Nice one Essan, you even got some iridescence in there

Good indicator of a rapidly forming cirrus type cloud. My understanding is that iridescence occurs usually where cirrus or altocumulus clouds have water droplets or ice crystals, of the same size. Thats why you often see it at the leading edge of growing clouds

www.youtube.com...

does that help. i know there's alot of different clouds in here. if you don't mind pointing out to me what a few different types of clouds we are seeing here in that vid.

maui says the skies over there look different so i'd like to know what clouds are uncommon for the islands. thanks.

Nice pictures of chemtrails!

Thats pictures of cirrus and also some iridescence. You should do some research

Here's a link

www.atoptics.co.uk...

By the way, the upper air data from the weather balloon supports Essans observation

If you had embedded it correctly, the video would have the traingular "play" button in it.

It works for me.
It's a collection of cirrus clouds and cumulus clouds. With a nice addition of a mackerel sky (altocumulus). I see nothing unusual in any of it.

Here's a really nice example

I really think that the conditions are just suitable for them here.
I have seen them often enough.

I'll take my camcorder with me tomorrow (makes mental note). Perhaps I can catch another one before the front moves in completely. I'm not sure at what time the weather is supposed to turn sour, but I think it may be spotty.

Like today perhaps, but with more moisture yet.

I'll try my best.

It would be cool if you could grab a look here and see if you can take a stab at ID'ing the planes you're spotting. The first number on the second line of each ID is the altitude in 100's.

Alright, I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
Or, in the case of rain, whenever I can spot them again. Shouldn't be long, though.
However, I have a question.
How do you use that site to track these planes visually?
I mean, I plan to gain some video, if possible. But with a quick look-through of the site, I couldn't find any way to track the planes at all.

By my eye I can tell if they are landing at XNA, as it is very close. They are either approaching, or they aren't.
If they aren't, they are flying over and they are therefore too high to get a good visual on the jet.
I said that today I could see the jet, and I could. But only enough of it to see that it was a big jet. Other than that, I couldn't tell much.

That's why I said "take a stab" at it. There would be some guesswork and luck involved. When you see a contrail being formed overhead, check the website (if you can) to see if there is a plane showing over your location. You should be able to make some correlation.

Oh, okay.
When I went to the site I was thinking you were requesting me identify the planes I saw today.

If I record some of the contrails then I can simply go back and look at the flight data.
It will actually be somewhat easy, considering XNA is so close to me. I should be able to note if it is an over-flight or something coming in.

I'll give it a crack tomorrow.

PS - Normally, I don't have access to the net during the day. Which is why I need to film them.
That way I can get a rough idea of heading and whatnot. Possibly even a guesstimate of altitude to compare to the site's data.
