The Conspiracy to make the world believe Barack Obama is Black.

There exists a plot, global in nature, to make the world believe that Barack Obama is Black. In direct opposition to the scientific evidence this blatant falsehood is repeated Ad nauseam.

The concept of race and ethnicity is not attributable to the Y-Chromosome or Nuclear DNA, but to Mitochondrial DNA, which in humans is inherited from the mother.

excerpt from discussion of MtDNA:

Mitochondria are structures within cells that convert the energy from food into a form that cells can use. Although most DNA is packaged in chromosomes within the nucleus, mitochondria also have a small amount of their own DNA. This genetic material is known as mitochondrial DNA or mtDNA. In humans, mitochondrial DNA spans about 16,500 DNA building blocks (base pairs), representing a fraction of the total DNA in cells.

Unlike nuclear DNA, which is inherited from both parents and in which genes are rearranged in the process of recombination, there is usually no change in mtDNA from parent to offspring. Although mtDNA also recombines, it does so with copies of itself within the same mitochondrion. Because of this and because the mutation rate of animal mtDNA is higher than that of nuclear DNA,[17] mtDNA is a powerful tool for tracking ancestry through females (matrilineage) and has been used in this role to track the ancestry of many species back hundreds of generations.

Human mtDNA can also be used to identify individuals.[18] Forensic laboratories occasionally use mtDNA comparison to identify human remains, and especially to identify older unidentified skeletal remains. Although unlike nuclear DNA mtDNA is not specific to one individual, it can be used in combination with other evidence (anthropological evidence, circumstantial evidence, and the like) to establish identification. mtDNA is also used to exclude possible matches between missing persons and unidentified remains.[19] Many researchers believe that mtDNA is better suited to identification of older skeletal remains than nuclear DNA because the greater number of copies of mtDNA per cell increases the chance of obtaining a useful sample, and because a match with a living relative is possible even if numerous maternal generations separate the two. American outlaw Jesse James's remains were identified using a comparison between mtDNA extracted from his remains and the mtDNA of the son of the female-line great-granddaughter of his sister.[20] Similarly, the remains of Alexandra Feodorovna (Alix of Hesse), last Empress of Russia, and her children were identified by comparison of their mitochondrial DNA with that of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, whose maternal grandmother was Alexandra’s sister Victoria of Hesse.[21] Similarly to identify Emperor Nicholas II remains his mitochondrial DNA was compared with that of James Carnegie, 3rd Duke of Fife, whose maternal great-grandmother Alexandra of Denmark (Queen Alexandra) was sister of Nicholas II mother Dagmar of Denmark (Empress Maria Feodorovna). [22]

The low effective population size and rapid mutation rate (in animals) makes mtDNA useful for assessing genetic relationships of individuals or groups within a species and also for identifying and quantifying the phylogeny (evolutionary relationships; see phylogenetics) among different species, provided they are not too distantly related. To do this, biologists determine and then compare the mtDNA sequences from different individuals or species. Data from the comparisons is used to construct a network of relationships among the sequences, which provides an estimate of the relationships among the individuals or species from which the mtDNAs were taken. This approach has limits that are imposed by the rate of mtDNA sequence change. In animals, the rapid rate of change makes mtDNA most useful for comparisons of individuals within species and for comparisons of species that are closely or moderately-closely related, among which the number of sequence differences can be easily counted. As the species become more distantly related, the number of sequence differences becomes very large; changes begin to accumulate on changes until an accurate count becomes impossible.

In short...this means that if geneticists find Barack Obama's remains in 50,000 years in the absence of any other evidence they will say he is a White European. Get it?

I think this plot has manifested to get all the race based politicists to combine their forces on the basis of this man's race. Perhaps they want to leave behind a story that suggests a Black Man destroyed America. But now, since I have clearly pointed out that it is a LIE you can all know that anyone who continues to assert that Barack Hussein Obama is black is definately a liar and nothing they say is credible.

