No doubt my friend started the thread to "flame" the death. It appears so to me...now he's off and starting other HATE TED threads.....he's entitled.

I SUGGEST THEN THAT A THREAD LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE STARTED AT ALL.

His life was filled with glory and MISERY, TRAGEDIES, and he paid for Mary jo, he paid dearly. He wanted to be president, because of his wreckless actions, at the time, he never achieved this. PUNISHMENT.

Lucky are those of you who have NEVER HAD problems, regrets, etc.

Stay out of the thread if you must be so full of hate. Concentrate on all the other GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS who have done their share of evil, killing in the thousands or millions, go ahead, that will give you something to think about. Phoney wars, dead children......THINK.

So, the punishment for murder is not being able to be president of the United States?

Yeah, he paid dearly, alright... poor guy got away with having an affair with his wife and killing his mistress. Poor, poor man...

Those of you defending him are just exposing yourself as part of the herd of sheeple I so greatly despise.

It is you who allows politicians like T.K. to remain in office for 50 years and it is you who are destroying our nation with your "sympathy" for our representatives. Get real, people, he didn't care about you any more than he cared about our once-great nation.

I voted for RON PAUL BUDDY! Nice try with your stereotypical BS though! I've voted third party for the last 10-15 years. It's people like Kennedy and other career Senators.......ahem cough Byrd cough......that should have been kicked out on their butts long ago!

Here is food for thought. I dont think Ron Paul (or any respectful person) would like to be associated with the kind of person you are.

And to all those who cry that he has lived on the back of taxpayers money, well so have many other politicians. Even the ones you support. Andlike it or not, millions of americans respect him, thats one of the reasons Obama won the presidency.

RIP senator, sinceres condoleances to his family. He was a great man and a great politician.

Um, I didn't start this thread.

Dead or alive or dying...if I see a political figure, such as Ted Kennedy, doing wrong, I will say something. Thats my right. I still say the man was ONE of the problem figures at the root of this screwed up Government. He was one of the "old dogs" in DC. The more "old dogs" that are no longer in power, the better. Yes, he was human, and in that respect, I offer(ed) sympathy towards his family. I haven't attacked or bash his family or family life....just his messed up train of thoughts regarding his political career. Period.

Thats my final thought on the matter.

Well, FF, I was hoping that it would evolve into a discussion on the power shift in DC, his possible successors, the effect on pending legislation, etc.

But I've been around ATS for awhile. I have witnessed, in shock and disbelief, the animus and hatred spewed in the thread announcements of other public figures, such as Tony Snow. The absolute worst, imo, was the thread on Ronald Reagan's passing. I never realized there was that much hatred here.

So while I hoped it would evolve one way, unfortunately I should have known better.

You people though, should not start a post about dead people just to disrespect the dead.

I started this thread. Disrespect was not my intent.

No doubt my friend started the thread to "flame" the death. It appears so to me...now he's off and starting other HATE TED threads.....he's entitled.

DG, what the hell are you talking about? Where did I disrespect him? Where did I even encourage that sort of talk?

And where am I "off and starting other HATE TED threads"???

Even if we had discussed the impending power shift, it would have led to hate speech in regards to Ted Kennedy's refusal to leave office even though he knew he was dying.

The guy was a knob, all around. There's nothing we could discuss about him without coming up smelling like you-know-what...

Seriously he paid dearly for Mary Jo? Really? Go back to sleep and get out of the way of those who actually want to return this country to greatness. The guy was slime and a criminal, though I feel bad for his family, and dying the way he did was painful and horrible, it's better for everyone that he's dead.
