This Is Offending To Me That Youd Group Us All Together And Say That We ALL Dont Know Were Talking About. I Would Not Categorize Myself With The Obama Crazed Americans. Just Letting You Know It Felt Sort Of Personal That You Were Saying AMERICANS, Instead Of MOST Americans. That Would Mean Your Just Like Most Americans That Think Just Because Some Afganistans Hate Us And Beat Their Wives, That They All Do XD But If You Meant Most, Then I Agree, I Am Pretty Sick Of It Myself.

Yes, what does go on in the US concerns those who don't live there because it affects us, usually in brutal, ugly and violent ways. And if you reply that you don't care about that, you basically have proven my point.

[edit on 17-8-2009 by metamagic]

I feel a little hurt that you didn't read my whole post, or didn't get it, but I'm an AMERICAN, so I'll just blame you.

I cannot argue with your point at all. I don't think most of us even realize that we are so arrogant. I know I have to work on it all the time.

You see, it's easy to label a country's people based on what their government decides and carries out in their name. I have NEVER had a representative I have voted for be elected. Yeah, I'm whining, I know. But the average citizen has very little say in the way things are run around here. We like to pretend like we do, and puff our chests out and go on about how we're free and all that, but we're not.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are billions of people that despise the U.S. and probably, rightfully so. We are, by nature a self-righteous lot.
That helps us 'be right' when we're invading your country. Our politicians work behind the scenes to line their pockets through the blood of uninformed, 'patriotic' servants. It sucks, but that's sort of what this is about.

Until America 'get's a clue' as it was stated, we will continue to allow our 'leaders' to rape and pillage in our name. When the system of representation no longer works, we are left with no choice but to find something that will. The trouble is, our people don't do 'change' really well and there will be some hurt feelings. Many are unaware, or choose not to see, and now, more and more are getting nervous and excitable. Change is coming and it leaves a definite smell in the air.

Of course I care, as human being, what any nation does to infringe on the rights of another. The senseless killing, the exploitation, the profiteering. I hate it all, but all things have to run their course until it's time. It's almost time.

My point was, instead of telling the people of the US how tired you are of hearing them complain, or make references to Hitler, or anything else, help us find a mutually agreeable solution. When you complain about us complaining, doesn't that make you a hypocrite?

Being an AMERICAN I do not care what your opinion is concerning the policies of OUR country. You may be happy with socialism, I'm happy for you. We patriots are not willing to so willing give up our hard fought for freedoms because we know the only way we will get them back is by the shedding of precious blood. no thanks, I like actually getting my health care this year, not waiting in lines endlessly for even some of the most simple of care or treatment. You may be fine with it, we're not.

we're not sorry we refuse to feel guilt about 'how good we have it' and want to improve on it even more.

We're sorry you feel offended at our protesting this current clown in office the way we are. we're in a bad mood, could canada perhaps crank up its export of mediocre beer and mid level comedians to this country a little more? we weren't sure there was anything else your country had to offer besides those. They cheer us up somewhat.

I can certainly understand why you are interested in American political issues. You’re right, many of the domestic choices that the US makes do have an impact on the rest of the world.

But I don’t think you truly understand why so many Americans are adverse to socialism and why so many of us are appaled with Obama’s socialist agenda.

The reason is that many of us believe that the reason the USA has become a global superpower, and for that matter the reason why our policies influence the rest of the world, is largely due to the driving force behind our economy and our traditional views on issues given to us by our founders and framers.

Simply put, we feel that America has fallen off track and is being pushed away from those ideals more and more drastically every decade, rising to a frenzy of “change we can believe in” with the election of the recent administration.

We don’t want those ideals corrupted. They put us where we are today.
I’m glad you like your government and your health care, but please don’t assume that because many US citizens do not that we’re all stupid.

First of all the United States is a Republic founded on a constitution which strictly limits the authority and scope of the federal government. The idea of socialism, which you enjoy is strictly speaking slavery, as under socialism everyone has some claim to everyone else's life. Their labor, their moneuy, their lives are not their own but property of some nameless mass of government/people/whatever. The definition of slavery is...
slav·er·y (slv-r, slvr)
n. pl. slav·er·ies
1. The state of one bound in servitude as the property of a slaveholder or household.
2.
a. The practice of owning slaves.
b. A mode of production in which slaves constitute the principal work force.
3. The condition of being subject or addicted to a specified influence.
4. A condition of hard work and subjection: wage slavery.

Check numbers 1 and 3 and then when you understand the english language come back and argue how you're not a slave. We the American people do not wish to be slaves, as this is the US and not Canada, we don;t give a crap what you do, you an have a big socialist slavery party and practice humans sacrifice all you wish, for us we prefer freedom.

You the American people also fall under most of those points, your government undermines the constitution at every opportunity and are actively killing people in other countries to spread "democracy", in terms of freedom Americans generally work longer hours than Europeans from what I've seen (and often have several jobs).

There's a quote somewhere that goes something like "the best slaves are those who falsely believe they are free" which I think is relevant here, most Europeans probably can't understand why you aren't all biting Obama's hand off but instead fighting it.

