Yup. People who pose no real threat to the police are abused everyday. Yet openly armed individuals be they just some guy passing by, a bitter individual at a town hall meeting or wholly angry Black Panthers walking down the street with rifles and shotguns in hand in full para-military dress never seem to get abused. Go figure.

the police will tazer people for carrying a baseball bat for god's sakes...check out a few dozen you tube videos...you even see totally unarmed people being gang tackled and beat by police for merely walking on an piece of sidewalk outside of a building that is owned privately, and not owned by the city.

You argued against your own point, by giving a perfect example of why cowering before a tyrant is never a good thing.

If most of these protesters had their way the last eight years, the "federal" government would be able to swipe them off the streets and deny them the Writ of Habeas Corpus before they could even exercise the Constitutional rights (like the 2nd amendment or protesting, let alone both at the same time which probably isn't a right) they didn't give a crap about until they became sore losers. You lost fair and square (unlike the stolen elections in 2000 and 2004 you didn't win either). I don't care to hear libel about squirrel food either. Get over it!!!

The entire Northern State vote here went to Obama... AZ did run Mc Cain but by a very small margin, Phx is a big city with 2 Million Mexicans...

I encountered 1/5th the racism to minorities in genuine manner, speech or behavior as I did on the East Coast

I live in a town of 60,000 people, there is almost NO real crime, I sleep with my door open at night, the biggest employer is probably the Forest service, Our Power is going to be full wind soon, it's clean, every one is friendly, the population is in check, the ENTIRE place is eco friendly and beautiful... I never see Racism when I go out at night, most peoples bug thing is Music and Nature... Black, White it doesn't matter... people are content, no one is angry, the cops never bother me... there are no Cameras, Family is the most important thing in most peoples lives...

and yeah, despite being a bunch of eco hippies the whole place is loaded with guns...

We are the 4th Reich? No one here has an agenda for the rest of the nation aside from maybe picking up your trash and saying please and thank you when you come to visit...

I lived in the city JD, and I experienced racism and sexism on my behalf and others from the moment I got there till the moment I left. If you grew up there, it may not be apparent to you. But as someone from the east coast, it was pretty blatant. I actually had to point it out to people that they were being discriminated against. But I also couldnt' rally anyone, they were all afraid of getting blacklisted.

Why do you think everyone from the east coast flees after awhile?

I mean no offense. There are wonderful qualities. If your an outdoor person that is definitly the place to live(heat aside). We miss our outings and off roading there. And the spring is incredible.

I think you made a lot of good points except the suggestion that those outside the US not voice their insistence that they disagree with an (almost) unrestricted right to bear arms. If they strongly object and believe the right to bear arms is a bad idea, I think its good that they stand up and say so. There is nothing wrong with a variety of opinions. In fact I think that is a good thing.

If they have an idea about how we should be running our country I think they should be very welcome to chime in about how we run it. The internet is a great way to spread new ideas from country to country. Whether or not other people in other countries have bad ideas, I think we can trust individuals to look at both sides of all arguments to make an informed choice.

A 50 caliber rifle can pop a guy from 2 miles away. It can shoot through wood, stucco, brick, concrete, body armor, and bullet proof glass as if it were barely even there. Should the entire city be searched for guns and disarmed so that President Snatch-N-Grab can give his stupid little speech?

"Free Speech Zones" taught some of us a lesson. They'd start out saying, "there's a time and a place, just not here at the rally!" And the next thing you know, everyone with a gun is prohibited from leaving the opposite side of town.

While it appeared at the time to be a random incident, similar to several other gun sightings at health care events, it's become clear today that this time the gun show was at least partially planned.

The man with the semi-automatic (referred to in interviews as "Chris," no last name) was spotted at the protest by CNN news cameras, in the middle of a Q&A. Today, his interviewer -- Ernest Hancock of conservative talk radio show Declare Your Independence With Ernest Hancock -- went on CNN and explained to host Rick Sanchez that he and Chris were actually in the middle of a radio broadcast. Hancock, also packing heat at the rally, had invited Chris to come down the protest with his rifle to be interviewed. The two men had known each other for two years, through their work for presidential hopeful Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas).

During the segment on CNN, Rick Sanchez said, "the more we look into this, the more it appears that it was really planned." Hancock concurred: "Oh, it's more planned than you think." In addition to scheduling the interview, Hancock had also informed the local police force.
