well it dawns on me that much of the new testament correction is for the body of believers. it's pointless to fuss at non christians about their lack of following christian principles. of course they aren't going to follow christian principles: they aren't christian. it's like putting the horse before the cart.

Another thing I dont understand, regarding the ten commandments - 'You shall have no other gods before me' (or something to that effect). Doesnt that one seem a little dodgy? Does that mean there are other Gods?

Also, something which always bugs me about religious people.. If you believe God is so brilliant and we're so lucky etc, then why dont you follow the religion properly? Seems like the majority of people just pick and choose bits to follow.. and personally if I believed in God, didnt really fancy going to hell and wanted to prove myself as being worthy to go to heaven, then I'd try my absolute best to follow the religion down to a tee.
I mean those hardcore christians are unbelievably annoying... but at least they 'practice what they preach'.

Bluebelle, forget religion. Just be spiritual.
Try to create a harmony between your mind, body and eternal spirit.
I know it sounds New Age but try it anyway.
Most people go through life ignoring their eternal spirit.

Indeed it does and Yahwhe/jesus goes out of its' way to make sure everyone knew how jealous he was/is of them.

I have been attacked by xtians claiming that there are no other gods and that yahweh was implying the people should not invent other gods.

This proposal seems somewhat insane as there is no evidence of the existance of Yahweh to begin with.

We effectively have one imaginary deity being jealous of other imaginary deities which is quite ridiculous .

It becomes even more ridiculous when you take a little time to consider why a human would suddenly start worshiping a god that wasn't yahweh in the first place if they didn't actually exist and Yahweh did.

It does seem quite odd... if there were other Gods, why would our own God have such an aversion to them that he actually included in the 10 commandments that we arent to worship them?
And if it means inventing Gods, then thats quite ironic really.. kind of like santa claus telling you the easter bunny doesnt exist

Humans are obviously quite good at fooling themselves anyway if you look at how many different religions with different Gods that are worshipped, and how many people are involved in these various religions... they cant all be right can they? Either way theres a few million people that have convinced themselves that their particular religion is the correct one, and assuming there's an afterlife they're going to be in for a big shock when they die!

Yea.. the whole idea of just trying to be happy, be a good person etc makes sense. But it just sounds like a load of bs when all these rules, punishments & rewards are brought into it like we're silly little children!

Rules. punishments ???
Gods love is unconditional.
People who have had near death experiences say that all the time.
Betty Eadie came back to Earth and said we have 5 God like powers.
Power of Imagination
Power of Intelligence
Power of Creation
Power of Free Will
Power to Love

We are here to learn and grow. We die. Then we go home to heaven.
We goof off for a while then we choose a body and return to Earth.
Does that make sense?

It just means that you shouldn't worship anyone or anything else except the one true God.

You can't prove yourself worthy of going to Heaven. No works you could ever do could get you into Heaven. Christians do things like upholding the Commandments (as best as we can) because we want to, not because we think it will get us into Heaven.

I can tell you it would be a good idea to do selfless acts and expect nothing in return. It will help you fly through your "Life Review".

Clearly the bit about "No other Gods" went right over your head.

Whether you like it or not the evidence for "very real" gods (in your paradigm that is) is right there in the old testaments.

Elohim is plural for god which is discussed in genesis, this is not a reference to angels or fairies saints or leprechauns it is a reference to Gods.

Whether the Elohim were the good guys is immaterial in this discussion as the fact remains that Yahweh was/is clearly jealous of something.

Given the fact that the earliest recorded incident of monotheism occurred at Akhetaten much earlier than the introduction to Yahwhe, and that prior to this a pantheon of gods existed around the world. We can see why yahweh would be jealous (although an omnibenevolent deity and jealousy appear to be an oxymoron) as there were plenty of other gods being worshiped before yahwheh came on the seen.

If you claim that Yahwhe existed prior to these other gods then pleas provide evidence, there is ample evidence of Hathor for example, etched into the temple walls in Egypt but nothing "anywhere" in relation to Yahweh.

Now you can't go around claiming that these other gods were not real, as you can no more prove this than you can that Yahweh was real.

You see, there is no evidence for the reality of any of these deities including Yahwhe, but ample evidence to show that gods like Osiris were about well before Yahweh turns up in the much later Hebrew scriptures.

It is an insult to human intelligence to claim that your god is "real" and someone else s' is not, when you have no evidence of the reality of your own god.

