Can we envision a better future???

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say 99.99% of ATS members came here in the first place because they were unhappy with the way things are being run. In other words, the status quo is becoming unacceptable and unsustainable. The people running the world are greedy, secretive, and lost in their own delusions. There is a growing sense that if the status quo continues, the human stay on this great planet, will not last much longer.

Are we really put on this planet to work grueling 50-80 hour weeks just to get by and enjoy 20 or so hours on the weekend? I know the majority of people do this without a question because thats what their fathers and grandfathers have done and so on. There is a twisted sense of pride that comes with sacrificing so much. I have an uncle that makes millions of dollars a year but rarely sees his family. He is "happy" to do it because he can buy nice things and support his family. But in a different world I know there is abounding happiness that he could experience if his life wasn't so attached to the idea of hoarding material things and money.

I guess what I am saying is, are we so ingrained into this system that we can't even foresee a way out?I guess what I am saying is, are we so ingrained into this system that we can't even foresee a way out? What would a better world look like? Im sure many people would bring up socialism and all of its downfalls, but Im not asking about the past, Im asking what people would like to see in the future. Post 2012/revolution/disclosure/consciousness shift, what would it all look like? How would it work?

We have a community full of people here who disagree with the way things are being run, so instead of criticizing others, I challenge you, How would you do it? What do you foresee happening for a utopian society to unfold on earth? Now I know it may be like fantasizing, but I believe we first have to be able to see this in our minds before it can actually happen.

So I'll start.

Disclosure happens through some miraculous event. Realizing that we are not alone in this universe brings the world together and we are no longer separated by race/religion/color since none of that matters anymore. A shift in human consciousness occurs when people realize (maybe through the merging of science and spirituality) that quite literally, we are all one. The people who have been hiding and running this world from behind the curtain are all exposed and fresh new minds are chosen to lead this planet into a new age.

The new age is set up upon people becoming more self sustaining and getting back to helping thy neighbor instead of competing against then to see who can hoard the most things. People become less reliant on government and therefore there is less power and control and more selfless service to others. We realize that capitalism will eventually make the earth uninhabitable and devise a totally new system based on respect and love of fellow humans.

That's my silly little idea and I would love to hear yours.

Note: I'm sure many of you will get into more detail and I encourage that. What I ask is that there is no bickering over whose ideas are better and what will and will not work because we have no way of knowing that. I would love to see a healthy exchange of ideas and who knows, maybe an idea conceived on this thread will let people actually see how it all could work and have an astounding affect on this planet!

Gotta say its a little depressing that no one can envision a better future here...maybe ATS is breeding too much paranoia.

You presented a great perspective: Don't critizise, or blame, but envision some alternative system. And i totally agree with most things you said, except that this is a silly little idea. No, it's a huge and sensible approach, simply, because your idea is exactly the new way to think. Don't allow your thoughts to be imprisoned into a fixed system, be it capitalism or a certain conspiracy theory. See the world how you want her to be and live the idea you preach yourself. In my experience, everything else will adjust to your thoughts, be it the athmosphere at work or your girls behaviour.

Thoughts are mighty and if someone wishes and envisions something very strongly, it will happen. Don't try to change something, and don't try to succeed, be the change you want to see in the world (yes, Gandhi). But that is the difficult thing: People learned how to critizise, they have skills and techniqs to achieve things, but they know not how to strongly believe! Why? Our system does not encourage that skill, because it wants people small and sheepish. Strong people are looked upon suspicious and therefore feel guilty.

Don't walk into that trap. Your idea is not silly little, it is awake.

Now to the point: A better future, how to reach it and how will it look like?

No lies. As people wake up, they learn to recognize truth and harmony in opposition to hatred and deception. You can't fool an enlightened person, he will simply look into your eyes and walk away. The more people wake up, the more all these ugly lies have to struggle in order to survive. A very natural process.

Love needs to increase. Caring people will not work for themselves, they will share their wealth without questioning, on an advanced level at least. No need for turbocapitalism anymore, no need for greed or wars. People who love can not fight wars and they need spare time, nature and art. They will be strong but peaceful humans who fight for their love. Love is no weakness. It's the greatest strength. Hatred will have a hard time bullying them around as it did in the past.