To the OP:

I know why you care so much about what happens in America. You suffer from the typical Canadian inferiority complex. Everything you do, you have to compare to America. You have nothing to do with the American healthcare debate but right away you have to start comparing your supposed superior healthcare to ours. Guess what, nobody is really comparing our healthcare with Canada's. I just don't hear Canada come up in too many conversations about it. We don't look to Canada as the model healthcare system. We want an American system of our own that works for all of us. People against Obamacare don't want the government involved in healthcare decisions and don't care what people in Canada think.

It's not arrogance. It is just that Americans feel a pride in our country and being uniquely American that Canadians could never understand.

America fought for its freedom and defeated the British in 1776 and gained independence after glorious military defeat of the most powerful military of the time and went on to write the most important political documents ever, The Declaration of Indepenence and the Constitution of the United States. Meanwhile our "little brother" in the north, Canada remained loyal subjects of the crown until 206 years later. In 1982 the brits handed Canada independence in a ceremony after they decided they were done with them. So you see we in America view national pride differently then you might. You guys were bending a knee to the Queen of England until 1982.

WOW! this post shows how much you really know about America or Canada for that matter! Were you not aware that Obama is the one that hands your government Que cards and tells them what to say on air just as he does to mexico. And as for the hell care reform you might like being told what care you get and how much of it you can have but beings that we are one of the last psydo free countrys we are fighting to keep it as free as we can before the floride, chem trails,GMO's and fake terror attacks break the spirit of the last TRUE americans that live here. We are not saying we dont need a better healthcare system but what we are saying is we dont want this list of crap they are trying to force down our throats!
here is a LITTLE taste of what we are being told to accept.

page 29: ADMISSION: your health care will be rationed.

page 30: A government committee will decide what treaments and benefits you get. and unlike an insurer there will be no appeals committee.

page 42: the "Health Choices Commissioner" will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. NONE!

page 50: all non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.

page 58: EVERY person will be issued a National ID Healthcard.

page 59: the federal government will have real time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.

page 124: no company can sue the government for price-fixing. No "judicial review" permitted against the government monopoly. Put simply, private insurers will be crushed!

page 127: The AMA sold out our doctors! The government will set all wages!

And thats just a TASTE of what is in the bill so until you live in our shoes in our country you can keep your hate and discontent to yourself!

George Bush said something that I agree with, and I think it is suitable for this topic as well. When he was addressing the United States to invade Iraq, he said, "We do not need a permission slip to defend America." I absolutely agree with this statement. It does not matter what other countries think about the United States. What matters is "What Americans think about the United States". We are friends and allies with so many diverse countries; however, we stand tall and independent from them for a reason. People come to the United States to be free from limitations set by their own governments. If those same people do not like our way of life, they can go back to where they came from. Do NOT try to come here and change our laws. It will NOT be tolerated.

The world needs to wake up. I don't care if you hated that we invaded Iraq, I don't care if you hate our anti-socialistic ways, and I don't care if you hate our way of life. If you do not like it in America, don't make plans to vacation here.

I vote to get this anti-American thread closed.

Yeah I feel the same way.

The only reason the EUtopians could even afford their welfare states was because we were providing the external security. Meanwhile they imported millions of people who are at the moment ploting their cultural destruction of Europe

Too much Euro-thinking has infiltrated the media and the Universities.. Our politicians are morons now and so are too many of the people.

Barack Obama is the most Euoprean-thinking president ever.. no wonder this country is in turmoil. It doesn't work here. We dont want it. We explicitly reject it.

Europeans have a lot of nerve to complain anyway... it was they who were the global Imperialists... invading and controlling almost every inch of earth and at the height of their global conquest they decide to kill each other and then all their oversees projects have to come to an end because the Europeans are exhausted, physically, mentally, economic, spiritually, morally.

And who is left trying to manage the aftermath of all this?

Us.. a people who wanted nothing more than to live our own lives in liberty and enjoy the country that we built.

If the world sucks its because Europe had its hand in every part of it and then committed suicide.

Perhaps you haven't noticed but Americans of all political parties are TIRED of the current administration, and the promises it keeps breaking.

This is the WORSE U.S. administration that HAS EVER EXISTED...

Under the Obama administration we are more in debt, not to mention that over $9 trillion dollars were lost into a "black hole".

Under laws implemented by the current administration such as H.R. 1388 the president and the government gave power over our education and mandatory as well as voluntary Community Service over to the Corporation, whatever the hell that is.

We learned that the Obama administration made a deal with Big pharma, the same deal he kept saying was going to stop and was denuncing every chance he got.

So now we know why the president wants everyone to make nice in the healthcare debate. His White House has cut a deal with Big Pharma that smells like the same old rotten politics that candidate Obama regularly denounced and promised to end. The drug industry agrees to deliver $80 billion in future savings and the president promises the government will not use its awesome purchasing power to negotiate lower drug prices.

Overhauling health-care system tops agenda at annual meeting of Canada's doctors
By Jennifer Graham (CP) – 2 days ago

SASKATOON — The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country's health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country - who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting - recognize that changes must be made.

"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.

And as a constitutional republic we declared slavery illegal in the way a constitutional republic does, with a constitutional amendment. Every country has made mistakes even within the scope of their own laws, the US's problems are caused primarily by the progressive movement today and the quiet overthrow of the framework of our legal system the constitution. The errors the US is making today have much more to do with blindly ignoring the limits of the Constitution and acting as a Democracy, rather than a Republic, which I fear we lost a long time ago.
