What?....
What in the world are you talking about?...

Are you claiming that what ahs eben discussing is not true?..

If you want to debate, first LEARN HOW TO DEBATE, instead of making red herrings and illogical statements.

Also, as is ALWAYS the case, he has on a sympathetic guest. I've NEVER seen Beck go one-to-one with an adversary on his TV show. On his radio show, he simply goes into tirade and hangs up on the caller.

[edit on 29-8-2009 by kinda kurious]

I recall him going one-on-one with that one dark-haired guy, who was the head of ACORN ... I disremember his name, but perhaps you recall the incident...Glenn said that during the commercial break, the ACORN guy leaned in and told him "You're just doing this because you hate black people" or something like that ... that guy.

I also think you're overstating the case with "he simply goes into a tirade and hangs up on the caller"... Sometimes he does do that, sometimes he does not, and I am not actually sure which option an actual count-up-the-incidences-this-week survey would find to be more prevalent.

And the current administration through the DHS and Janet Napolitano have labeled MOST AMERICANS AS POSSIBLE TERRORISTS, not to mention that they sent this report to every law enforment agency in the country.

Most Democrats might have been agianst the Patriot Act, but most Democrats, along Republicans in power have made it a lot worse, because now MOST Americans are labelled as "possible terrorists". That is if you are a returning veteran, if you want to Defend the Constitution, if you don't agree with any policy made by the Obama administration, if you are against the New World Order, and if you are afraid of COMMUNISM, among the list of Americans who have been labeled by the current administraiton as "possible terrorists".

As for renewable source of power, wind and solar are not as reliable as you seem to claim, and it will still take a while to implement a relible power source, so we will still need oil for a while.

Still, the whole kyoto protocol, and similar treaties which are being implemented worldwide are based ONLY on CO2, which is NOT a pollutant, but necessary for ALL LIFE on this planet.

I don't believe there is an Islamic infiltration/terrorism that isn't "sponsored", but even if they are acting on their own I don't believe that we should give up our Constitutional rights so that the government can protect us from them. I'll protect my own family as I see fit.

The Patriot Act pushed by the Republicans was the worst infringement upon our Constitutional Rights since FEMA. Our right to privacy, to due process, to free speech...all of them curbed by this act.

Gee.. where did I mention the Patriot Act? No where.

Where did I mention giving up rights? No where.

I believe in securing our own energy resources, too, and I am a Pickens Plan supporter. Wind, solar, and maybe gas...sustainable resources.

Wind is a joke.. you will always need backup generators for when the wind isn't blowing.

This myth of oil in Alaska has been decried by even Exxon executives. When brought before Congress their CEO said that the truth is that the amount of oil there is insignificant and that areas like Wyoming were more appropriate for exploration. It is propaganda to divide people. We'd have gas for eighty cents a gallon if it weren't for those Democrats stopping us from drilling in Alaska to save a few polar bears *sighs*

I have a friend who works for USGS, is not a Democrat, is a Ron Paul supporter and he told me that there is no "sure" methodology for finding oil. It's a gamble. He said no one knows how much oil is in Alaska that it is a guess. So we could go through all the trouble of expensive pipelines, refineries, shipping, etc., spend ten years getting it all set up and still end up with less than if we tapped Wyoming. Why not invest in wind or solar?

Who said not to "invest" in those wastes of time.. go ahead.

In the meantime, we have plenty of places to get the black stuff from. Instead of this retarded policy of the Democrats keeping us from it and leaving us hostage to Venzeualla and Saudi Arabia.

I think common sense is to go for sustainable, renewable, not something made from finite resources. That is looking backwards when we have the technology to move forward.

What exactly is wrong with solar or wind? Read the Pickens Plan. He's a Republican. You'll like him.

Like I said. go for it. Where do you get this idea that I said not to?

Anyway, I used to buy into this left/right thing, but no more. You say the Liberals and Left is "us them" but what about the scare tactics used by Republicans to get people to agree with the war and the Patriot Act.

"If you're not for us, you're against us"

You're full of crap. you say you're not into the "right / left" thing and then you went ahead and prejudged a bunch of stuff I never even talked about.

That's a quote. Remember who from? I'll give you a hint. He was President.

Ironically, it is the opposite of what Jesus said: Those that are not against us are for us. Mark 9:40

Nothing bores me more than people who think they're clever throwing a bible verse at someone who says they're a christian. I think its presumptious and sanctimonious.

Federal Lawsuit Filed Over DHS ‘Rightwing Extremist’ Report

Guest Column | By Richard Thompson | April 20, 2009

The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced last week that it filed a federal lawsuit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. The lawsuit claims that her Department’s “Rightwing Extremism Policy, ” as reflected in the recently publicized Intelligence Assessment, “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment, ” violates the civil liberties of combat veterans as well as American citizens by targeting them for disfavored treatment on account of their political beliefs. Click here to read the complaint filed by the Thomas More Law Center.
.................
The Report specifically mentions the following political beliefs that law enforcement should use to determine whether someone is a “rightwing extremist”:

Opposes restrictions on firearms
Opposes lax immigration
Opposes the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs
Opposes continuation of free trade agreements
Opposes same-sex marriage
Has paranoia of foreign regimes
Fear of Communist regimes
Opposes one world government
Bemoans the decline of U.S. stature in the world.
Upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India
. . . and the list goes on.

