That time of the year is coming up again as it does every year since that fateful day where 2,993 innocent people lost their lives. People of different origins, different cultures, from about 90 different countries died for no just reason, no matter what you believe to be the 'truth.'

Set aside your opinions on the truth that no one will ever know for sure and pay respect to those who were killed on that day, September 11th, as well as the brave men and women sent into the Middle East against their will, many of whom died for a cause many Americans feel unjust.

Here is my tribute to those men, women, and children that were taken from this world.

May they finally rest in peace.

Ode to September 11th

In our attempt to find the truth among lies,
We nearly forget the innocent lives
Lost on that fateful day.

On that day, that fateful day, we stood as one;
Knowing our battle's far from done.
Saluting troops in a large parade.

As marching soldiers storm the desert,
'Tell the truth' chant protesters.
While the elitists have it made.

Young men and women die each day
While the rich and old repeatedly say,
'Must avenge the World Trade..'

Year by year that day passes,
Striking silence to the masses
For a few moments at least.

If there be a God, I hope he guides you to Heaven
As the rest of the world remembers the day, September 11.
So rest in peace knowing your song is sung,
As We The People stand as one.
