i do not see any reason why the usa should softhandle warcriminals who:

-shot several usa soldiers and killed them and then stood up with raised hands and surrendered.

-high rank irak militairy who mingled under common soldiers having exchanged their high rank uniform for (the taken with force from) a low rank irak soldier to escape beeing caught .

i even grant the usa to exectute irak war criminals by firing squad or hanging from the neck as this is common in militairy court martials.

the usa intelligence services could have done a much better job if... some despicable civilian mal informed had not ruined the handling of the objects...just to get publicity and pro- usa attacking comments media.

Islam does not oppress women, in fact go have a meal with a Muslim family and express that attitude and you'll be laughed out of the house. I know, I did it once. Women in western Muslim society tend to be the dominant gender, Its just expressed in ways WASP culture rarely perceives.

The prisoners that were eventually freed must have been truly traumatized and humiliated.

Not only that... this is a country whose culture is based on honor and sanctions honor killings. Think about the pictures in those contexts.

I think so... and in the dehumanization of the Iraquis. They aren't seen as people and there's no shriek over the number of Iraquis killed in Bush's glorious little feud (fairly reliable estimates put it at something like 10,000.)

Now-- there ARE good soldiers there and many do care for the people and there are many Westerners there trying to help the situation and help the economy recover. But they are going into a situation where they are set up as minions of a warmonger and invader, whose people are eager to abuse and torture and rape the Iraqui people.

Yes, the abusers are few... but to the people who had their country invaded by us, they represent the face of the conquerer and the US in general.

I've been to plenty of Muslim countries. For example, I didn't see any people killing other people in Indonesia, and I was there for 3 months. I witnessed nothing barbaric or evil. Where did you go?