No, you're the one bringing up the arguement. It's YOUR obligation to me, the opposition to the arguement, to give me the info. The same way I told you to even learn what a communist and stop spewing oxy-morons all over the place. So I gave you the link to the Communist Mannifesto. You read it yet????? Or you still think a corporate landowning billionare is a communist?

Who cares if Ted was buddies with Castro, and Breshnev? You do know there was no such thing as a "communist" nation right? All these government were STATE-CAPITALIST.

I suggest you read the Communist Mannifesto. You obviously don't understand communism or its goals or definitions. There's WAY too much to discuss.
Communist Mannifesto

Deny Ignorance.

Oh boy....another one...

I was born and raised part of my life in a Communist dictatorship... i was indoctrinated, like other Cuban children to believe on the Socialist ideals, being indoctrinated on the Communist manifesto, and essentially to believe in "Socialismo o la muerte' "Socialism or death", and yes Communists also describe themselves as Socialists...

Even Karl Marx himself stated that Socialism is but a stage to convert a Capitalist nation into Communism...

BTW, people like you should stop the BS claiming that no country has ever been Communist.... That is only an excuse Communists give to claim that their system must be tried because noone has really tried it....

I know what Communism is better than you, since i lived it, and experienced it, not like you and other westerners who, like you, have never experienced Communism but make the same rhetorical BS claims you just made.

BTW, yes you should follow your advice once in a while and instead of being an armchair general "deny ignorance" once in a while at least...

[edit on 28-8-2009 by ElectricUniverse]

It's Socialismo o Muerte. Hasta la Victoria Siempre. The letter given to Castro from el Che. Yes socialism, is a transition state, so is State-Capitalist countries, you ever even heard of them before? FYI My brother's father is from Cuba. You're stating the obvious with Marx, no duh he said that. It was always that.
Religion, Class, and Capital (Money). That's Capitalism. Communism lacks all of that. Read the link I gave. You obviously don't know what a communist is if you're calling TED TURNER a friggin' communist.

If this thread is going to turn into a personal whizzing contest, please don't, or we'll all have to unzip.

Becks numbers speak for themselves.

I find it interesting that many retired and elderly who are a bit more difficult to blow smoke past - have expressed to me that they are very thankful for FOX and for Beck.

Otherwise, no one would know about the baloney being dished out by the other networks.

Beck is crazy, he says some crazy things, I don't like him that much...but I don't like any newscaster at all, so he's probably an improvement...when O'Reilly retires he'll definitely take over his time slot. If you want to see brainwashing watch some Keith Olbermann, he was critical of the Bush administration, so people loved him for that...but that never changed the fact that he is a socialist mouthpiece for GE's government ties. As someone else said, if he can open just a few more eyes to government corruption...then more power to him. It's funny that when his advertisers were pulled he got a bigger audience
I guess that didn't go as liberals had planned

In full disclosure, I watch Glenn Beck...I also watch Keith Olbermann, and Jon Stewart. Somewhere in the middles is the truth.

Beck has a radio show that starts at 8AM which means he starts his work day probably a few hours before that. What makes you think he wants an 8PM time slot on TV?

FYI, there is this silly little thing called videotape. Beck's show currently airs live but O'Reilly is taped.

The O'Reilly Factor, unlike many other Fox News programs, is prerecorded, or "Live to Tape,"

You know that boycott of Glenn Beck organized by Colorofchange.org? It turns out that Color of Change is operated by Van Jones. And it turns out that –surprise, surprise – Van Jones is in the upper echelon of Obama’s White House, serving as the Special Advisor for Green Jobs on the White House Council on Environmental Quality, a division of the President’s Executive Office. In other words, an official White House official is now involved in direct attacks on speech

www.examiner.com... -nationalis

It’s official: the lefty organized boycotts of Whole Food and Glenn Beck have both been utter, abject failures and Whole Foods profits and Glenn Beck’s rating are both soaring.

"Van Jones’ Personal Push-Around President Puppet"

Meanwhile, the Marxist Obama administration will continue to send busloads of paid activists to Town Hall meetings and Tea Parties keeping up the pretext that Americans love his radical change.

And now they get their marching instructions.

These people that are breaking free.

These people who are no longer sheep.

These people are now going to become independent by taking orders from a guy that gets paid by the same people that they believed enslaved them.

God please tell this is a joke and that Americans really aren't this stupid.

Anyone who writes or speaks to the public has an agenda of some sort, so it all boils down to what agenda you agree with. If Beck wants to put effort in identifying the past and ideology of these people that Obama is picking, I am all for it, for I really do not see anyone else doing it.

You can call him an idiot etc, but he does have resources to dig out information and piece it together. Even if you looked at the information and came to your own conclusions it is still good info.
