Is this what the governments wants?

I've been on the boards all weekend and I get the sense people are searching for a story.Is it a slow news cycle?Is it because the kids are going back to school?Is it some thing that happens periodically here on ATS?I think its because everyone is tired of the political fighting.I think that if you were to ask any one who considered themselves liberal/republican/conservative/democrat/etc. they would say there vision of America is that of a unified nation with different opinions with one goal, a better America!l But we are as divided as I have ever seen,with each side absolutely sure that their side is right and the other wrong.Was that the goal?Two phrases come to mind
1-"one nation under god"
2-Divided we fall
