Music artist's trying to wake people up :)

Yeah, you can't really hear the message too clearly through the blast beats and low mixed incoherent growls, but that's kinda what I like about it in a sense. For me, seeing as I'm not a dude that enjoys vocals a whole deal, with the song title and sound that's conveyed through the music my imagination becomes really stimulated and pictures start to conjure. One of the great things about music for me.

You are right, though. I'm still trying to look for a band that has brvtal heaviness and stuff with those transcendental elements that really take you to another place, but it's hard to find that type of music. I think the closest I've come to that sort of music is stuff from the atmospheric sludge genre. Unfortunately they don't deal with the concepts of aliens and general conspiracies.

To sum everything up, though, I guess I'm just saying I like ideas communicated in the form of badass riffs.

The point is that "badassness" isn't reserved for folks who laugh at quarter-notes.

Emotion is where it is at. Especially in regards to "waking people up"... You simply aren't going to do it with "brutality".
In fact, "brutal" works are counter-productive to the idea.

Works for the Truther movement, doesn't it?

But I do definitely agree with what you say. Emotion before brutality, but I just can't really manage to enjoy a lot of singer/songwriter works. It's probably definitely more effective to get a message across, though.

There's a problem, though. When you're a singer/songwriter you have to somewhat try and enter the mainstream and if you're dealing with matters that are deemed "far out" no one will want you. Being an underground singer/songwriter would be difficult, too, because your message will, half of the time, be told to a bunch of drunks at a pub. Then, there's that message wasted.



In saying that, though. I'm not too sure what's it like to be out there, anyway. I still have to get on that, but I need a damn stable band with likeminded people.

This stuff isn't anything new.

Musicians have ALWAYS spoken about corruption.
It is their trade.
They note their observations and if they resonate, they work.

This is the nature of art. It revolutionizes.
Problem is, it takes too long.

Some powerful music so far, keep them coming.

I like IT, Rage, Tool, KRS One, Mos Def, Taleb Kweli and so many more!

Revolutionary music is back and it's being heard. I would have to agree with ProtoplasmicTraveller though, most of it just fires people up without offering a direction. There needs to be more emphasis put on ways we can achieve these ideas. That being said, quite a few of the artists mentioned in this thread are walking the talk. IT has just been helping kids in Afghanistan and he is consistently reaching out to anyone and everyone who wants to help the grassroots movement grow.

The album, 36 songs averaging 3:30, is loaded with awesome Joe Strummer lyrics. No other album by the Clash is loaded with as much insight and idealism, and is very often overlooked by most Clash fans infavor of the more tuneful albums like London Calling.
