Well i wouldn't doubt that. it's my favourite conspiracy of all time. And spoiler, it's obviously true.

i do it all the time. and i drive a 5-spd. so what? i still complain about people that can't drive. perhaps i'm just awesome.

Higher gas prices = less driving by idiots = less texting while driving

I wonder if typing on a keyboard or reading a computer screen while Patrolling the city is also stupid?

Here in Rochester we lost 5 young women to a deadly car crash a year or so ago. It was a tragedy and what was the cause...texting! How in the hell can anyone be so stupid as to do this while behind the wheel of a car. I just don't know what is wrong with people!

I only text at stop lights.
But, I will read texts anytime.
then again i'll check the weather online via a bookmark, but sometimes i mess up because of the touch screen.

I'd say so, so are the flashing lights on the side of the highway. I mean those new LED cop lights that are bright enough to cause 50,000,000 epileptic fits from a mile away.

If they were that stupid to be texting while driving it wasnt much of a tragedy, was it?

If some idiot is playing gameboy while driving or checking his blackberry while driving or making a sandwich while driving and happens to get into a wreck I find it hard to conjure up some pity and or sympathy.

This is why Hawaii now has a law that you cannot have your cellphone or any other mobile electronic device in your hand while behind the wheel or face being ticketed and fined - a law that will likely be coming to a state near you.

We've had that law in NY for years and I can spot people on a cell phone at least every 10th car. Unless you are cutting in and out of traffic the cops could care less...because they are too busy talking on their cell phones.