I knew there was something I didn't like about him!Just kidding, but really I don't care what color he is I don't care for his agenda.

Yes, his agenda probably is just as awful as all of his predecessors. Let's siege the palace because of that not because of his race.

Okay, I wasn't daunted by the Wall O' Text and actually read every word, yet I fail to understand your jumps in logic.

Has it really come to this?

"I don't want to be Racist because I hate Obama, so if I can prove he's not really Black I can hate him as much as I want and not feel guilty about it."

"Even though his skin is black, he isn't really black, even though he claims he is, that makes everything he says a lie."

I'm really scratching my forehead on this one. I want to understand but I'm not really getting it. It appears to be nothing more than desperately trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel when there is nothing left to justify your opposition.

Come on any time anyone has a drip of negroid in their ancestry they become "Black" by default! Remember the BS over Halle Berry? She is half white but to the public she is "Black". The general population is so ignorant they only deal with generalities and not specifics!

OK, this is the biggest load of crap I've read on this site in quite some time! Of course his MtDNA is european, his mother was white as the driven snow. But really, have you seen a picture of his father??? No one has ever said that he was 100% black. His ancestry has never been a secret. The man is half black and half white. In our current culture, there is no box for half and half. And if he claimed to be white, the entire world would be in an uproar. So until there is a mulatto box, he falls into the African-American category. PERIOD!

After 8 years of the dumbest SOB to ever hold the office, why is it that the right is hell bent on demonizing this man??? Gimme a damn break!

Don't scratch so hard...understanding won't be such a stretch. Racism is very popular in America; has been for quite awhile as far as I can tell. If Obama is Black, it will be easier for the Racists, which are many, to bind together.

What's even more alarming is many Americans pretending that racism doesn't exist and hasn't been used to gather together groups of people who wouldn't necessarily have come together.

If Obama is either white, or at least not black...race can't be used to organize political or economic lynch mobs. Look at the news of the most covered President and candidate for President in modern History...are you paying attention because of his electric and inspiring speeches?

In short, opposition to Obama's policies are given leverage by using his race. Play the game if you is the truth.

I am sure there exists an honest racist somewhere. He'll/She'll tell you..."I don't to much care about the issue of socialized healthcare, I just hate black people so I'll sign your petition." They'd go on to say, "I don't want my employer to find out I am a racist, it is bad for my career (ie Glenn Beck), so I'd much rather do this if I believe its about ideological differences." Perhaps if you understand what Obama is in fact, you for once in your lives realize that someone is getting you to attack this point I would normally add and insult directed at the reader.

But not ATS, the most tolerant conspiracy forum on the internet, huh? You guys don't know what I am talking about.

If people only based people on mitochondrial DNA then the world wouldn't know race and religion.

Fact is, no matter what DNA is, he "looks" black.

and people can argue his mother is white all they want. Fact is, as I always say: if he were an adult 50 years ago, he would of had to ride in the back of the bus.

He faced a lot of discrimination as a child. A white child, would not of been called discriminatory names.

Besides, his DNA would of carried far more information then that. And it is not uncommon for people to get their DNA tested, only to find out they are not who they thought they were.

I heard a segment on NPR about this. And many people end up being surprised. ONe woman was raised black, identified herself black, the whole nine yards. ONly when she got the tests back, found out that a lot of her makeup was middle eastern, some white, and actually only a little black.
She wished she never had the test done because now she had an identity crisis on her hands.

DNA is for identifying fathers and solving crimes. It doesn't say who is person is.

If Obama looks black and is raised black, he is black.

And why are people so threatened by this?

Here in South Africa we have blacks, whites and coloured. If you go to the police station and report a accident you have to fill in out of those 3 choices. Your president isn't just black he has a white mother. All that aside, this thread is a joke and the mods are the biggest joke for even letting this # take off. Seriously is this how bad your country is now? Americans are slowly starting to lose my respect around here. Guys whine and winge all the time, you've had control of the world, controlled the economy for ages. WTF do you have to complain about? Come live here for a while. If you make it home alive I'm sure for once you can appreciate what you have. Sorry about the rant but I've never been exposed to so many spoilt people moaning before as I have on this site.

