Obama Hurt by Health-Care Confusion, Lack of Leadership

Another day brings another new poll showing what's obvious to all but the most strident Democratic partisans: Obama's health-care reform effort is floundering.
According to the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll:

•Obama's overall approval ratings have fallen to 51% vs. 61% in April.
•Only 41% approve of Obama's handling of health-care reform and only 24% believe it will improve the quality of care.
•54% worry the government will go too far in reforming the system while 41% worry it won't do enough to lower costs and cover the uninsured.
Faced with these poll numbers and a general sense health-care reform is on the ropes, the Obama administration is set to roll out yet another shift to its health-care pitch next month, The Wall Street Journal reports.

And there's the rub: Instead of laying out a specific program from the onset (or perhaps waiting for the economic crisis to subside first) Obama directed Congress to hash out a bill. Inevitably, that led to partisan bickering, fear mongering and political stalemates contributing to a view among many Americans that the only thing the government can do well is run up the Federal deficit.

In sum, Obama has failed to lead on health care and has squandered a lot of political capital in the process, disappointing his supporters on the left (almost) as much as his opponents on the right.

Is it about time to bring out the Sandman? I have been saying for a few months now how this Admin is like watching Showtime At the Apollo.

Hopefully this will kill cap and trade too, that is another monstrosity of waste.

ObamaCare is dead.
I wish Pelosi would call the opponents un-american just one more time.
I can't wait to kick her off the Gulfstream 5 business jets.
I want to see her ride the train to California.

If Obama and the dems wanted to pass HC, they could have easily done so. Methinks this is just a diversion.

As the article indicates, Obama's biggest mistake was in handing it over completely to the Dem moonbats in Congress instead of setting a framework of clear, non-negotiable goals for them in the beginning. Now, even his own party can't come to an agreement on a final bill to support and are bickering amongst each other, all the while labeling anyone who disagrees with their idiocy as un-American or worse. Obama, meanwhile, is sending out mixed messages all over the place, the latest whether the public option is dead or not.

Can anyone really blame the public for jumping ship? They're being asked to support a confusing, chaotic mess of a healthcare proposal at this point from a bunch of politicians in Congress who are largely acting like children.

Check out politico.com
A democrat congressman is open to start all over from scratch.
It's over.
Throw the 1,000 page nonsense in the fireplace and start over.
No Death Panel
No Canadian Health Care Trojan Horse
Focus on Tort Reform..........good luck with that.

I don't know if I'm ready to call this abomination dead yet, but the chances that this 'reform' bill passes are deteriorating rapidly at this point. Its no longer just Republicans and the public at large that are angry, but Obama is now facing open revolt from the far left any time he floats a possible compromise. The loony left-wing of Congress isn't going to let anything pass without a strong public option, it seems, and in doing so, they may well put the final nail in the coffin. Good riddance, I say.

Don't get your hopes too high, the health care bill will pass congress regardless of how the polls show how people are not happy.

Remember we got the bailout bill when people were more outraged also.

Now a days it doesn't matter what we want.

So just ride the wave.

That was funny.
The white house floats a compromise on Sunday.
The left wing loons go crazy and the white house spin was "Oh, ummmm
she misspoke." Yeah, right.

Well, at least the republicans are united.
We also have the AARP in our corner. November 2010 should be a
great month for the GOP.

This is different. Now the sleeping giant is awake.
We are seeing through the Left wing Smoke and Mirrors.
The ObamaCare cockpit is on fire and it's in a tailspin.
