Step right up. Put YOUR necks on the line, right here. See, it doesn't hurt, Comfy? Good. (You won't hear the descent of the falling blade.)

a current Democratic bill decides whether your quality of life ... merits government-controlled funds to keep you alive. Watch for that life-decider in the final bill. It's already in the stimulus bill signed into law.

They will be dealt with accordingly.

Seeing as how Washington was the first Pres to declare martial law and send federal troops to blow away a bunch of protesting citizens I can't say there has ever been an administration that we shouldnt have been wary of.

It was this month 1794. Folks didnt like their new tax. Thought it was a bit odd they just fought a war to avoid such taxes and here was their new "liberty" minded government screwing them just like that last one. They said "nah, this isnt cool with us" and George Washington blew them away. It was admitted as a test for federal authority. They sent in as many fed troops as fhought the Revolution to sack a bunch of Pennsylvanian farmers.

That was the day America died. It stay dead ever since.

I have been afraid ever since I started looking into the health care reform BILLS there is not one completed Bill yet. They will say anything to get people in the Lemming line.
All the Bills have to go before the committee where they will be melded into One Bill.
No One Knows What this Final Bill will be.
Well not the American Public anyway. Anytime they ( the administration ) refers to The health care reform Bill the are LYING out their collective Asses!
Be Afraid Be Very Afraid.

BUT listen to Me on this.
While we are all concentrated on this health care reform this Administration is sneaking through the Cap and Trade Bill which will be Much more devastating to your Daily Life. PLEASE go look at this Bill it is on the Senate Calendar!

Establishment- The Administrator shall develop and implement, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, standards for a national energy and environmental building retrofit policy for single-family and multifamily residences.
(B) RESIDENTIAL DATABASES- The Administrator, in consultation with the Energy Information Administration and the Secretary of Energy, shall support improvements to the Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) as authorized by section 205(k) of the Department of Energy Organization Act (42 U.S.C. 7135(k)), or such other residential energy performance databases as the Administrator considers appropriate, to aid the development of achieved performance measurement protocols for residential building energy use for at least 90 percent of the residential market within 5 years after the date of enactment of this Act.

SEC. 304. GREATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN BUILDING CODES.

`(A) effective on the date of enactment of the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, 30 percent reduction in energy use relative to a comparable building constructed in compliance with the baseline code;

`(B) effective January 1, 2014, for residential buildings, and January 1, 2015, for commercial buildings, 50 percent reduction in energy use relative to the baseline code; and

`(C) effective January 1, 2017, for residential buildings, and January 1, 2018, for commercial buildings, and every 3 years thereafter, respectively, through January 1, 2029, and January 1, 2030, 5 percent additional reduction in energy use relative to the baseline code.

Hmm.

And isn't it interesting that the representatives deny this and state it is "wrong", when they haven't even read it all?

Then, they suggest that people should "trust their government". They look incredulous that any person should dare have any reason not to trust the government.
Yes, trust the same government that has squandered trillions of your dollars and says you cannot be told about it.
Yeah, trust a government that blocks real investigation into the worst terrorist attack to have ever been committed.
Sure, trust a government who's elected leader made numerous promises on the campaign trail and has REVERSED his stance on most of them or completely failed to act on others.

Yep, just like here in the UK, no reason not to "trust your government" at all.

Quick, let's all line up for the Obama Carousel.

Can you say Logan's Run?

Logan's Run is a novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. Published in 1967, it depicts a dystopian future society in which population and the consumption of resources is managed and maintained in equilibrium by the simple expedient of demanding the death of everyone upon reaching a particular age, thus avoiding the issue of overpopulation.

Just leave it all to the private sector then???? Leave it all to profit and loss.
Surely, the USA can develop a healthcare system that encompasses the whole country without the economy collapsing. It is the only country in the (free) world that hasn't got it together yet so go Obama go!
The British system isn't so bad. At least you are GUARANTEED to be taken care of.
Rather trust the government than the capitalist corporations.

I guess it all depends upon what you mean by "taken care of."

National Health Service? "Elderly left at risk by bidding to find cheapest care"

"Patients live in agony after NHS refuses to pay for pain management"

If you haven't bothered to read the bill's language, that's your choice.
It's repeated about 5 posts up, but you didn't read the thread, did you?

Have a grownup explain the big words (and the little ones, too).

It's in HB3200, section 1233; and all over the internet and ATS.

Regardless of the forum, Henthoff is a respected columnist and commentator; a frequent guest on left-wing NPR.

Deny ignorance!

Do not be scared or be worried because the Weople can depend on this

administration's non-truths. It is nice to know the Weople can depend on

something the government is doing or saying to them even if it is double talk,

going back on their word, talking down to us or changing their minds as the

wind blows. At least this administration is consistent about something. ^Y^