So, with truth and love and honesty, which results out of truth, it will be easy for the enlightened to reach everything else. Intelligence, wealth, power, communities, peace and everything else. Unfortunately, only few people are awake right now, but as i see it, the number is exponentially growing and the light at the end of the tunnel steadily becomes brighter. And the way to truth and love is meditation. Very simple

Well, many have said; " If it ain't broke, than don't fix it." It sure does appear that it's going broke and needs a major overhaul.

I've said before that I much prefer a Star Trek tech. future, but haven't read the book and script on it yet. So, in some way, I am excited for that type of change, rather than the SOS for the futures of us and our children.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Its one thing to imagine the future, but being the change you wish to see in the world is the key. Once we have imagined it, we can begin to act like the citizens of this new world.

Also, no more lies is one of the basic essentials if this new world is to succeed. A lot of the problems today come from the lies and secrecy of the world governments. Withholding info on more efficient energy systems so as much profit as possible can be extracted from oil is just one example.

I also didn't get many responses. I even got a dumb one saying something about murderers who would be included in people needing to be changed...uh duh.

This is my idea, that either they will have to leave us (through death) Or see the other side of the looking glass, the one we live on. The awakened ones see past the veil, they need to see this also. The only way for that to happen is for them to open their eyes, their minds, and most importantly, their hearts. Or be assimilated in the collective and lose their "primitive" thought patterns to our more highly advanced thought process. There is only one thing I see wrong with this is how to achieve this? Maybe somebody like us when the SHTF saves one of them, without hate and prejudiced, and they see that even though they would not have helped us, we have extended our hands to them, that could open their eyes, and their hearts. So if we want to make change we have to meet them with peace and love, people will react in kind with peace and love. So remember that when you are asked a favor by someone who has constantly turned you down of favors, extend that favor, and you have shown at least one person a different way. This may take a long time and effort, but that doesn't make it all the less worthwhile.

Being the change you wish to see in the world is not difficult at all. It is the natural behaviour of humans, think of superintelligent children, or just good children. The thing that makes it so hard is the ego, which is so much stimulated in both of our societies. Go to india, for example, and it is something completely different there. Indians value honesty and love, not wealth and stupidity.

So, to get rid of the ego is the main problem. It's not about what you need to do or what you must reach, it is about what you should not do and what you let happen. No preaching here, just what i think.

Maybe even the fact that we accept that the SHTF is an inevitability, will in effect make it become a reality!

I'd like to think that these types of people will undergo the shift in their own way. Recently as I have tried being the change I wish to see in the world, I have seen people (some of which were the last people in the world that would wake up), have started showing signs of their minds and hearts opening up.

One person in particular started talking about Buddhism and meditation and it blew my mind. I think the people who are the farthest away from love and compassion, have a greater chance of waking up. The universe shows these people the hardest and most life changing situations to speed up their evolution of consciousness. I am more sure every day for these reasons and more that all is well.

I think a lot of people (especially people who frequent this website) have a tendency to feel so powerless against TPTB that they just say whats the point?

When I first started coming here I got sucked into the doom and gloom and it definitely changed my outlook on life. Getting into quantum mechanics, meditation, mindfulness changed my view so I could see that our state of mind determines our reality.

Once I realized this it made a lot more sense to life up to Ghandis words. I didn't feel like I was fighting an impossible up hill battle against evil. I started to see changes little by little in my everyday reality and it just reaffirmed my beliefs.

Im glad to hear more people who come here are going through the same learning process as I have.

I am starting to have glimpses of a totally new reality based on service to others and freedom from fear. I am beginning to believe thats why the red scare was created and there is such a negative view of communism in the west. If there was no fear of survival...how many more poets would we have and how many less lawyers?

I would imagine a better future by living in equilibrium with nature. This is our only planet, we know of no other planet in which we can sustain human life. So, why mess this one up, what purpose does that serve?

We have many renewable sources of energy. We can house more people on less land and feed more people with less land. We can use the dirt under our feet for housing. So many alternatives available to us that we don't use because they don't turn a profit for those we allow to control us.
