Wow some democrats & left leaning journalist really suck at arguing their opinions. I won’t name names, but many of them simply cannot defend solid facts. Come mid-debate they turn into stuttering, acquiescent idiots who get derailed by petty, talking points, then chase them into oblivion. I can’t help share in a giggle with republicans at the ease with which they can disrupt what should be a winning position held by a democrat. While dems are busy using flowery adjectives, and flaunting their vocabularies in drawn out sermons, their counterpart pitbulls are ripping into the jugular, and it is the FIGHT not the issues that matters to most Americans. Democrats constantly miscalculate the idiocy of the American people unlike the republicans who use it to their advantage. And John Kerry in 2004? It must have been a conservative think-tank that hatched that one. He seems like a moral guy, but he had this ‘poker-up-the-butt’ air that clearly would not fly with any red state. I mean, rural America is filled with bloodhound republicans who can sniff out stuffy liberals like Kerry quicker than the townspeople in resident evil 4 can find Leon.

Ah, yes.

And then there are gems like Glenn Beck who really show what the Republican Party is all about.

Thank goodness for that.

Generalizing based on individuals is a bad thing.

I don’t drink republican kool-aid either. I’m just saying, tactically the democrats have a lot to learn from the republicans about fighting in the trenches. Actually generalizing can be a good thing, democrats don't do it enough.

It did help (picking self up from flop-cry session.) Your statement: “And Republicans could learn a lot from lefties on what a heart and emotion are” will make me think, then digest, then probably form other opinions which might never had been born otherwise. I shall go reflect on your words.

Democrats need to grow a pair and a spine. It is time to pass health care without the Republicans who have been stating they will not vote for any bill. The Blue Dogs (Conservadems) should be brought into line like old LBJ did when he wanted stuff passed. The time for bipartisanship failed when the stimulus package received only three Republican votes despite the addition of the Republicans' beloved tax cuts.

The best progressive journalist is Rachel Maddow. She will take the Democrats and Barack Obama to task when necessary. That is rare on both sides of the aisle, when one member of the party goes after the others for breaking promises or backing out of a deal. She also has been the only journalist to make the connection between the lobbyists and the "grass roots" protesters who shout down the Democrats' town hall meetings.

It will always be politics as usual with both parties taking the lobby money of the big corporations that really run this country.

So it helped you...ok well done but it did nothing for me because I know generalizations aren't always true and cannot be used to blanket a set of people. So I am glad my fake republican bigotry helped.

And no...I don't flop-cry over any politics

and yes...I know not all Republicans and anything like what I describe

You said “generalizations cannot be used to blanket people.” Newsflash: It may not be ethical, but generalizations ARE used to blanket people every second of the day. You don’t cry-flop? C’mon it’s the latest sensation.

Yup Democrats need to grow a set.

Maddow is excellent at breaking it down, and John Stewart asks tougher questions than
our real reporters. It’s sad that these few voices have more doggedness, direction than the elected democrats who can actually make a difference in congress. They always have to do the brunt of the work, spreading the message of hope while the democrats in congress sell us out.

I can’t subscribe to liberalism today as much as I once did, only because your average American doesn’t appreciate, or respect anything that his government can do for him. Pillars like Maddow can fight night and day for universal healthcare, for justice against corruption, but at some point the people have to put down their sugar donuts and fight for it themselves, and some want to, but the majority does not, with lasting conviction.

People are far too self-absorbed nowadays, they don’t have the heart to fight injustice or vote for a better way of life. We the few need something new.

Well stated, sexysadie! I wish I could give you a star, but that is not an option here.

It is always up to the people to fight for what they want, and right now they could care less about affordable health care. Until they need it, that is.

But don't worry, Big Pharma and all the other lobbies will make sure nothing ever changes. They will create the grass roots groups to show the corporate rage!

I thought The Daily Show did a great job with that health insurance lobbyist who started the granny death panel rumors. She got her a$$ handed to her on that show.
