I'm going to go out on a limb here and say 99.99% of ATS members came here in the first place because they were unhappy with the way things are being run. In other words, the status quo is becoming unacceptable and unsustainable. The people running the world are greedy, secretive, and lost in their own delusions. There is a growing sense that if the status quo continues, the human stay on this great planet, will not last much longer.

Are we really put on this planet to work grueling 50-80 hour weeks just to get by and enjoy 20 or so hours on the weekend? I know the majority of people do this without a question because thats what their fathers and grandfathers have done and so on. There is a twisted sense of pride that comes with sacrificing so much. I have an uncle that makes millions of dollars a year but rarely sees his family. He is "happy" to do it because he can buy nice things and support his family. But in a different world I know there is abounding happiness that he could experience if his life wasn't so attached to the idea of hoarding material things and money.

What would a better world look like? Im sure many people would bring up socialism and all of its downfalls, but Im not asking about the past, Im asking what people would like to see in the future. Post 2012/revolution/disclosure/consciousness shift, what would it all look like? How would it work?

We have a community full of people here who disagree with the way things are being run, so instead of criticizing others, I challenge you, How would you do it? What do you foresee happening for a utopian society to unfold on earth? Now I know it may be like fantasizing, but I believe we first have to be able to see this in our minds before it can actually happen.

So I'll start.

Disclosure happens through some miraculous event. Realizing that we are not alone in this universe brings the world together and we are no longer separated by race/religion/color since none of that matters anymore. A shift in human consciousness occurs when people realize (maybe through the merging of science and spirituality) that quite literally, we are all one. The people who have been hiding and running this world from behind the curtain are all exposed and fresh new minds are chosen to lead this planet into a new age.

The new age is set up upon people becoming more self sustaining and getting back to helping thy neighbor instead of competing against then to see who can hoard the most things. People become less reliant on government and therefore there is less power and control and more selfless service to others. We realize that capitalism will eventually make the earth uninhabitable and devise a totally new system based on respect and love of fellow humans.

That's my silly little idea and I would love to hear yours.

Note: I'm sure many of you will get into more detail and I encourage that. What I ask is that there is no bickering over whose ideas are better and what will and will not work because we have no way of knowing that. I would love to see a healthy exchange of ideas and who knows, maybe an idea conceived on this thread will let people actually see how it all could work and have an astounding affect on this planet!

Gotta say its a little depressing that no one can envision a better future here...maybe ATS is breeding too much paranoia.

You presented a great perspective: Don't critizise, or blame, but envision some alternative system. And i totally agree with most things you said, except that this is a silly little idea. No, it's a huge and sensible approach, simply, because your idea is exactly the new way to think. Don't allow your thoughts to be imprisoned into a fixed system, be it capitalism or a certain conspiracy theory. See the world how you want her to be and live the idea you preach yourself. In my experience, everything else will adjust to your thoughts, be it the athmosphere at work or your girls behaviour.

Thoughts are mighty and if someone wishes and envisions something very strongly, it will happen. Don't try to change something, and don't try to succeed, be the change you want to see in the world (yes, Gandhi). But that is the difficult thing: People learned how to critizise, they have skills and techniqs to achieve things, but they know not how to strongly believe! Why? Our system does not encourage that skill, because it wants people small and sheepish. Strong people are looked upon suspicious and therefore feel guilty.

Don't walk into that trap. Your idea is not silly little, it is awake.

Now to the point: A better future, how to reach it and how will it look like?

No lies. As people wake up, they learn to recognize truth and harmony in opposition to hatred and deception. You can't fool an enlightened person, he will simply look into your eyes and walk away. The more people wake up, the more all these ugly lies have to struggle in order to survive. A very natural process.

Love needs to increase. Caring people will not work for themselves, they will share their wealth without questioning, on an advanced level at least. No need for turbocapitalism anymore, no need for greed or wars. People who love can not fight wars and they need spare time, nature and art. They will be strong but peaceful humans who fight for their love. Love is no weakness. It's the greatest strength. Hatred will have a hard time bullying them around as it did in the past.

So, with truth and love and honesty, which results out of truth, it will be easy for the enlightened to reach everything else. Intelligence, wealth, power, communities, peace and everything else. Unfortunately, only few people are awake right now, but as i see it, the number is exponentially growing and the light at the end of the tunnel steadily becomes brighter. And the way to truth and love is meditation. Very simple

I am starting to have glimpses of a totally new reality based on service to others and freedom from fear. I am beginning to believe thats why the red scare was created and there is such a negative view of communism in the west. If there was no fear of survival...how many more poets would we have and how many less lawyers?