All pixies wear sombreros, I know this because I read it in the book of pixies which is true it says so in the book. My friend once met a fairy but the fairy told him that pixies are imaginary, needless to say he claims to be right as he actually met a fairy, but neither of us have met a pixie.

if there is only god,
then all the lies are the other gods,
whetever it is a vision, a thought, or a thing.
see them as part of one god,
and you do not have other gods,
see them as part of not the one god,
and your thoughts are lies,
and worship the god of lie.

god is one. thats why he is love. one does not accuse one.

Yes.. rules, punishments.. what would you call them? You can say its guidance or ways to teach us, but its essentially the same thing, it just doesnt sound as nice as the other way.

If God's love is unconditional... what on earth was he feeling towards all the people he killed with the whole noah's ark scenario? Why did jesus have to pay for our sins just so God wouldnt hit the restart button again?

As for this Betty Eadie person... If thats the way of things then how come there's not a decent number of people who've also recieved this information during their near death experience?

if you become one with god once,
then it is you actually that decided to be hurted

it's god doing this for a reason,
and it's you that joins him by honesty.

it's not him, bad god, i hate you
it is why do i allow myself to be hurted like that...

and you learn that by making everything a part of you
by forgiveness = understanding.

god is one = truth = us once when we carried our cross of care

Not trying to be difficult here.. but how do you know that?

You can't prove yourself worthy of going to Heaven. No works you could ever do could get you into Heaven. Christians do things like upholding the Commandments (as best as we can) because we want to, not because we think it will get us into Heaven.

Once again, not trying to be difficult!... Why turn a blind eye to certain parts of the bible then? Surely if the bible is what God wanted to be communicated to the rest of the world then people shouldnt really be picking and choosing which bits they want to follow?

all christians want heaven,
like all people

but for some people this world is heaven
(they do not carry cross)

for some it is not yet
(they do carry cross)

the ones that see this world as it really is
become salvation, become one
they first hate, then they love, this is care. = lost sheep
and it has nothing to do with trying to follow
the curse part of the law
another christian lie
is that only 'faith' saves
not true
jesus told ' you will have done miracles in my name
but i will not know you'

so what is his real name ?
read ur bible : god is one, nothing else outside him

his name is oneness
that's why this world is not heaven before you hated it
to love it. Jesus told us he would bring hate, not only love.
and that is works done by faith= choosing love,
that causes you to carry burdens = works.

All good points Bluebelle. Bettie Eadie came back with an almost
photographic memory of what she saw in heaven. When she got
there, the Lord Jesus Christ was there to greet her.
"Welcome home to heaven. It is not yet your time. Your death was
premature. " They showed her around heaven. The prayer room.
All prayers are received, recorded and answered. The Garden.
Roses and waterfalls. Jesus mother Mary was there but
in heaven she has a different name.
Bettie went to the Heavenly Council and received her "Life Review".
After that they told her she must return and complete her mission.
Of course she said no. I'm home in heaven and i'm not going back to
Earth. They convinced to go back and write her book.
Embraced by the Light. She has a great web site.
Embraced by the Light
You can buy the book at her website or at Amazon.com

I just clicked on the link to make sure it works.
There is another book there on her site.
It has Sample Chapters!
Check it out/
The Souls Remembrance by Roy Mills - Sample Chapter
Click on the Author Interview after reading the chapter.
Roy talks about the Life Book!

REPLY if you follow the bible as one piece, coherent
then it is clear you can not understand it before you choose
which truth you follow in it, people died for truth, without ever seeing it
and you expect me to be coherent without you doing the effort to read it ?

ill try again,
religions chose a god,
but it is not the truth because they think it is...

or your god is one = blessing
or your god is divided, and goes against its own truth = curse

torah is divided in 2 parts, blessing or curse
we can choose, most religions chose the divided god.

god is easy, but it is this that makes it difficult for us,
we are trained in making it difficult, when it is easy.

who told us truth is difficult, god is difficult ?
if god is truth , which he is, then he is logic,
and logic is something you can write down,
but it will be easy and looks stupid for most people

yahweh is elohiym.

elohiym (plural) is EL (singular)

EL is IL (just look up the akkadian for babEL..it's bab-ILU. cause IL is EL
)

IL is LIL

who is Enlil.

So yahweh as EL, predated akhetaten.

yahweh is same as jehovah.

jehovah is same as yahweh.
