TSA is considering a program under which it would give cash rewards to individuals who provide it with key information about crimes or transportation security violations.

The agency hasn't provided detailed information about the possible reward program, or explained the status of its internal decision-making process on this matter, but did disclose a bit of its thinking in a Federal Register notice it released on Aug. 26.

"TSA is in the process of developing a program to confer monetary or other recognition on individuals who provide valuable information to TSA about criminal acts or o

Hi All,

Here's Your chance for a job in a bum economy. You can be the first person in line to snitch out Your fellow Americans, and TSA very soon might be handing You a reward.

Enjoy the Banana Republic of The USA.

One more thought. Why wouldn't a terrorist just blow themselves up in the TSA safety check line? Seems it would cost far more than an airplane as it would be catastrophic? Maybe the only terrorists are in govt.

One more thing."Secretary Napolitano Announces New Directives on Border Searches of Electronic Media" Here's the link; basically Your fellow American will be able to get paid for snitching You out to the TSA for Your illegal downloads....

Hey, a new job! Buy a container full of those cheap folding knives (you get about 100 for 10 bucks) and then "slip" these onto people and go collect a "reward" when you happened to "see" one of these in someone's bag or pocket. Ingenious... why pick-pocket when this will be much more lucrative?

Just a bad example to be sure but hey, I can see it happening can't you?

I wonder how many wives will hid weapons, ammo, ECT in there husbands suitcases and then call TSA to be sure they are caught.

This would be a way for them to get the money for there divorce from there husband.

He might not even be there to contest the divorce if he is doing jail time for the weapons, ammo, ECT.
She might get everything in court if he is not there.

Yep,

Ya'll both are spot on it. The implications are incredible. How about the snitch who watches the next guy download off of Limewire in the airport. The snitch could tell TSA, and he'd get a reward.

The Limewire villain would of course have an extra 100k fine for the 100 songs he illegally downloaded.....gosh it's good to be free!