The problem stems from the fact that most of my countrymen (and women) have never traveled abroad, so they have no real idea of the world other than what the see in the media and read online or in newspapers. In fact, you'd be surprised how many have never been more than 100 miles from the place of their birth.

I wish you had said that to me while I was writing, I would have used something more to that affect. But seriously there is a certain amount of BS in calling Obama black. The first thing that comes to mind is playing on that misconception for political gain. [And I don't mean the race card]

Barry Hussein Soetoro, the sixth mixed race President of the United States.

Anyway, who cares? Really?

We shouldn't be concentrating on race here. I don't think he's misrepresented himself on this issue, so there's no deception or other issue in my view.

We should concentrate on policies and actions.

If this isn't the most ridiculous thread on ats I don't know what is.

As the parent of 4 mixed race children I can tell you that he and all of mixed heritage are considered both! Sadly it has only been very recently that an option for mixed race people even exist on most government forms.

The term mulatto is a racist term that has its origins back to slave days. It is based upon the term mule, a mixture of a horse and a donkey, that term is outdated and is stupid! I have never allowed my kids to use that term in regards to themselves, nor have I ever allowed anyone to refer to them in that way in my presence.

In the old days terms like quadroon and octaroon were used to denote those who were a quarter or an eighth black and were considered by the government and society as black and could be subject to serious penalties if they attempted to "pass" as white.

Obama is a man of mixed heritage, period! He is as much a black man as he is a white man. I get so tired of all this crap about the man's race. His policies are wrong, he lied and deceived millions of well meaning Americans that were seeking a much needed change.

Now we know that it does not matter what race a politician is, they are all crooked and they have an agenda that outweighs any racial issues. Because a person challenges his policies does not, I repeat does not make them a racist. If you are that afraid to challenge him because someone may call you a racist, perhaps you protest too much. LOL

He is a lousy pawn just like the all the others. NO matter what color he is, the man is a liar and is out for glory.

A conspiracy definately exists...your out of context responses and refusal to accept the obvious reveals it. Hoping that the mods intervene to shut out any real discussion about what is happening.

South Africa, a nation that destroyed itself just 20 years ago in this very manner, and now you lecture me on what is what in this world. You'll be like Zimbabwe shortly, stewing in your hate. I know how powerful and wealthy America is...and I also know how it got their.

I want to see America make it through this time, that is why I post. The opposition is using false information concerning Obama's race to mobilize its forces. Obama said he is black...Obama is trying to kill the conversation because he doesn't want it to matter. Based on your predictable beliefs if he gets to deep into the debate he knows it becomes a distraction. Get in a real conversation with the man and you'll learn what he really thinks concerning his identity.

I am willing to bet money that opposition to Obama's policies would not be as strong if not for the issue of his race. John McCain was born in Panama...but how often was his eligibility to run for president questioned? But these ridiculous issues persist in the case of his comrade?

I started this thread after reading the thread:

Black President: Does this mean blacks will rule?

That thread had multiple pages of responses...So this one couldn't possibly be the stupidest.

How about this for a change...why don't you people address the issue and not your personal experiences and opinions concerning race.

The issue is that OBAMA RACE IS USED TO LEVERAGE OPPOSITION EFFORTS AGAINST HIM. My point was to say anyone using this Black Man concept with references to him or that it should matter is lying because Obama is not Black.

Please step down from your Rainbow Coalition soapbox's and understand the accusation I made against people using Obama's race as leverage to promote its agenda.

well to tell you the truth, I dont think in those terms unless someone like yourself points them out. and yes, if you put another races female next to my race ... I would pick my race ... but does that make me a racist. I just feel I would have more in common with. food, the way you sleep... basically, compatibility issues more than those of race ... what do you think... Am I a racist..? I dont know.. maybe
