The Democrats have indicated today that they may try to pass the health care bill WITHOUT any Republican support:
DEMS PLAN TO GO IT ALONE ON HEALTHCARE.(Drudge link)
WASHINGTON — Given hardening Republican opposition to congressional health care proposals, Democrats now say they see little chance for the
minority's cooperation in approving any overhaul, and are increasingly focused on drawing support for a final plan from within their own ranks.
Top Democrats said Tuesday that their go-it-alone view was being shaped by what they saw as Republicans' purposely strident tone against health care
legislation during this month's congressional recess, as well as remarks by leading Republicans that current proposals were flawed beyond repair.
The White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, said of Republican lawmakers, "Only a handful seem interested in the type of comprehensive reform that so
many people believe is necessary to ensure the principles and the goals that the president has laid out."
The Democratic shift may not make producing a final bill much easier. The party must still reconcile the views of moderate and conservative Democrats
worried about the cost and scope of the legislation with those of more progressive lawmakers determined to win a government-run insurance option to
compete with private insurers.
On the other hand, such a change could alter the dynamic of talks surrounding health care legislation, and even change the substance of a final bill.
With no need to negotiate with Republicans, Democrats might be better able to focus their energy to move more quickly, relying on their large
majorities in both houses.
If they do, and if they succeed, then I see a very real chance that it would result in violence in the street, not necessarily from the average
American, but as a result of provocateurs led by the Insurance Industry. They would NEVER allow the public option to succeed, as it would INDEED mean
the end of private insurance within a matter of years.
What people forget is that the Corporations CONTROL this country, and the economy, and I could EASILY see an assassination plot similar to what
developed in the 1930's, when FDR pushed his socialist agenda too far. Only one General stood in the way of a takeover of the US government then.
It could happen again. I'm not sure that Obama is smart enough to understand who his REAL opponents are- it is not the middle class, but the wealthy
corporations who would not hesitate to act, to save their own hides.
Obama's advisers think that they are clever, but in reality, they are amateurs who are so blinded by their liberalism, that they can't see the real
threat.
For those not familiar with the attempted Coup D'etat against FDR, I suggest reading the following link:

The situation today is VERY similar to that of the 1930's, in fact, eerily so.
