I think only one person answered my question.Do you think passing
an aptitude test should be required for ATS membership?

Yes, no, maybe, what's an "aptitude test"? I was told to "get a life" so I asked where I could download one from..

A copy of an anonymous paraphrase of an original.

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes
suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better have something more.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are
more screwed up than you think.

I've learned that you can keep puking long after you think you're finished.

I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are
celebrities.

I've learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at
first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of something to take its place.

I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you
too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.

I have learned a closed mouth gathers no foot.

I have learned a closed mouth gathers no foot.

This is a very good statement and very true.I know that I
need to learn to keep my mouth shut more.I am a very
outspoken individual and I've gotten myself in trouble many
times.

Welcome!

I think you are astute with your observations, and yes sometimes it is frustrating dealing with all the different types of people on here- not just the believers- but the disinformationists aswell--- it comes to take developing a thick skin to create posts and reply to threads...

Welcome, if you ever need a friendly sounding board, I am always here to help

some people leave a nasty comment for your grammar skills, but usualy just replaying that your not from an english speaking country is enough for them to leave you alone. still we dont need complexed sarcastic comments like "i wish you learned to write as well" with this your just asking to get insulted.
anyway its still alot better then other forums,no so much flames..to inteligent and enlightened people here, not cs players..

Well, welcome to ATS.

I agree that there should be an aptitude test. It would weed out those that think they score above the 50 percentile. You know who you are.

As for the posters, there are a few rules to apply. I learned these rules in the BBS days, and it applies to the internet.
1) Unless you have seen where the person eats, sleeps, and poops... they are not your friend.
2) Don't take anything anyone says personally. Even if it directed at you, they don't know jack.
3) Those that complain the loudest take themselves way to seriously.
4) Don't take yourself too seriously.
5) In any group that interacts, half the participants will score below 100 on an IQ test of that group as a subset. Sometimes that will be you.

I always ask if they want me to take theirs *lol* After getting banned from some unknown forum some of you may know, while still lurking here i found out how much "Deny Ignorance" really means
I wish people woul learn to put down their own beliefs for some time, while investigating others. One will never grasp the full perspective of the universe, therefore never claim to be in the center of it, instead one should learn that one can, at least in the case of "keeping you friends close, but enemies closer"

There are so many who try and prove to others they are intellectual
giants.I try to avoid those threads. I don't wish to be insulted and have
to defend my intelligence,or lack of it.
I just want to have fun!

If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

It doesn't take a PhD to spot a cockroach on a wedding cake.

Good judgment comes from experience, and that usually comes from bad judgment.

There are two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither one works.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

I don't care how tall your grandparents were, you still have to do your own growing.

After watching several episodes of,'Are You Smarter Than A 5th
grader',being totally humbled by the experience.I'm not sure I
would pass an aptitude test myself.I know I would pass if they
graded on a curve.
