitting word for such events whether it be Muddy Waters or Mozart.
But don't really enjoy the Egoism that it sometimes drags along with it.
I can enjoy a fine wine without knowing the cost as it were.

....as for the Liver and the broccoli thing I'll eat liver if it's prepared properly and I like my broccoli raw.

I see the pandemonium and chaos is back. lol
Maybe we should just carry on our conversation in hopes it might be contagious in some way ?

Sophistication and intelligence has finally surfaced in the discussion.

Even talk of liver and broccoli has been raised to levels of gastronomical brilliance !!

You have both set a benchmark for future behaviour on this thread !!!

see - that's not something I ever thought about - obviously

I know you've moved on :-)

so - not trying to talk you back into the violin - but what if you wrapped silk or gauze around your ears - enough to let you hear exactly what you're doing - but dampen the vibration some?

like I said - I don't play - but I am sensitive to sound - certain sounds will make me insane - and some of them actually hurt

I like all the string and wind instruments, not just orchestral ones.

I like all instruments - but, yes - strings and wind - the human sounding instruments are my favorites too

this feels like a setup :-)

yes - there you go - I am a very visual person - and I have pursued those arts

still pursuing- they are elusive

Sure I be glad to add to A great archive That I revisit often.

you just made me want to revisit my own thread :-)

that would be great - I was hoping more people (besides just me) would show up with their favorites stuff

there were a couple of people who really did participate - which is great

fun for me to drop off my stuff - but funner for me to hear what everyone else is listening to - what means something to them

I don't mind A little ambiance myself at times. I think it's a fitting word for such events whether it be Muddy Waters or Mozart.

that's the thing - the variety - I agree

we all have our favorites - but I have a hard time settling on one thing - classical to aboriginal - I love it all

Yes,the human sounding ones lol
But creating music on the computer lends itself to using keyboards so I'm a little disadvantaged there.Although I was at the music store the other day mulling around looking at the midi keyboards AGAIN, so I might just try climbing that big backward mountain again soon.
A friend of mine at ATS gave me a link for a site they used for the music competition that ended recently at BTS if you want to plunk around on it.
it's free
Jam Studio

feels like a setup :-)
yes - there you go - I am a very visual person - and I have pursued those arts ...still pursuing- they are elusive

No... not a setup
So what are you up to... you really didn't elaborate.
You not shy about your artist endeavors are you ?

fun for me to drop off my stuff - but funner for me to hear what everyone else is listening to - what means something to them

I'm just waiting for it to pop back up on the recent threads myself (hint)
I'm sure they will return to carry on their efforts as well.

that's the thing - the variety - I agree
we all have our favorites - but I have a hard time settling on one thing - classical to aboriginal - I love it all

I guess it depends on my mood and where my spontaneous wandering takes me.There music and art everywhere sometimes waiting to be stumbled upon.

Well it's time for me to go get something accomplished today.
I just "friended" you...I hope you don't mind ?
Type to you soon.
Bye for now.
