Article I section 8 says its congresses duty to provide for the general welfare of the public.

Automatically enrolling an uninsured person in a government health insurance plan (that they very well may not be interested in) is not providing for their welfare, it is forcing it upon them, big difference. Imposing a penalty on those that do not aquire health coverage is not providing for their welfare, it is punishing them.

On topic, i don't think anyone is ever really ready for a revolution, they just do the best they can if it comes .

That revolution part is probably true. Although, some people still might be ready. Maybe not for a revolution per say, but something. Just a general prepareness. If thats a word.

Also listed are the specific things that pertain to the general welfare, and what they are.

Health insurance is not one of them. Taking over banks is not one of them. Bailing out lending firms is not among them, nor is bailing out the auto industry.

That's what liberals have done - taken a statement, and interpreting it to mean many things not intended, justifying their dumbass, intrusive activities.

I didn't judge you, I made a logical assumption based on your statement, which would indicate to me that I'm not the one having trouble with pucker identification.

If someone kicks this thing off, you won't control diddly squat. You'll be pushed along like a leaf in a river.

It won't be two sides lining up and fighting. It will be individuals and small groups just fighting for survival. As those groups suffer hunger and thirst, they'll resort to some barbaric means to attain them.

You can sit there and say you can have some control over your local situation, but you won't have nearly the control you think.

You'll be just like everyone else - reacting.

Because if some clown/s manage to get the country sideways, this won't go away in a week or two. Maybe a year or two.

The odds of a person dodging trouble for months or even years, is extremely minute.

What you do, or what your mindset is, is no skin off my nose. The weaker will be preyed on first - and that should keep the other predators off my butt for a while. Quite a while.

So the more prey out there - the better my chances.

Good luck.

Sounds like you'll need it.

thinkin physical conditioning has nothing to do with your chances of survivability in the romantic end of the world scenarios this thread is envisioning is of the utmost foolishness...

Its hard to really argue with some that doesnt have this kind of reasoning..thiinking they can survive solely off their superior 'mindset'...

well...

I've seen some of the finest examples of manhood, top condition, excellent physical specimens - couldn't get from point A to point B - as they didn't have the mindset.

They thought because they played football, ran track, and worked out extensively, that they were up to any challenge.

Wrong.

Oh I agree ones mentality plays the major role in the ability to get from point a to point b, but usually those that have conditioned themeselves properly are already in the proper mindset...

being in top physical shape takes patience, perceverance and dedication..all qualities of thhe proper mindset one needs to have to survive...physical conditioning is mental conditioning...

massive muscles is not a quality of proper conditioning...that is not at all what I am talking about...

I don't think this is just about the health care bill. This is Everything Obamanation has done since he has been in office.
Spending trillions on bailing out banks and auto companies.
Reneging on everything he said before he was elected.(well ok they All do that)
The health care reform, the cap and trade which is much more frightening to me, and the trillions he has spent, and the trillions to follow. The promise of employment and still no jobs. ( well ok I have seen the signs at the road work sites that say ARRA)

It is all this, AND, what the Bush administration has done, that is making the American people start to stand up and say We Have Had Enough.

I have been a democrat all my life, and I voted for Obamanation. But this is not the Change I signed on for. I am ready to buy a gun, I am ready to defend My Country from "domestic enemies" ( our current Gov.)
Oh, and I no longer consider myself a democrat, not going to go to the republican side either.

I'd say healthcare is a pretty general need.

The problem is, Our Government seems to think that the American people are no more than ignorant babies, and that they have to make decisions for us rather than listen to what We The People want.
When did we quit being a Democratic society?

Am I ready for a revolution?

Absoultely. I have been ready for quite some time. Damn the forced dependancy, but I am MORE than ready for the day when we know our neighbors better than we know what time our favorite T.V program comes on.

let me see if I understand .

you are ready for road blocks where , you honestly don't know if you will survive if you say the wrong thing .

your ready for people disappearing with out explaination , and there will never be a clear understanding what happen'd to them .

your ready for everything being normal , polite and just as you see it now , but go from here to a town 100 miles away and your under a military dictator , martl law were you question anything , and they just shoot you you .

liberal will be lined up and shot in one town , conservitives in another .. bankers in another town , street people in another town...

and you have to pray to god your in the right town .

there is no running away , revolutions eat their hero's .
those who build the gallows today , hang in them tomarrow .

the weak are the first victums of the strong , then the strong are the victums of the sniper , then the sniper is the victum of the citizen , who is then the victum of courts .

frankly speaking ... the only people who are not harmed by a revolution , are those that stand togather in community and with force of arms say loudly ....

you make my life hard , I will make your life short .
we stand togather , we stand apart , mess with one of us , you mess with all of us .
leave us alone , or leave .

