Excellent idea! Count me in. Nothing noteworthy going on in the sky here right now. No contrails and very light clouds. Edited to add that I
should probably mention that I'm in central Kentucky.
Temp: 71 F
Humidity: 74%
Dew Point: 59° F
Pressure: 30.04 in
Visibility: 10 Miles
Took these pics, even though there isn't much to see, lol.
And I just want to throw this in there, even though it may not mean anything whatsoever, but I do contract work for NOAA. I only work with historical
weather data... I think it only goes back to the 1870's. Anyway, I've been noticing that they started keeping up with when weather conditions were
favorable for contrails to form around the 1960's.

Adelaide over here in Australia is currently experiencing some severe weather from a cold front, heavy cirrus was apparently observed yesterday, and at
about 25,000ft, conditions were, and still are, right for contrail persistence.

Just to add, here at Woomera, we are getting the northern edge of the cold front, and as expecte, Im observing lots of thick cirrus clouds.
Unfortunantly I got no air traffic at the moment, but I will take some photos shortly to show what Ive got.
Im also going to check and see if any contrails were present yesterday with a mate in Adelaide airport
Here's the synoptic situation at the moment. I would expect contrails to be visible over Victoria later todayas the front moves east, so if anyone is
in Victoria, can you get snapping?

This is a great idea for a thread, Oz.
I'll snap a couple of photos and try my best to contribute.
If I find anything worth loading up, I'll try and help with some of the legwork on the weather info, but you're the expert.

Well, I am kinda new to this, I only found out what was going on about 2 months ago, when a friend started pointing them out to me. I thought she was
nuts at first but then I realized that unless it was a psychosomatic reaction what she was saying was true so I will do my best to participate.

the purpose of chemtrail would be to affect people, right? (cuz it sure aint to save the whales). and yet there are hardly ever any chemtrails in los
angeles where as the sky is full of it over the rural town of palmdale- hour north east of LA and 2000 feet above. my theory had been that the trails
above palmdale were ultimately aimed toward the LA basin. anybody care to comfirm this via wind direction research n whatnot? flouride in the water,
chemtrails in the air.

I don't think the purpose of this thread is to speculate about the purpose of chemtrails or how they might be "aimed". It is to look for
correlations between upper air soundings (weather at high altitudes) and the appearance of persistent contrails (which are claimed by some to be
chemtrails).
Unfortunately, living in a tropical tradewind regime, I'm probably not going to be able to contribute many observations. I observe contrails very
rarely and usually only in early spring and late fall. But when I do see some I will be sure to report them.

...and yet there are hardly ever any chemtrails in los angeles...
Because "chemtrails" are a myth...
... where as the sky is full of it over the rural town of palmdale...
Really? SO, these allegedly bad "chemtrails" aren't "sprayed" over the major metropolitan area of LA, but North, in the High desert....where,
BTW, there are Military installations, and the Los Angeles ARTCC (Air Route Traffic Contorl Center) facilites are located???
Sorta throws the "chemtrail" theories all in disarray, huh? "Poisoning" jackalopes, are they??
Since you live in LA, you should know the prevailing surface winds are generally from the West, at least where LAX is located, near the beach and El
Segundo. Hint: Airport runways are designed and BUILT to favor the normal wind direction.
Upper level, high-altitude winds are generally from the West as well, but like weather, they will differ from day to day, direction and velocity. So
do humidity levels, temperatues, etc.
Lack of contrails is most likely because of the geographical location of LA, and other cities in California and elsewhere, relative to any air traffic
transiting overhead.
There is a system of Mainland/Hawaii parallel tracks, anchored near the West Coast at various locations, so some Eastbound/Westbound flights that are
on the tracks that transit the LA area might leave contrails, sometimes. OR, there are the largely North/South flights, from say, SAN to SFO, PDX or
SEA (and others) that will pass overhead. AND pass over Palmdale....

I'll see what I can find out. I have a friend who has been researching this and she is from Whittier. She isn't home right now but I left a message.
Hopefully she can answer your question.

Try to help and not hinder.
The result of this could actually change minds, including mine if weather conditions effect contrails/chemtrails.
You don't belong here if you're going to continue with the insults.

I am in Kentucky, Louisville to be exact.
Thats close to Tennesee right?
The only problem, with Kentucky is that they dont have an upper air program, in the state. However, as Tennesee is directly to the east (or is it
south), it would be the closet representation to Kentucky

On October 2, 2001, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) introduced the "Space Preservation Act of 2001" (HR 2977), which called for the elimination of
"exotic weaponry" from space. Among the weapons to be banned were weather-modifying weapons such as HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research
Program) and chemtrails. Though HR 3616 was later amended to remove the section that would have banned chemtrails, the original bill acknowledging the
existence of chemtrail technology remains on the pages of the Congressional Record.

That bill was never passed, it has been addressed before, and just becuase chemtrails were named, does not mean that chemtrails exist.
Also, this post is off topic. If you have something to contribute, that would be great, but keep on track

I'll keep an eyeball out & report back if I see anything pertinent.
First thread of this kind I've seen here. A research thread, check your opinion at the door.
Good idea.
Maybe we can answer the questions once & for all.
