Glad I found this spot for a rant.

My wife is talking to me on her cell fone, while waiting in line. My wife was in DMV, registering our car and paying a ludicrous tax on owning tha damn thing. She had our toddler with her because we are not millionaires with an immigrant nanny or something. We can hardly afford to feed junior, much less entertain him.

So there she is, and the burokrat is some gum-smacking government rendition of Lilly Tomlin's "we don't care--we don't have to--- we're the phone company." There's about four people in other lines.

Our poor kid is getting weepy cause he has to wait in line with mommy instead of eating LUNCH like a free human could, standing in line like a little peasant family to ask the burgermeister for permission to work in the muck-mines and breathe m'lord's air.

So mommy gives him a piece of a cracker and he gets it in his mouth and he's CHOKING on it. OH MY GOD he's choking so hard he's throwing up and turning blue and his little eyes are rolling back in his head O MY GOD and mommy is screaming for HELP! HELP! Could someone help us? Call and AMBULANCE, can someone help me do the HEIMLICH on MY CHILD. And eveyone

...LOOKS AWAY. They pretend not to see my family in need, 10 F****ing feet from them. They look out the window and pretend not to see. Some of them keep on talking in their conversations. Das BUROKRAT just says NEXT! And where am I? I'm listening TO THE WHOLE THING ON my wife's CELL PHONE!

My wife eventually got the cracker out after kiddo puked so much he knocked it loose, and retrieved the rest of it by doing a 'throat scrape.' No one would even go to the bathroom and get her some paper towel to clean up the mess with.

MY CHILD ALMOST CHOKED TO DEATH AND FREEDOM LOVING AMERICANS STOOD THEIR AND WATCHED. THEY WOULD HAVE LET HIM DIE!

No one, not even my wife will know the rage that boiled inside of me, the powerlessness that could have been translated into violence on a bunch of souless apes that treated my family as less than human, and didn't lift a finger.

And the same bunch of fugly TROLLS wants to know how wholesome American kids could torture defenseless strangers in Iraq? I'll tell you how! They have no freeking compassion. They are souless zombies who cannot empathize with a child who cannot breathe. How can you expect them to treat 'furriners' as human when they themselves have no humanity!

Tell me again why I should be a good neighbor and a taxpayer!!!!!!!!!!!

If I was there I would of helped. There aren't many people out there these days that would help.

Another reason that those trolls didn't do anything is because most of them are on auto pilot and don't even have a brain in their head so they wouldn't know how to perform the H manouver.

I've got a son, who is everything to me. I can imagine your fury and pain, this must have shaved years off your life.

I saw a 3 year old wander in front of a car today, she was inches from being knocked down. I am still angry at the guy driving 50 mph in my small neighbourhood and it's still burning in my head.

Thank god he's ok. This post could have been much, much worse. I don't know what I'd do if I losts my boy.

A little first-aid training would save thousands of lives every year.

FYI, if somebody is choking, lean them forward slightly (they are probably already in this position, tough). Announce what you are about to do and give them three good whacks with the open palm of your hand between the shoulder blades. Only then should you go into the 'H' manouver. (according to UK red-cross procedures). Make a ball with your fist, place it just below the ribs in the center of the chest, cover with your other hand and compress inwards and upwards.

If the person has passed out from lack of oxygen, lie them down and give them regular chest compressions. This won't kill them, and is a preferrable option to letting them die.

I remember back in the 80's I saw some imbecile letting her baby grand-daughter wander off in the middle of a farm and the child went straight towards a rather skittish horse. The horse started to leap around, kicking its forelegs while the baby just carried on walking towards it. I managed to get to the baby in time and pull her away, but I was seriously pissed at the old woman who put her in such danger.

I feel for you man, have 3 kids of my own. Being totally helpless, that must have pained you, no end. The people in line may not have known what to do. The employees on the other hand, someone there has got to have first aid. I'm sorry you had to experience this, I can imagine it. I would be angry as well.

I know your post isn't meant to be funny, but that is SO the way it is when dealing with some of these high & mighty government worker drones.

Having said that, now I can get to the meat of your story and I want to tell you that I was absolutely appalled at the behaviour of these so called "human-beings". It seems people on the whole become less and less human by the day and sometimes I'm ashamed to be considered a part of the human race. There is simply no excuse and all I can say is you must have more self-control then I do, because most likely if it had been me on the other end of that cell-phone hearing all this go down, I'd have been down at that piss-hole tearing EVERYONE a new asshole. Bastards !!!!!!!

I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope your son is allright and resting happilly in moms and dads loving arms, hopefully having been totally unaware of these asshats shameful behaviour.

Wow, I got angry with you just reading your rant.

I've noticed that most people are brainless and selfish. Take away their creature comforts and they will quickly devolve into animals. It's very frustrating, especially when you're a dreamer like me who has hopes that one day we Humans will amount to something in the cosmos as a species. But not at this rate!

I used to work as a playgroup assistant and have done a course specialising in first aid for young children. I would have been straight in their trying to help, but not just because I'd know what to do, but because it's an instinctive reaction to help a child in distress. Even if these people failed to act because they froze at the sight of your son choking, I think it's inexcusable not to have offered any support for your wife once the panic was over. I guess there are just too many people in the world today who hold the view that things are "not their problem"

I have 2 children and can sympathize with you. This just pisses me off that people would ignore the fact that an infant was in distress like that. I know for a fact that if I would've been there I would have helped out. We as human beings need to wake up and make an effort to help our fellow man. Just curious what city do you live in? If it would have happened where I live people would have helped out I'm almost sure of it or at least I would hope so.

Man that sucks, I feel for you although I don't have a kid of my own (Seeing as how I'm only 17). But I don't like the way you blame it all on that they were American. I think people all over the world are pretty damned greedy. Also, I try to look at everything from both sides of the story. Was your baby choking to death? Or just coughing. Either way, someone should have helped.

I too, have a similar story. A few years back, i was about 13 years old and into my stupid little "Skater" phase. My friend and I were at the park trying to slide down the rail of one of the slides on our skate boards. I went up, started going down, slipped backwards off of the side of the slide, and landed straight on my back on the ground. I couldn't breathe! My friend was screaming for someone to help! The only person there was this chinese man sitting on one of the benches. I was crawling towards this guy trying to talk, but unable. And HE WAS SITTING THERE SMILING AT ME!!!!!!! Even if he didn't speak english, he should have known what was going on!!! I was on my stomach army crawling towards this guy, gasping for air and unable to talk and he was smiling at me...good lord PEOPLE. I finally just sat up against the slide and waited for my air to come back, and thankfully it did.

To a 13 year old, that was scary! I could have had something broken, and died out there whilst this moron sits there smiling at me.