I should note : big men make big targets , solo acts die alone , haveing a gun may not stop violance by simply being present , but not having a gun is a sure bet you will do nothing about violance being done to you .

.... and any one can tell me they are ready for this ....

revolution is never about being strong , well arm'd , preparations , stocked with needed items .

anything in the hand can be taken away .

no knight is so grand they can not be taken down .

no tactic so bold , it can not be out manuvered .

and however deep the hole you climb into , aside from leaving the country... there is nothing you can do or say that makes me beleive your ready ...

frankly speaking , I am a survivor , I have seen revolution close up and personal... been there done that , got the tee shirt , seen the movie... and I am not ready .

anything is better than revolution .

but freeman ! or free of this earth !
once we have lost our freedom... this genaration and ever person living today will pass befor this land gets it back .

Not stating my opinion... however...

many people in America are ready for a revolution... as are many people in the world. However, not enough. If anyone tries anything now... it will fail, and will give the government cassus belli against people like us.

If you hear talk of a revolution right now, it is probably those in power trying to coerce people into doing dumb things so they can use that as the cause for grabbing more power.

For those of you who are constantly vigilant about things, as I try to be, you realize we are still on the roller coaster going up before the first drop. Likewise, when we reach the turning point, there will be no question about the necessity of action. Ask yourself the questions: 1) are you willing to die for this cause and 2) are you willing to take the life of another person for it. My friends, that is the gravity of saying the word "revolution." It should not be bandied about lightly.

By the way, for those of you who know your US Constitution... read the Insurrections Clause. Put that in the modern context and that is what you will have coming to you. That is not to say that the right to rebel is not a fundamental right of man, but, as we know so well, the government will strike out against its enemies "foreign and domestic" in order to preserve itself.

Vigilance is what is called for right now, not recklessness.

the funny thing is, my brother sean had a reoccuring dream that started about 10 years ago and still happens to this day, where he is in the military and is on a navy ship when a huge war happens. He is safe on the ship for awhile, because most of the attacks are on land, but eventually his ship gets attacked and he manages to escape on a military raft with a few others who survive. they become freedom fighters when they arrive on land and then his dream ends.

My brother joe also said he had a very similar dream where he saw sean under the same circumstances and they were both freedom fighters with hundreds of others.

the interesting part? Sean just joined the military this month.

Your brother's dreams might get a chance to be fullfilled. I personally would not want to be stationed in any area of the mid-east right now. When trouble really starts, it will be there. With the situation of the buildup of nuclear facilities by the Iranians, and the promise by the Israelies that they would not let it be finnished, what do think is going to happen???

it's only a matter of time before the situation errupts, and it could easily go nuclear. And as in the dreams you mentioned, one might survive at first, to be later involved in a ground fight.

I think for all the people waiting for something to happen, you might get your chance soon. Also worth mentioning, the United States government needs a diversion away from the problems of dealing with a restless public, who grows more weary each passing day of the move of it's government to a Socialist agenda, and a spending program that creates a debt load that can never be paid back. Trouble in the Mid-east sounds like a good diversion to me.

Any takers on that idea???

I know what the revolution will be about.
It will be the new system of control. Not a new system exactly , but one that has been gaining such a hold on us in the last 2 decades that we are now at the point where we whink we cant survive without the latest consumables , the latest tech , in the fear that we'll be left behind.

I think it was Kissinger or Rockefeller who said " Give me control of a countrys' money , and i care not who makes its laws "

They will control us with money. " money makes the world go round " they say , and we are fed the lie that we cannot survive without it , and thats what they'll play on.

There is an often misquoted thought that " money is the root of all evil " , but in actual fact , it says " the LOVE of money is the root of all evil "

They will roll out a new system of buying and selling and we will feel pressured into taking it because we have become so dependant on our worthless paper , and are completely dependant on it.
We dont know how to forage unless its found on a tesco shelf. We dont know how to light a fire in the woods. We have become fattened calves ready to be technologically " culled " by a new financial system.

Its scary yeah , but im ready to die rather than have some chip implanted inside me. Im not gonna lose eternity just so i can allign myself with the beast system.

Im ready for the revolution. The revolution is a simple word.......

" NO ! "

I am not sure of the why, but just this month I have heard five different folks talk about revolution.

I am not sure if its because I have been lurking more often on this site and folks have been talking about it all along. Like maybe I haven't been listening. OR folks are just now really starting to talk about stuff they have been thinking.

Mostly they are angry about the bailouts, they are in disagreement over the war/wars, health-care, foreclosures, etc. The amazing thing, everyone doesn't seem fed up with the exact same thing....but equally fed up. They are from various walks of life and different political views.

Extremely interesting.
